Abstract

The Indonesian architectural city growth and development are strongly influenced by their heterogenity of sociocultural lives. each region produces various cultural artifacts that traditionally accommodate cultural concepts and noble values in every social activity and environmental arrangement around it. . This existence makes all provinces and regions of Indonesia have a distinctive building typology as a regional symbol that will be found at the region. The Bandar Lampung City Government has a special policy in managing city architecture by applying its cultural artifacts to every architectural environment and fostering it as a concept of regional cultural signs and symbols. Siger is one of the various regional sign concepts that emerge as an architectural sign on public buildings and their built environment in Bandar Lampung City. The implementation this concept is done with a variety of shapes and sizes that greatly affect the architectural form of the building. This inequality needs to be systematically facilitated through the search of scientific design and architecture to produce an ideal application model. This research was conducted using qualitative ethnographic research methods with analysis based on participant descriptive and argumentative observation. The study aims to identify siger as a sign of culture and reveal the relationship of application to the facade of public building architecture, through the classification of buildings. Furthermore, the design concept and the application model of Siger will be used as a proposal for the city government in managing the order of the architecture facade of public buildings and their environment in a sustainable manner.  Key words: architecture of Bandar Lampung City, Siger, model of architectural facade management

Abstract

Patient and visitor’s satisfaction is an indicator of the healthcare facility’s quality in hospital. One of the healthcare facilities in hospital is polyclinic area. Indonesia is committed to building a manufacturing industry that is globally competitive through accelerating the implementation of Industry 4.0. In this industrial revolution, there was a big leap where information and communication technology was fully utilized. The health industry also experienced this impact. The digital era in health facilities is a challenge to be better at providing health services to the community. Patient and visitor of health facility are those who are not familiar with the hospital environment and often have poor emotional and physical conditions. Therefore, it required a physical environment that can support the convenience of visitors, especially in the ease of finding the destination. One of the parameters of “design that cares” is to providing convenience for patient and visitor in finding purpose (wayfinding) and oriented in the building. This study is in the form of library research and uses descriptive analysis methods that take samples of patients and visitors of the RSIA Limijati Polyclinic, Bandung. Data were collected by accidental sampling technique through interview, observation, and questionnaire. This research is expected to provide solution to wayfinding design problem related to hospital user’s characteristics, especially polyclinic area.  Key words: polyclinic, orientation, wayfinding

Abstract

The design in the next 30 to 100 years is a vision of industrial desainers to be able to provide an overview or exposure to the government, companies, industry players and the public, how this future product is projected (pictured) into a mature mind and can be realized according to provisions in his time. This depiction needs to be exploited through design education science. Without the knowledge of design education, thinking in this design cannot be described. Describe what is meant is "design process". Methods Research in the concept vehicle design uses qualitative methods and uses analysis and design that includes background, issue, problem solving, purpose and benefits of design, concept design, image board, image chart, mood board, keyvisual, keyword, brainstorming sketches, developing sketches, detailing sketches, final sketches, Computer Aided Industrial Design (3D Design), and final 3D. Conclusions from the results of designing future vehicle concepts can be continued as a result of further research in the role of scientific design in industrial design and transportation. The ability of Indonesian desainers, especially in the field of industry and transportation, has been able to move internationally as desainers of international-level vehicles. Key words: transportation design, vehicle design, vehicle concept

Abstract

One important aspect in shoe design is a matter of comfort, which is determined by dimensions and the shape of shoe last which is influenced by the design of the master shoe last. The use of 3D scanners, 3D printers, and CAD / CAM systems in the process of master shoe last design and production of shoe last can improve the quality of shoe products. However, the application of technology to the IKM implies the need to increase HR capabilities and substantial investment. This indicates the need for involvement of government and institutions / R & D institutions or universities. Therefore, to improve the design of university competencies in mastering technology, curriculum needs to be designed that refers to the competence of designer work in accordance with the progress / development of digital technology in the process of design and production. Key words: industry 4.0, Small and Medium Industries, master shoe last, quality

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the pattern of internet use as a source of inspiration for design students in the early stages of the design process. In the design process, words and images are factors that greatly influence creativity, and the internet makes it easy for students to access these data. The research conducted through distributing questionnaires to undergraduate product design students to determine their internet usage tendency in finding design inspiration. By knowing the pattern of internet usage and what sites they usually visit, we can find out the input quality that students get independently when looking for inspiration. This is an important aspect to avoid design fixation. The result shows that in the process of searching for inspiration through the internet, students tend to use sites that are general and have more visual data (such as pinterest) in the first place, then followed by searching more about linguistic data (design explanations, features, functions, etc.) (such as behance), and then the usage tend to be more diverse depending on each students style and preference. The use of search keywords is still dominated by references that are near and even exactly the same as the design categories they are developing (exp. searching car designs reference when designing cars). This enhances the possibility of design fixation. To enhance the quality of input obtained by students will be better and reduce the possibility of design fixation, higher education institution could make the finding inspiration process in a more structured system such as lectures or other formal method. Key words: product design, early phase design, internet, creativity, design education
