Abstract

Recognizing the crucial role of education in national development, this study investigates the impact of educational facilities on school participation, student activities, and educational outcomes in Indonesia using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The analysis reveals that educational facilities exhibit high reliability and validity, underscoring the significance of investing in physical infrastructure to support various educational activities and enhance the overall learning experience. However, the findings indicate that improvements in educational facilities alone do not necessarily lead to better educational outcomes or increased school participation. Other factors, such as teaching quality and socio-economic support, play critical roles. Conversely, enhanced facilities significantly boost student engagement in extracurricular activities, which are vital for skill development and motivation. The positive correlation between school participation and educational outcomes highlights the need for strategies to improve student attendance and engagement. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of a holistic educational approach that includes both academic and extracurricular dimensions. The indirect effects show that while the direct impact of educational facilities on educational outcomes might be negative, the overall positive influence through school participation and student activities emphasizes the necessity of a comprehensive strategy that addresses multiple facets of the educational environment to achieve better results.
