<![CDATA[The purposes in this research to describes the structure, function and meaning of kias in the party tradition oral tupping in Kalianda and collecting the material of Lampung language in th junior high school. The method used in this research is the qualitative descriptive method. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data of this study refers to the oral tradition of figurative, the figurative text fragments sung in the traditional party tupping at the Kalianda Lampung sebatin. The result of data, imagine teks that we analysis 1) structure, there are rhyme, rhythm, tone, Skelton of kias, the choice of words (diksi), abode, language style 2) the function of kias is to convey the advice of the public as consolation, to convey story, 3) the meaning of kias are; theme advice, theme religion, theme love.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan struktur, fungsi, dan makna kias dalam tradisi lisan pesta adat tupping di Kalianda dan penyusunan bahan ajar Bahasa Lampung di sekolah menengah pertama. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari tradisi lisan kias, yaitu berupa penggalan-penggalan teks kias yang dilantunkan pada pesta adat tupping di Kalianda Lampung sebatin. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, teks-teks kias yang peneliti analisis (1) struktur, yaitu rima, irama, nada, kerangka kias, pilihan kata (diksi), bait, gaya bahasa (2) fungsi kias, yaitu menyampaikan nasihat kepada masyarakat, sebagai hiburan, menyampaikan cerita, (3) makna kias, yaitu bertema nasihat, bertema agama, bertema percintaan, yang berisi fokus penelitian.Kata kunci: Bahan ajar, fungsi, makna, puisi kias, struktur.]]>
