Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between business model of bank's risk in Islamic banks in Indonesia. Bank risk is represented by Z-score, while business model is represented in two ways, namely the portion of fee based income in income structure and the portion of non deposit funding in funding structure. This study analyzed panel data observed through the data 33 Islamic banks in Indonesia in 2005 to 2015. The results of this study concluded that the overall size of data portion of fee based income effect on the risk of bank, while the magnitude of portion of non deposit funding is not effect on bank's risk. Then, for robustness checks, We conducted a regression between variables to categorize Islamic banks into large and small Islamic banks. In the category of large banks, both fee based income and non deposit funding did not affect bank’s risk, while for banks categorized as small, the magnitude of portion of fee based income has an influence on risk of bank, while the magnitude of portion of non deposit funding has no effect the bank's risk.

Abstract

In the middle of highly competitive tourism market, development of successful destination image is paramount towards memorable experience for visitors. This study aims to support tourism stakeholders from the service providers and national tourism by analyzing, and extracting meaningful patterns from social media, e.g. Twitter, based on destination image information. This data plays an important role for destination marketers to distinguish their destination among others based on Twitter Statistics and key public opinion towards destination image attributes. London and New York were used as destination cities under the analysis of text mining with the concept linkage approach. Results shows five distinct keywords attributed to each city. Each keyword found to be relevant in representing the image of destination cities based on the public opinion on Twitter. For keyword “Culture and Cultural”, term "British” and "Black" represent London and New York the best, respectively. In keyword “Entertainment”, term "James Bond" and "Broadway" represent London and New York, respectively. In keyword “Festival”, term "Lumiere" and “Global Citizen Festival” are best in describing city of London and New York, respectively. In keyword “Food”, term "traditional British food" best describes London and "Food truck" best describes New York. The keyword “Shopping” exhibits term "Etsy" as the image of London and “Kate Spade" as the image for New York. This research reveals the value of social media analysis and the ability of text mining as an effective technique to extract opinions from vast amount of available social media data. Recommendations related to tourism strategic plan are made to facilitate possible future destination image studies.

Abstract

This paper examines whether health CSR activities – CSR activities concerning health and well being of mothers and children – conducted by companies will promote perceived quality of life, consumers’ brand attitude, and customers’ loyalty, with subjective well-being serves as moderating variable. The research will use both exploratory and conclusive researches. Surveys were conducted in two cities in Indonesia, Makassar and Surabaya. The subjects of this research are customers of three companies operating in Indonesia, namely Pertamina, Danone-Aqua, and Frisian Flag, and also people in the communities exposed to the companies’ health CSR activities. These companies are chosen due to their continuous health CSR activities during the past years. The total number of respondents are 240 respondents, consists of 90 customers and 30 community members from each city. The data were analyzed using multiple regressions to test 9 research hypotheses. The result shows that different motivations were generated from different CSR activities by all three brands, and had different path to influence social and business performance.

Abstract

Environmental issue such as global warming become highlight issue in the world. Some environmental issue pointed out as the effect of consumer behavioural which ignored the effect of purchasing to the environmental conservation. For this time environmental issue becoming the important factor for consumer in considering product choosing, even in choosing diapers. This study aims to examine the influence of value orientations on ecological knowledge and ecological affect. This research also aims to investigate the influence of ecological knowledge on ecological affect, also to investigate the influence of ecological knowledge, ecological affect, internal locus of control on green purchase intention. Sampling method is nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire survey. The  sample in this study consisted of 229 women aged over 17 years old and who have children aged 0 to 24 months in Yogyakarta. The study was based on confirmatory model. Structural equation modeling (SEM) by using AMOS  statistical  program  used  to  test  validity  and  reliability  of  the  instrument,  the goodness of fit model and the relationship hypothesized in the theoretical model proposed. Findings from structural models have proved nearly all the hypothesized relationships. This study reveals that value orientations has a positive effect on ecological knowledge but the effect of value orientations on ecological affect is not supported. Ecological knowledge has a positive effect on ecological affect. Ecological knowledge and internal locus of control has a positive effect on green purchase intention, but the effect of ecological affect on green purchase intentions is not supported.

Abstract

As competition between restaurants getting fiercer, restaurant owners need to be able to differentiate themselves with other restaurants to attract and retain more customers. Offering ethnic-themed foods and ambiance is regarded as one of strategy to differentiate between one restaurant and the others. At the heart of this strategy, restaurant owners are encouraged to offer authentic and distinct dining experience so that people are attracted and willing to revisit the restaurant. Customers perceive dining experience by recognizing the clues exposed during service delivery process or what usually called as service clues. This paper aims to explore how customers perceive about service clues and how it affects their dining experience at an ethnic-themed restaurant. This paper uses a qualitative approach and proposes an enhanced service blueprint to obtain deeper understanding about customer dining experience. The findings show the role of service clue in shaping up customer experience in an ethnic-themed restaurant. Each clue contributes differently in building customer dining experience.
