Abstract

AbstractThe development of incarnation theology has taken into account people with disabilities. However, the incarnation tends to be understood in a single corporeal identity, whilst disability shows the multiplicity of identities of socially constructed bodies. How do we see the incarnation in a disability perspective that embraces the multiplicity of body identity? Mayra Rivera, based on Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy, spoke of intercarnation as an alternative to the incarnation in a social perspective. This article points out that discussing the incarnation in the perspective of disability with a social model leads to the idea of intercarnation. In dealing with this case, the discourse about intercanation among feminist theologians would be helpful for the theology of disability. AbstrakPengembangan teologi inkarnasi telah memperhitungkan faktor orang-orang dengan disabilitas. Akan tetapi, inkarnasi cenderung dipahami dalam sebuah identitas korporeal tunggal, padahal disabilitas menunjukkan adanya multiplisitas identitas tubuh yang dikonstruksi secara sosial. Bagaimana melihat inkarnasi dalam perspektif disabilitas yang merangkul multiplisitas identitas tubuh? Mayra Rivera, yang berangkatdari filsafat Maurice Merleau-Ponty, berbicara tentang interkarnasi sebagai sebuah alternatif terhadap perbincangan inkarnasi dalam perspektif sosial. Artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa membahas inkarnasi dalam perspektif disabilitas dengan model sosial akan mencapai gagasan tentang interkarnasi. Dalam mengkaji hal ini, diskursus tentang interkarnasi yang selama ini didominasi oleh teolog-teolog feminis akan bermanfaat bagi teologi disabilitas.

Abstract

AbstractThis article discusses George L. Murphy’s argument that the development of science and technology in the early 21st Century challenges the relevance of core religious theories including theology of nature, theidea of the loving God, and humanitarian ethics. He proposes a theology of the Cross of Jesus Christ as a lens for responding to that challenge. Here Murphy’s theological perspective is put in dialogue with a perspective that departs from the trilogy films: “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”, and “War for the Planet of Apes.” Employing Revised Correlational method, this article suggests a more optimistictheological reflection concerning cosmology, evolution, biotechnology, the future of humankind, and harmony. AbstrakArtikel ini membahas argumen George L. Murphy yang menilai perkembangan sains dan teknologi di awal abad ke-21 menggugat relevansi dari teori-teori keagamaan yang inti, termasuk teologi tentang alam, gagasan tentang Tuhan yang pengasih, dan etika humanitarian. Murphy mengusulkan persepektif teologi Salib Yesus Kristus sebagai lensa untuk merespon gugatan tersebut. Dalam artikel ini, pandangan Murphy didialogkandengan pandangan yang ditarik dari trilogy film “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”, dan “War for the Planet of Apes”. Menggunakan metode Korelasional yang Diperbarui, studi ini menghasilkan refleksi etis-teologis yang optimisik tentang kosmologi, evolusi, bioteknologi, masa depanmanusia, dan harmoni.

Abstract

AbstractReading messages from the past to fi nd their implications for the present is a difficult task of interpretation. Certain hermeneutical skills are needed to prevent failure to bridge the gap in perspective between writers andreaders, and to meet the contextual needs. The focus of this article is the framework of Hans-Georg Gadamer’s hermeneutic theory. Studying Gadamer provides important benefits for contextual hermeneutic studies. This article suggests that Gadamer’s hermeneutics is beneficial for theological education struggling to overcome the diversity of horizons in the process of discovering the meaning of scriptures. AbstrakMembaca pesan dari masa lalu, menemukan implikasinya bagi masa sekarang adalah tugas memaknai yang tidak mudah. Dibutuhkan keterampilan hermeneutis tertentu untuk mencegah kegagalan menjembatani kesenjangan cara pandang yang ada di antara penulis dan pembaca, dan memenuhi kebutuhan lingkungan yang kontekstual. Fokus artikel ini adalah kerangka teori hermeneutik Hans-Georg Gadamer. Hasil studi terhadap Gadamer ini memberi manfaat penting bagi studi hermeneutik dalam semangatnya mencarimakna yang kontekstual. Studi ini menyarankan bahwa hermeneutik Gadamer bermanfaat bagi pendidikan teologi yang selalu bergumul mengatasi kepelbagaian horizon dalam proses menemukan makna Kitab Suci.

Abstract

AbstractThis article explores leadership paradigms employed in the Management and Leadership Training Program for Students (P2KMM) in Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana. An evaluation of the leadership paradigm is important because it plays a determining role in whether a leader would be successful or failed ethically. Using post-colonial approach, this study focuses on the moral spirit acknowledged as the Duta Wacana Values, particularly the value of ‘Service to the World.’ As a part of the research, a fieldwork was carried out both by observation of 2017 P2KMM writing materials, as well as interviews with representatives of P2KMM committee and the student staff . The finding indicates that the said value tends to be overlooked in the UKDW leadership program for students. AbstrakArtikel ini adalah studi etika kepemimpinan dengan perspektif postkolonial. Yang diteliti adalah paradigma kepemimpinan yang digunakan dalam Program Pelatihan Kepemimpinan dan Manajemen Mahasiswa(P2KMM) di Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana. Pentingnya penilaian terhadap paradigma kepemimpinan terletak pada peran menentukan dari paradigm kepemimpinan dalam keberhasilan atau kegagalan etisseorang pemimpin. Menggunakan pendekatan poskolonial, artikel ini menyoroti serangkaian nilai-nilai moral yang diakui sebagai ‘Nilai-nilai Duta Wacana,’ khususnya nilai ‘Melayani Dunia.’ Sebagai bagian dari penelitian, dilakukan observasi terhadap materi P2KMM UKDW tahun 2017 dan wawancara terhadap perwakilan tim penyusun materi dan mahasiswa pendamping P2KMM. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ‘Melayani Sesama,’ cenderung terabaikan dalam program pembentukan kepemimpinan mahasiswa UKDW.

