Abstract

One of the pillars in the development of national food security is food diversification program. The program aims to anticipate possibilities of food shortages especially staple food. In Indonesia, one of the national food security development areas and sago producing center is Kepulauan Meranti Regency. But the use of sago as a local food source of carbohydrates in Kepulauan Meranti is still low compared to rice food commodities. Based of research showed The Accelerating Diversification Of Food Consumption (P2KP) based on local resources is not optimally yet. Based on this, researcher are interested to studying how the effort of Kepulauan Meranti regency government in application of Presidential Regulation number 22 year 2009 about policy of accelerating diversification of food consumption based on local resources. Theoretical concept used is implementation in Van Meter and Van Horn (2013) who said that there was several variables that affected the performanced of the public policy implementation. This research used qualitative method by using snowball as information and the data analys thecnique by using triangulation technique. Result of the research showed that implementation of the Accelerating Diversification Of Food Consumption (P2KP) based on local resources is not optimally yet. This is caused by limited human resources, infrastructure, and habit of society who are not consuming sago as a staple food in Kepulauan Meranti Regency.Keyword : The Accelerating Diversification Of Food Consumption (P2KP), Implementation, Kepulauan Meranti Regency.
