Abstract

Landslides are one of the causes of the collapse of the transmission tower of PT PLN (Persero) which caused power outages, therefore monitoring the shifting of the transmission tower tread is very necessary so that power outages due to the collapsed tower can be anticipated faster. In this study the authors made a study to monitor tower shifts by using Ultrasonic sensors and LVDT sensors (Linear Variable Differential Transducer), Ultrasonic sensors function to detect shifts from towers and LVDT sensors function to detect shifts from the left and right tread tower ground. In this research, there are three main sensors, namely 2 LVDT sensors and one Ultasonic sensor - each sensor is placed in a safe position from interference and has the least possibility of being affected by landslides, Ultrasonic sensors read the tower shift towards the sensor mounted on the center side and LVDT sensors read the shift ground tread tower on the left and right side of the tower. The sensor sends the signal then is converted by the ATMega 8535 microcontroller into a millimeter unit for LVDT sensors and centimeter meter for Ultrasonic sensors. To find out the changes that occur in the tower and tower ground. Every change in distance or the occurrence of a microcontroller shift sends event data in the form of tower numbers and tower shift distances from each sensor reading using SMS (Short Message Service) communication. The installed LVDT sensor has a reading accuracy rate of 98,05% for LVDT 1 and 98,98% for LVDT 2 in millimeters and an Ultrasonic sensor has a reading accuracy rate of 99,44% in centimeters.

Abstract

Vegetable waste is leftover vegetables that are withered and rotting. Usually, vegetable waste becomes garbage that ends up in a landfill. These wastes still contain high water content and have the potential to be used as animal feed or compost. However, there are obstacles to its utilization. The main obstacle in utilizing vegetable waste to be used as animal feed is the size of the vegetable waste, which tends to be too large so that it cannot be used directly as animal feed. Therefore, we need technology that can simplify the enumeration process. A vegetable waste chopping machine is one of the right counter technologies for utilizing vegetable waste. The vegetable waste chopping machine is designed to use a horizontal shaft and is driven by an AC electric motor with a power of 1 hp. Pulley and belt mechanisms are used to reduce rotation and transmit power from the motor to the chopping blade. This chopping machine uses a half-helix blade arrangement and a parallel arrangement. Tests were carried out on this machine to determine the advantages of selecting the half helix blade arrangement pattern compared to the parallel blade arrangement pattern and the chopping capacity possessed by the machine. In this study, an experiment was carried out using a rotational speed of 1800 rpm. The chopping machine with the half helix blade arrangement has a chopping capacity of 231.4 kg/hour, more significant than the parallel blade arrangement. Keywords: chopping machine, vegetable waste, helical blade

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technological innovation that is widely used in science, including the field of health sciences. An intelligent health monitoring system for elderly patients is only one of the IoT applications that might be developed in the field of health sciences. This system must be implemented so that doctors can ascertain the patient's status and that patients can be monitored from home rather than having to visit the hospital for checkups. Therefore, a device is required to make it simpler for patients and medical professionals to check the three vital signs—heart rate, oxygen saturation, and body temperature. Vital signs are a variety of physiological statistical measurements that are used to assess a patient's health state, particularly in elderly people (elderly) who are ill or at risk. With the use of this instrument, the patient can provide the doctor with information on his vital signs, making it simpler for the doctor to identify the patient's condition and treat the patient. This tool's design makes use of the MAX30100 sensor, which measures oxygen saturation and heart rate. Then comes the MLX90614 sensor, which measures body temperature. The microcontroller (ESP32) processes the sensor before sending the data to the MySQL database. The percentage accuracy rate for testing the heart rate is 96.15%, the percentage accuracy level for testing the oxygen level is 97.4%, and the percentage accuracy level for testing the body temperature is 98.3%.
