Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is aimed at studying aesthetic communication and its values in folk theatre per- formance, sandiwara Cirebon. This qualitative research with communication ethnography approach tries to scrutinize the event of sandiwara performance as communication event between the society in Cangkring village, Plered, Cirebon. The result shows that the aesthetic of sandiwara Cirebon has values, they are, feeling-experience values and socio-cultural values. Aesthetic values which are in- herent in the event of sandiwara Cirebon performance is an expression and reflection based on world views, beliefs, and values adopted by local people in the socio cultural life. To interpret those values, communication participant, artists, and public construct meaning of aesthetic communication based on communication context included in sandiwara Cirebon performance, namely contexts of intra- personal, public, culture, and transcendental. Keywords: Communication, Aesthetic, Ethnography, Performance, Theatre.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives and targets in this study was to determine the effect of learning models and the ability dance movement toward early childhood emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize emotions, managing emotions, motivating oneself, recognizing emotions of others (empathy) and the ability to build relationships (cooperation) with other people. The research method used in this study is the experimental method. In the experiment, there are two groups of subjects namely experimental group and control group. Because the research hypothesis is the hypothesis of interaction, then the most appropriate design is factorial desig;n, factorial design used was 2 x 2 fac- torial design. Treatment variable is the learning model, are considered to be a model student center and a teacher center, while the variable attribute is the ability to dance, dance movement capabilities are classified into high and low dance movement. The results showed that there are significant learn- ing model and the ability to dance on the emotional intelligence of young children. The implications obtained in this study that the experience of dance movement with a model of student learning center is an important cornerstone in the development of emotional intelligence since early childhood. Based on the best learning implications Art Culture and Skills should give students experience in dance movement. With that in mind, the potential students will be able to develop optimally. Kata Kunci: Learning model, dance movement, and  emotional  intelligence

Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia’s girls’ comics introduced in early 2000, mainly developed by girl comic artists, in- tended for girls readers and heavily emphasized girls’ romance as story theme. Girls’ comic is one of pop culture media that creates a unique visual language system through construction of its visual storytelling structure. This is an explanatory research that applies visual storytelling structure anal- ysis in order to depict its visual narrative elements and structure in girls’ comics. This research will extract the uniqueness of girls’ comics’ visual storytelling structure and visual language system. As the result, girls’ comics are amplification of characters, emotional visual backgrounds, and emotional transition which marked by establishing shots as sequence margin in its visual storytelling structure and visual language system. Keywords: girls’ comics, structure analysis, visual storytelling, visual language.

Abstract

ABSTRACT There are two sides of the paradox associated with the problem of dance formulation and catego- rization that can not be regarded easily. On the one hand, dance is a phenomenon of complexity, in which the intertextuality will embody a complicated contextual phenomenon. On the other hand, the step of categorization has a nature which facilitates someone to observe the existing various phenom- ena in a similarity of properties that tend to lead to a simplification.The development of very fast-moving art is not often followed by adequate category and categori- zation for the purpose of the study. This paper attempts to restore awareness of the concept of corpo- reality with the reality of the complexity, and reconsider and formulate the dance categorization in a creative tradition occured in Urban communities in Bandung in the period of 2000 to 2011. Keywords: corporeality, complexity, categorization, and dance.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Discussing traditional batik is related a lot to the organization system of fine arts element ac- companying it, either the pattern of the motif or the technique of the making. In this case, the motif of Mega Mendung Cirebon certainly has patterns and rules which are traditionally different from the other motifs in other areas.Through  semiotics analysis especially with Saussure and Pierce concept, it can be traced that batik with Cirebon motif, in this case Mega Mendung motif, has parole and langue system, as unique fine arts language in batik, and structure of visual syntagmatic and paradigmatic. In the context of batik motif as fine arts language, it is surely related to sign system as symbol and icon.   Keywords: visual semiotic, Cirebon’s batik.

Abstract

ABSTRACT History and literature are two of the many ways to describe the reality. These two ways have a difference extremely. History must be tightly based on fact, while literature is fictional and imagina- tive. However, between these two extreme points there is a slice. Its means that in history there is in certain limits an element of imagination and in literature there is an element of fact although just a name. Therefore, the reality of history can be used as a raw material of literature. In turn, therefore literature can critically be used as a source of history. In Tatar Sunda there are a number of literary works, especially in the form of lyrics Tembang Sunda, which the material is taken from historical facts. The name most widely used materials of lyrics are Pajajaran and Siliwangi. Abstract

ABSTRACT This article explains the result of Sa’Unine String Orchestra as one of Indonesian orchestras in popular culture. Main idea of this research is to uncover and describe the characteristic, func- tion, and role of Sa’Unine String Orchestra within the popular culture in Indonesia. This research used qualitative method with ethnographical approaches to identify all facts that discovered during research. The conclusions of this research show that Sa’Unine String Orchestra moves in two ways, there are; the idealism which had a vision to create a real Indonesian string orchestra and a part of music industry. At the end, these two ways are connected to each other because of the earnings of those. Music industry becomes a support factor which create the idealism of Sa’Unine String Or- chestra to be an Indonesian String Orchestra. Keywords: String Orchestra, Music, Popular Culture.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The title of this article is Application of Synectic Learning Model in Kampung Seni & Wisata Manglayang, Bandung regency. This paper is motivated by the idea of conceptualization necessities of learning in art studios which provide learning services to the visitors, especially of the early ages. The research used a qualitative paradigm with pseudo experiment approach of one short case study applying Synectic Learning Model that is an approach to develop creativity, to enhance problem- solving skills, creative expression, and to develop empathy in social relationships. Through its ap- plication the art learning activities in the studio visitation program is more meaningful and able to develop ideas and enhance creative activities of the students. Keywords: Synectic Learning Model.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Mun-Tangan Alif is a Sundanese drama which is full of religiosity depicting one who is going through the steps toward the Creator (God). Sunda cosmology in this drama reveals the existing life in dasaring bumi, madyapada, and jabaning langit. The religiosity of Mun-Tangan Alif represents the human being’s consciousness as the God’s creation with obedience and appropriate efforts to be always in His ways. The awareness of time cycle and struggle for the highest degree gives the under- standing to reach the true life with truth values, either in Sunda or Islam. Analysed by using Pavis method, it can be seen that Mun-Tangan Alif can mediate the people’s consciousness of how to be Sundanese in exploring, understanding, and applying local (Sundanese) wisdom in life. Keywords: Sunda cosmology, local wisdom, drama.

Abstract
