Inovasi program pendidikan karakter islami di SMP Sekolah Alam Indonesia Cipedak

Abstract

This nation is currently experiencing prolonged moral degradation. Character education in Indonesia can be said to have not been successful, and many teachers find it difficult to implement character education due to the heavy academic burden. This research aims to provide an overview and examples of activities in the form of innovations in Islamic character education programs carried out by SMP Sekolah Alam Indonesia (SAI) and describe the implementation of these program activities. The research uses a qualitative method, namely field research. The objects in this study are the school principal and teachers of SMP Sekolah Alam Indonesia and alumni of SMP SAI. The results of this research show that SMP SAI has implemented distinctive and relatively different character education program innovations compared to other schools in general. Additionally, supporting and hindering factors in the implementation of the education program can be identified, as well as the perceptions of SMP SAI alumni, where the program innovations they have participated in have helped shape the noble character of the alumni.   Abstrak Bangsa ini tengah mengalami degradasi moral yang berkepanjangan. Pendidikan karakter di Indonesia dapat dikatakan belum berhasil, dan banyak guru yang merasa kesulitan dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter disebabkan beban akademik yang banyak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran dan contoh kegiatan berupa inovasi–inovasi program pendidikan karakter islami yang dilakukan oleh SMP Sekolah Alam Indonesia (SAI) Cipedak dan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan kegiatan program tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yakni field research atau penelitian lapangan. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah dan guru SMP SAI dan alumni SMP SAI Cipedak. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa SMP SAI telah melakukan inovasi program pendidikan karakter yang khas dan relatif berbeda dengan sekolah lain pada umumnya. Selain itu dapat ditemukan pula faktor metode pembelajaran, pendukung dan penghambat berjalannya program tersebut serta persepsi dari alumni SMP SAI di mana inovasi program yang telah mereka ikuti dapat menempa karakter mulia para alumninya.
