Abstract

Strengthening character education (SCE) is the process of determining, transforming, and developing students' skills in thinking, acting and behaving according to Pancasila values. SCE at madrasah has the function of sorting out and choosing a more civilized and respectable culture of Indonesia and foreign cultures. As a manifestation of the National Movement of the Mental Revolution (NMMR), that is changing the pattern of thinking, acting and behaving better. Religious, nationalist, independent, gotong royong, and integrity are the main values that should be inculcated through the national education system, especially in Madrasahs. Hopefully, all students know, understand and apply to every aspect of life, wherever and whenever located.

Punishment is something that is prescribed and one of the most successful educational tools that educators may require from time to time. But there is a very excessive use of this mean, making it as if the dangerous tool and resulted in the opposite. A teacher is required to provide the best for his students, including punishment. Do not let when giving the punishment, stuents looked at it as a torture. The educational tool in the form of punishment is something unpleasant in return for a bad deed. But keep in mind that in the punishment, a teacher must have the motivation for giving punishment that can be a good motive for the learners. Indeed, the purpose of imposing punishment in Islamic Education is nothing but to provide guidance and improvement. Therefore, it should be noted the character and condition of the child must be concerned before a teacher sentenced him. By understanding the meaning of punishment in Islamic Education based on al-Qur'an and hadith, it is expected that punishment could generate positive meaning to the learners.

Learning activities in formal schools are experiencing saturation. Standardized learning process routines no longer prioritize the creative ideas of every student because everything must be linearly patterned in the classroom. Learning outside the classroom does not simply move the lessons out of the classroom, but is done by bringing students together with nature and performing some activities that lead to the realization of changes in students' behavior toward the environment through stages of awareness, understanding, concern, responsibility and action or behavior. AKIK Learning (Active, Creative, Inspirational and Communicative) is a learning activity that emphasizes student activeness, teacher creativity that stimulates students' creativity, inspires students to continue to learn and apply it in real life everyday, and demands students to be able to communicate the learning result both orally and in writing.