Abstract

Abstract The concern of this article is the fact that the Bible, especially the Old Testament, contains accounts of violence. The book of Joshua chapter 8 is one of the best examples. This article uses the method of communitarian reading to interpret that text. The event where the LORD actively commands approves Joshua to do violence to humans and other creatures is an interesting research point. Learning from the academic discourse about violence, this article observes how several congregations read the biblical text which is full of violence through so-called reader responses criticism tabulated based on some spiritual-denominational values or theological premises within a communitarian reading of four churches (Mennonite, Pentecostal-Charismatic, Calvinist, and Catholic) in their clusters. Abstrak Penulisan dalam artikel ini secara kritis didasari oleh kenyataan bahwa teks-teks Alkitab khususnya di dalam Perjanjian Lama, memuat narasinarasi mengenai kekerasan. Salah satu contohnya adalah teks Yosua pasal 8, yang menjadi pusat pembacaan komunitarian dalam penelitian ini. Semakin menarik perhatian untuk diteliti bahwa di dalam teks-teks yang memuat narasi kekerasan tersebut, pihak Tuhan digambarkan merestui bahkan secara aktif memerintahkan umat-Nya (dalam hal ini bangsa Israel) untuk melakukan tindakan kekerasan kepada sesama manusia, maupun ciptaan yang lain. Berdasarkan hal itulah, maka setelah memertimbangkan diskursus kekerasan dari para ahli, penelitian ini mengobservasi bagaimana jemaat-jemaat membaca teksAlkitab yang memuat narasi kekerasan dengan menggunakan metode pembacaan respon pembaca (reader response criticism) yang ditabulasikan berdasarkan nilai-nilai spiritual denominasional dari empat gereja yangmewakili komunitas yang terpilih (Mennonite, Pantekostalit-Kharismatik, Calvinis, dan Katholik) di wilayah Yogyakarta melalui interaksi per cluster secara komunitarian.

Abstract

Abstract The capability to build relationships is important in doing pastoral ministry successfully. However, this factor is often neglected by a pastoral counsellor or pastoral caregiver. Many pastoral counsellors tend to improve their technical skills rather than capability to build a good relationship with the client. As a consequence, many persons in trouble feel unaccepted by their pastoral counsellor, leading to the situation of helplessness. Using the method of Christopraxis, this article attempts to respond to such situation. Christopraxis places the attitude and works of Jesus, as witnessed in the Gospel, as the fundamental reference and resource for today’s ministerial works. In this case, Jesus’ praxis of friendship is employed as the model of relationships in pastoral ministry. It is suggested that a pastoral ministry inspired by the radical and open friendship model that Jesus practised would off er a better approach than the feudalistic and paternalistic ones, commonly practised in Indonesia. Abstrak Kemampuan membangun relasi merupakan faktor penting dalam keberhasilan pelayanan pastoral. Sayangnya faktor ini sering diabaikan oleh para konselor dan pelayan pastoral. Banyak konselor cenderung hanya meningkatkan keterampilan teknis ketimbang kemampuan membangun relasi dengan klien. Akibatnya, banyak orang bermasalah merasa kurang diterima oleh konselor mereka. Hal itu menimbulkan keputusasaan. Menggunakan metode Kristopraksis, artikel ini berupaya menjawab situasi tersebut. Kristopraxis menempatkan sikap dan pekerjaan Yesus, sebagaimana dipersaksikan dalam Injil, sebagai acuan dan sumber bagi pelayanan gerejawi masa kini. Dalam hal ini, praksis persahabatan Yesus digunakan sebagai model relasi dalam pelayanan pastoral. Disarankan bahwa pelayanan pastoral yang terinspirasi model persahabatan Yesus yang radikal dan terbuka akan menawarkan pendekatan yang lebih baik ketimbang pelayanan yang feodalistik dan paternalistik yang sering dijalankan di Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstrak Latar belakang masalah buku ini adalah fenomena gereja yang kaku. Menggunakan metode etnography, buku ini merupakan sebuah bahan diskusi yang menarik tentang gereja, anak muda dan budayanya. Penulis menghubungkan budaya (populer), anak muda, dengan narasi Injil untuk menghasilkan apa itu gereja. Ia menawarkan eklesiologi gereja yang lebih cair, adaptif dan responsif terhadap akar-akar budaya sehari-hari yang dihidupi. Bagian-bagian setelahnya berisi diskusi tentang bentuk-bentuk praktis yang sangat memungkinkan dari konsep gereja yang cair. Akhirnya, anjuran sikap mental dan spiritual agar sebuah gereja tetap cair dan freshbagi komunitas di dalam dan di sekitarnya adalah keterbukaan. Buku memperkaya diskusi di ranah eklesiologi, liturgi, pembangunan jemaat, pastoral, budaya populer, dan intergenerasional. Abstract Rationale background of this book is the solid phenomenon of church. Using ethnography methods, this book is an interesting discussion about the church, young people and its culture. The author associate (popular) culture, young people, with gospel narratives to produce what the church is. He offers a more fluid, adaptive and responsive ecclesiology as the roots of everyday culture of church that is lived. This study also recommends the very practical forms of a liquid church. The final suggestion as a mental and spiritual attitude so that church remains liquid and fresh, is openness. This book shares a rich discourse in the field of ecclesiology, liturgy, church building, pastoral, popular culture, and intergenerational culture.
