Abstract

The depletion of the availability of energy that cannot be produced, such as oil and coal used as fuel for Steam Power Plants (PLTU) and Diesel Power Plants (PLTD) Other alternatives are needed to produce electrical energy and minimize emissions resulting from the combustion process that can be caused by heating global warming, air pollution and the depletion of the ozone layer. For this reason, renewable energy such as Micro Hydro Power Plants (PLTMH) can be needed to meet the electrical energy needs of the community that are environmentally friendly. In this study discusses Generator Power Analysis Using 4 Turbine Blades Type Whirlpool Micro Hydro Power Plant. Data collection in this study was carried out through five tests using the same water discharge of 0.00625 m3/s. So that the final results obtained data in the form of the highest generator power of 11.11 watts, the largest turbine power of 0.570 watts, the highest torque of 0.059 Nm and the best turbine efficiency of 4.05%.

Abstract

Inventory systems have an important role to support business operations so as to achieve maximum profit. An inventory planning and control technique relates to the optimal amount of inventory that a company must have and also affects inventory costs. If the condition of the company has the right amount of inventory can make the company avoid shortages or excess supplies. Thus, inventory control is important in the ongoing business activities, one of which is in UD Wijaya. UD Wijaya as a micro, small and medium enterprise that has the production of bags with 2 types of fabric, namely CCI fabric and D300 fabric. The owner of the business always maintains the quality of raw materials used to maintain the smooth process of production. But the fact that the use of inventory control systems is still simple and minimal will be a good theory and based on estimates only. With these conditions there is often a buildup of raw materials in the market because the needs of raw materials are not adjusted to production needs so that the increase in expenditure costs will also increase. The purpose of the study was to determine the amount of inventory control using the EOQ and EPQ methods and determine the total minimum supply based on both methods. The results obtained showed that the EOQ and EPQ methods have almost the same amount of bag raw material inventory control, namely for CCI fabric types as much as 229 Roll and D300 fabric types as many as 170 Rolls.  But in the EPQ method has the minimum total inventory cost. As for the total cost that must be incurred for the supply of raw materials of CCI fabric type amounting to Rp. 14,688,190 and for raw materials of D300 fabric type amounting to Rp. 10,040,780 So it is concluded that the Economic Production Quantity method can be used in the inventory control system in UD Wijaya.

Abstract

Electricity is one of the sources of energy used by humans which is produced through a power generation system. Electricity providers in Indonesia are still not evenly distributed, even in remote areas, there are still many that have not been reached by electricity. With this problem, one of the renewable power plants that can be utilized is the PLTMH system (Microhydro Power Plant). The greater the discharge of water, the greater the power generated by the turbine but with a shorter time. Vice versa if the water discharge that comes out is less then the power generated by the turbine is getting smaller but with a long time. The results show a whirlpool turbine using 6 blades with a water volume of 58 L and a sluice gate opening 7 cm produces a water discharge of 0.00625 m3/s with Water Power 14.10 Watt, , Generator Power 11.12, Torque 0.0077N.m, Turbine Power 0.72 Watt and Efficiency 5.1%.

Abstract

Kelelahan (fatigue) adalah bentuk kegagalan yang terjadi pada struktur yang mengalami tegangan dinamis dan berfluktuasi, akibat dari kondisi lingkungan kerja di industri yang tidak terlalu memperhatikan bagian-bagian komponen yang bisa mengalami kegagalan, banyak kasus yang menimbulkan kecelakaan kerja akibat kegagalah suatu bahan tersebut. Dengan ketersediaan alat pengujian yang sudah ada dan mudah didapatkan, pencegahan dari kegagalan suatu komponen bisa di hindari dengan alat pengujian kelelahan yang bisa memprediksi umur kelelahan suatu bahan, hasil penelitian ini juga akan sangant bermanfaat bagi mahasiswa politeknik kotabaru dan dosen dalam pemahaman ilmu bahan pada pengujian poros. Hasil pengujian alat menunjukan hasil yang  baik, dengan menggunakan standar ASTM E466 pada ketiga spesimen yang telah di uji, dapat dilihat pada jumlah siklus dengan menggunakan sensor pembaca putaran yang langsung muncul pada layar monitor dengan memberikan 3 jenis pembebanan dengan hasil pada spesimen 3 dengan suklus terendah pada beban pengujian lelah 22 kgf sebesar 9418 siklus, sedangkan jumlah siklus yang paling banyak terjadi pada pengujian kelelahan pada spesimen 1 dengan pembebanan pengujian lelah  14 kgf sebesar 348677 siklus. Kondisi material dan sifat ketahanan lelah material memiliki hubungan yang sangat erat. Setiap penambahan beban pada spesimen uji akan memperpendek siklus atau ketahanan lelah material. Penambahan beban berarti juga menambah tegangan pada spesimen, batas aman beban dapat diketahui dari perhitungan dan pengujian (Kurva S-N) berada pada daerah dibawah beban sebesar 14 kgf atau tegangan sebesar  273,27 MPa.

