<![CDATA[Gingivitis is usually caused by plaque on the tooth surface which, if left untreated, can progress to periodontitis. This case review is intended to study periodontitis in a child who made a treatment visit to RSGM Baiturrahmah Padang. Although the treat-ment consisted of initial periodontal treatment, supragingival and subgingival scaling was performed to reduce periodontal pa-thogens found in dental plaque. The success of aggressive periodontitis treatment depends on the initial diagnosis. Patients were evaluated for improvement after initial treatment was completed. Patients are educated and motivated on how to maintain oral hygiene. This is followed by therapy against micro-organism infection and avoiding an infection-free environment for heal-ing by administering systemic antibiotics to the patient. In this case, the management only reached the initial stage. It is conclu-ded that it is important to recognise and treat aggressive periodontitis early as it can prevent severe periodontal tissue damage.]]>
