Abstract

Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is an acute infectious disease that attacks livestock, thus threatening the availability of food and the husbandry industry. This paper discusses the formulation of a mathematical model for the spread of FMD in livestock with a saturated incidence rate. The research method used is quantitative mathematical modeling with simulation, with stages including problem identification, determining assumptions, model formulation, analysis and model simulation. The discussion results obtained two equilibrium points, namely the non-endemic equilibrium point and the endemic equilibrium point, and then analyzed for stability. Numerical simulation is presented using Runge-Kutta approximation with MATLAB. Furthermore, after a sensitivity analysis, the parameters that greatly influenced the spread of FMD were direct or indirect contact (which led to the entry of the FMD virus) and the supporting capacity of livestock. Then the most influential parameter in reducing the spread of FMD is the application of culling on exposed animals and infected animals. The FMD modeling is a form of mathematical application to simulate the spread of disease on livestock.

Abstract

This study intended to investigate the creative thinking dispositions of students who can perform truth-seeking in solving mathematical problems. Truth-seeking behavior tends to show students' thinking disposition when they need to solve math problems. This behavior is very much needed by students in solving math problems, especially HOTS-type questions. This study is qualitative and employs a phenomenological approach. Three students from the Integrated Islamic Junior High School in Manokwari who sought the truth served as research subjects. Their answers on the answer sheets encouraged the determination of the subjects’ tendencies in truth-seeking and creative thinking. The results of thought-based and task-based interviews were then incorporated into the analysis to determine the creative thinking dispositions of truth-seeking students and the relationship between truth-seeking and creative thinking dispositions. The findings of this study indicate that all research subjects have diverse creative thinking dispositions; the more truth-seeker indicators that are met, the more creative thinking dispositions they possess. When solving mathematical problems, students tend to show how they think by how hard they try to find the truth. This result implies that it needs more research on the level of creative thinking disposition and how to increase students' true search.

Abstract

We are now in an era of very advanced technology. The world is entering the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is marked by increased communication, interaction and development of digital systems, artificial intelligence, and virtual. The industrial revolution 4.0 is also shown by the proliferation of computers and recording automation occurring in all fields. With the blurring of boundaries between machines, people and various resources. Through intelligence engineering and the internet of things. However, recently some researchers stated that the use of technology in education has not been maximized. This study aims to analyze the validity, practicality and effectiveness of discovery learning-based e-modules to improve students' creative thinking skills. The method used in this study is Research and Development with the ADDIE type. In the ADDIE technique, there are 5 stages consisting analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection instruments include validity questionnaires, effectiveness tests and practicality questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used in this study is a qualitative analysis technique consisting of data reduction, data presentation and data inference. The results of the study based on the assessment of material experts obtained an average of 70.00. The results of the media expert's assessment obtained an average of 88.30. Student responses get an average of 80.12. The results of the paired sample test have a significant (2-tailed) value of 0.000. The conclusion of this study is that the developed e-module is valid based on a validity questionnaire, practical based on a practicality questionnaire and effective based on an effectiveness test.

Abstract

Many high school students have difficulty learning probability material. Meanwhile, probability is very important to be applied in everyday life, for example, in estimating and drawing conclusions based on the analysis of an experiment. Therefore, students' understanding of probabilities needs to be improved through learning that invites students to real situations. This study aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of probability topics (counting, permutations, combinations, and probabilities) through ethnomathematical outdoor learning based on the game 'Gotri Ayo Gotri (GAG)' for XII Class senior high school. The research method is a classroom action research with the following cycle stages: planning, action, reflection, and evaluation. The research subjects were 33 students (20 female students and 13 male students). The research instrument was a learning outcome test about the probability of as many as five items. Data were analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study are as follows: outdoor learning based on the ethnomathematics of the game 'Gotri Ayo Gotri (GAG)' can improve mathematics learning outcomes on probability topics with an average score of cycle 1 of 65.91, cycle 2 of 79.97, and cycle three score of 89.97. The novelty in this research is the form of the traditional Bengkulu GAG game. As an alternative to learning, it is recommended for high school mathematics teachers to apply traditional game-based learning outside the classroom to increase motivation and learning outcomes in mathematics.

