PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA NYARING MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA CERITA BERGAMBAR DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' reading skills with the help of picture story media in class IV SDN 011 Sungai Jalau. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research. This research consisted of 2 cycles and each cycle was conducted in 2 meetings. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, tests, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques were carried out in qualitative and quantitative descriptions. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that the classical completeness from before the action, cycle I and cycle II experienced an average increase and also the percentage of classical at each meeting. It can be seen at the pre-action time that the average student learning outcome is 58.70 with a classical completeness percentage of 31.25%. Then in the first cycle of the first meeting the average student learning outcomes increased to 65.40 with a classical completeness percentage of 43.75%. In the first cycle of the second meeting, the average student learning outcomes increased again to 70.98 with a classical completeness percentage of 62.5%. Then in cycle II meeting I the average student learning outcomes increased again to 77 with classical completeness of 81.25%. Then in cycle II meeting II the average student learning outcomes increased again to 82.14 with a classical completeness percentage of 93.75%. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of picture story media can improve the reading skills of class IV students at SDN 011 Sungai Jalau.