Abstract

Electrical energy is energy that has an important role for society. One of the benefits of electrical energy is for lighting. The need for electricity in the world today is very large. The source of energy used to obtain electricity is still mostly using oil and gas and coal, where oil and gas on earth is very limited, and at some point it is estimated that it will run out. With this problem, one of the renewable power plants that can be utilized is the MHP system (Microhydro Power Plant). MHP is a small-scale hydroelectric power plant by utilizing water from irrigation canals, dams, and rivers that have low head. The utilization of this power can be done by converting it into mechanical energy using a screw turbine type water turbine (Screw Archimedes) with a discharge of 0.01 m³/s, a length of 870 mm, a thread diameter of 350 mm, a shaft diameter of 190 mm with a shaft thickness of 5 mm, 6 blades which divided into 2 threads and a shaft tilt angle of 35°. This research was conducted to simulate the performance of a screw turbine using solidworks software. This study serves to obtain critical points due to fluid pressure on the screw turbine and to analyze the water fluid when the screw turbine is operated.

Abstract

The era of industrial globalization 4.0 implements a computerized production system automatically so that not many workers will operate production machines. Every business activity must have a risk of work accidents. PT. Sumber Mas Indah Plywood is one of the successful companies characterized by export-oriented product income in 5 major countries. With the level of demand that has spread to various countries, the company must always improve the quality of the products produced. The higher the level of productivity of a company, the greater the danger or risk of work that will be posed. The purpose of this study is to conduct an analysis process consisting of hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control using hirarc method. The results showed that there are 3 work stations. In rotary stations there are 4 work activities, at dryer station there are 3 work activities and at repair stations there are 1 work activities. The results of the identification of potential hazards using hirarc method identified there are 10 potential hazards, where there is 1 potential danger including extreme risk level, 6 potential hazards including high risk level, 2 potential hazards including moderate risk level and 1 potential hazard included low risk level.

Abstract

One of the important assets for the sustainability of a company is human resources or workers. However, companies often ignore the needs and comfort of workers. Not a few companies that do not apply methods in accordance with standard procedures, as well as work facilities that do not support the process of their workers' activities. Ergonomic aspects must be considered in the work process so that it will not cause complaints on the workers' body parts. Complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) are one of the threats caused by discomfort in body position while working. The risk of developing Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) complaints is analyzed in this study by observing the worker's body posture in routine activities carried out in development projects. The analysis was carried out using the RULA method which provides an assessment of each position of the worker's upper body. Based on the results of data processing using the RULA method, a score level for the posture of workers in plastering activities is worth 5. The score indicates a moderate level of risk, therefore further investigation is needed to make changes as soon as possible.

Abstract

Human resources play a very significant role in the running of an organization or company to manage the running of the company's system optimally so that it can support the achievement of the goals of the organization or company. But the problem that is often faced by companies today is how to create human resources that can produce optimal performance and in accordance with what the company expects. This research was conducted at a fertilizer plant in the city of East Java with the main activity of supplying national fertilizer needs. This company includes advanced companies so the demand for fertilizer production is also increasing. With these conditions, the role of employees becomes an important factor for the company in realizing the vision and mission of the company. The company always strives to improve the internal quality of the company in order to compete with competing companies. One of the efforts made is an assessment of employee performance and team work. The purpose of research is to assess the influence and interrelationships between dependent variables (organizational culture) and independent (employee performance and team work). This research population is employees in fertilizer companies who understand the problems and people who are experts in their fields to ensure the data generated is relevant and in accordance with the purpose of the research. The sample used to fill out the variable questionnaire amounted to 52 employees.The methods used are statistical analysis of multiple linear regression, test F and coefficient of determination. The results of research and analysis conducted by researchers showed that independent variables namely team work (X1) and employee performance (X2) simultaneously or together had a positive influence and significance on dependent variables namely organizational culture (Y). Or in other words, if the dependent variable increases, it will be accompanied by an increase in independent variables.

Abstract

Micro hydro power plant (PLTMH), is a small-scale power plant that uses hydropower as its driving force, such as irrigation canals, rivers or natural waterfalls by utilizing the head and the amount of water discharge. The purpose of this study was to determine how the effect of water discharge on the performance of a whirlpool turbine type micro hydro power plant and how much power was produced by a whirlpool turbine type micro hydro power plant. The process in this study was carried out by analyzing the performance of a micro hydro power plant consisting of tube volume, water discharge, water power, turbine power generator power, torque and turbine efficiency. The results of this study are the best potential for water discharge produced by a micro hydro power plant of the whirlpool turbine type prototype is in the third experiment with a discharge of 0.00625 m³/s with a turbine power of 0.54 Watt and a power generated by a generator 10, 53 Watts. The efficiency of the whirlpool turbine prototype micro hydro power plant was also obtained in the third experiment with a turbine efficiency value of 3.8%. Micro hydro power plants are very influential on the height of the fall of water into the turbine, the higher the fall of water, the greater the power generated.
