Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of empathy training through emotional expression cards on helpful behavior and aggressive behavior in preschool children. The subjects of this study are the group B children of Bina Anak Sholeh kindergarten Tuban. It uses purposive random sampling technique. A total of 28 children were sampled and divided into 14 children as experimental and control group. The instruments used are image tests of helpful behavior and aggressive behavior. Data were analyzed by using Mann Whitney U Test to test two independent samples using SPSS 16 for windows. From the data analysis, it is known that hypotheses 1, 2, and 3 are accepted, namely 1) The positive effect of empathy training through emotional expression cards on helpful behavior and aggressive behavior in experimental and control group; 2) The positive effect of empathy training through emotional expression cards on helpul behavior of preschool children; 3) There is a negative effect of empathy training through emotional expression cards on aggressive behavior of preschool children.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) find out the implementation of group guidance and social adjustment level of grade 1 students of SDN Kedondong 01, (2) know the effectiveness of group guidance with traditional games to improve students social adjustment. This is a quantitative research using pre-test post-test one group design. The data analysis technique used is Wilcoxons Signed Rank Test which belongs to non parametric statistic. Based on the significant level 5% and N = 8 data analysis showed difference of scores between before and after implementing group guidance with traditional games technique. The result of field test shows that the group guidance model with traditional learning technique is effective to improve social adjustment of grade I students of SDN Kedondong 01. This is indicated by the change of social adjustment level of students before and after the implementation. that is an increase of 19%. Therefore it could be suggested to the counselor in elementary school to improve the utilization of traditional games in the implementation of group guidance as such a legacy to the scientific development.

Abstract

The aim of of this study is to know the influence of flash card media on the ability to recognize letters in children of group A children of Al-Kautsar kindergarten Surabaya. This study uses Pre Experimental Design research by using One Group Pretest - Posttest Design model. The subjects used were group A children amounted to 21 children. Data collection methods used are observation and documentation with data analysis technique using Wilcoxons Signed Rank Test. Based on data analysis obtained by using the Wilcoxons signed rank test obtained tcount = ttable or 7,4396 = 2,704, and Tcount <Ttabel (0 <59), so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, the study hypothesis that reads "there is influence of flash card media to the ability to recognize letters in children group A children of Al-Kautsar kindergarten Surabaya" has been proven.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the science ability of group B children of Tunas Harapan kindergarten 1 Tunggunjagir Mantup Lamongan before applying experimental method, and to know the science ability of group B children of Tunas Harapan kindergarten 1 Tunggunjagir Mantup Lamongan after applying experimental method. This study uses pre-experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection technique uses observation. The subjects of this study were 16 children. The validity instrument uses the validity construction test, while its reliability uses the observation reliability test with the formula presented by Fernandes. Data obtained in the field were analyzed by using data analysis technique of wilcoxon match pairs test. From the calculation results it is obtained the average scores of pre-test results amounted to 20.8 and the average scores of post-test results amounted to 26.8 with Tcount ≤ Ttable (0 ≤ 21). Thus, it could be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. That means the research hypothesis that there is influence of experimental methods on the science skills of group B children of Tunas Harapan Kindergarten 1 Tunggunjagir district Mantup Lamongan Regency is accepted.

Abstract

This is a qualitative study of a case study aimed at knowing the effectiveness of visual conversation system through picture cards to stimulate early childhood development with language and communication barriers. The subjects in this study were chosen through the procedure of determining the subjects in qualitative research proposed by Sarantakos (1993, in Poerwandari 2005), namely: 1) not directed to the large number of participants but in typical cases according to the specificity of the research problem, 2) not directed to representation in terms of numbers or random events, but to context matches. Based on the above explanation, the researcher then determines the general criteria of the subjects / participants of the study as follows: 1) The subjects are early childhood of group A or B kindergarten and 2) the subjects have language and cammunication barriers. Data collection methods are through observation, interviews, and informal assessments, as well as field notes documentation. Data analysis is performed by comparing the initial condition of subjects before being stimulated with the initial condition of the subjects after stimulation is performed. The results of data analysis show that the application of visual conversation system with themed picture cards can be used to help stimulate early childhood development with language and communication barriers.

Abstract

The development of motor functions is one of the dimensions of early childhood development that is important to note among other development dimensions. This is a fundamental part of the childs need to develop muscle, brain, and nerves, which is one of the basic developments at a later stage. Therefore, this dimension needs to get appropriate stimulation in accordance with the stages of child development, so that stimulation is given with the right portion. One of the most effective ways to develop children motor skills is through their favorite activities, such as fun and play activities. This paper tries to explain one of the fun activity alternatives that could be used to optimize the motor physical ability of children aged 3-4 years, ie through, among others, throwing ball games. It is hoped that this paper is useful for early childhood education practitioners, as well as parents in developing ways to stimulate the development of motor skills of early childhood through fun activities.

Abstract

The cultivation of Islamic moral values in early childhood Islamic education is a very important component. The strengthening of early childhood morality is one of the efforts to lay the foundation of moral development dimension which is expected to influence other development aspects, especially the socio-emotional development and spiritual intelligence of early childhood. Therefore, good strategies are needed in culticating and strengthening the students themselves. The strategies of cultivating moral values could affect the level of awareness of a person in understanding and implementing Islamic moral values. At an early age the sense of vision is more dominant than the sense of hearing, then a child will more absorb and imitate the behaviors of a teacher, so the teachers exemplary will be more effective in strengthening early childhood education. The teachers exemplary is the cultivation and at the same time the strengthening of noble values in each child.

Abstract

The problem in this research is "What is the outbound game development model to encourage the improvement of basic movement skill of Sayang Anak Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Sukamulia subdistrict, East Lombok, Academic Year 2005/2016?". The purpose of this research is to produce outbound game development model to encourage the improvement of basic movement skills of PAUD Sukamulia sub-district, East Lombok academic year 2015/2016 in physical motor learning to develop various aspects of learning and increase the physical activities of PAUD students. This research is a development research. The product development procedures include product analysis to be created, initial product development, expert validation and revision, small group trials and revision, large group trials and end products. Data collection methods are through questionnaires obtained from expert evaluation, observation and interview. Data analysis technique used is descriptive percentage. Based on the research data, it is concluded that the development of outbound games could encourage the improvement of basic movement skills effectively and in accordance with the characteristics of students so that it can be used in physical education learning in early childhood.

Abstract

This qualitative case study aimed to develop the functional reading and writing skills of mild mentally retarded children through whole word approach and VAKT strategy. The subject in this study was selected through the procedures of subject determination in qualitative research proposed by Sarantakos (1993, in Poerwandari 2005), namely: 1) not directed to the large number of participants but in typical cases according to the specificity of the research problem, 2) not directed to representation in terms of numbers or random events, but to context matches. Based on the above explanation, the researcher then determined the general criteria of the subjects / participants of the study as follows: 1) Subjects were children aged between 6-8 years old who were in kindergarten (group B) or elementary school (first grade or second grade), 2) subjects were children with mild mental retardation who have difficulty in developing functional reading and writing skills. Methods of data collection in this study were conducted through observation, interviews, and informal assessments, as well as documentation of field notes during data mining. Data analysis was performed by comparing the initial condition of the subject before stimulation implemented with the final condition of the subject after the stimulation completed. The results of data analysis indicated that the whole-word approach and VAKT strategy can be applied to develop the early functional reading and writing skills in children with mild mental retardation