Abstract

Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) can effectively contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in all economic, social, and environmental dimensions, along with peace and security. Studying ICH in Indonesia cannot be separated from the spatial aspect of how an area's attributes are related to other areas located close to each other. Spatial regression modeling needs to be done by considering the selection of spatial weight matrix. Using the wrong spatial weight matrix will increase the standard error in parameter estimation. Therefore, this study aims to determine: the best spatial weight matrix to accommodate the spatial autocorrelation in analyzing the description of the spread of ICH in Indonesia; and the variables that are thought to influence the number of ICH determination in Indonesia. The spatial regression modeling used in this study is the Spatial Autoregressive (SAR) model and the spatial weight matrices compared in this study are queen contiguity and inverse distance. The best model is the SAR model used the queen contiguity spatial weight matrix because it has minimum values of AIC, BIC, RMSE and MAPE which are 310.397, 319.555, 18.857 and 57.169 respectively. Simultaneously, involved in performing arts, wearing traditional dress, knowing Indonesian folklore and the spatial lag contribute significantly to number of ICH determination in Indonesia. Partially, only knowing Indonesian folklore have a significant effect on number of ICH determination in Indonesia at significance level α=5%. Each additional 1% of population that knowing Indonesian folklore in an area increases number of ICH determination in that area by 0.6719 units .

Abstract

This study proposes a SVEIL model of tuberculosis disease spread with imperfect vaccination. Susceptible individuals can receive imperfect vaccination, but over the time the vaccine efficacy will decrease. Vaccinated individuals are in vulnerable class since they still have probability to get reinfected. The proposed model includes treatment for both high-risk latent and active TB patients. In fact, after getting appropriate treatment (get recovered) the individuals still have bacteria in their body and it is classified to low-risk laten class. Dynamical behaviour of the model is analyzed to understand the local stability equilibrium. The Routh-Hurwitz criterion is used to analyze the local stability equilibrium in disease free equilibrium (DFE) point and Center Manifold theorem is used to prove the local stability of the endemic equilibrium (EE) point. The local stability equilibrium state totally depends on the effective reproduction number R_v. If R_v<1 , then the DFE point is locally asymtotically stable, while if R_v>1 the EE point is locally asymptotically stable . The parameter used in this paper is based on the previous researches related to TB and the initial subpopulations are assumed. Numerical simulations show that the disease transmission rate affect the effective reproduction number, therefore it influences the stability of equilibrium points..

Abstract

Skin cancer is a disorder of cell growth in the skin. Skin cancer has a big impact, causing physical disabilities that can be seen directly and high treatment costs. In addition, skin cancer also causes death if nor treated properly. Generally, dermatologists diagnose the presence of skin cancer in the human body by using the Biopsy process. In this study, the Dilated Convolutional Neural Network method was used to classify skin cancer image data. Dilated Convolutional Neural Network method is a development method of the Convolutional Neural Network method by modifying the dilation factors. The Dilated Convolutional Neural Network method is divided into two stages, including feature extraction and fully connected layer. The data used in this study is HAM1000 dataset. The data are dermoscopic image datasets which consists of 10015 images data from 7 types of skin cancer. This study conducted several experimental scenarios of changes in the value of d, which are 2,4,6, and 8 to get the optimal results. The parameters used in this study are epoch = 100, minibatch size = 8, learning rate = 0.1, and dropout = 0.5. The best results in this study were obtained with value of d=2 with the value of accuracy is 85.67% and the sensitivity is 65.48%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the absorption of expenditure budgets at the Regional Apparatus Organization in South Tangerang City. The research sample is respondents who hold positions in areas related to the budget, including commitment-making officials, technical implementation officials, officials who sign pay warrants and expenditure treasurers at Regional Apparatus Organization in South Tangerang City. The research method used is quantitative method with multiple linear regression analysis tools. The variables in this study are five independent variables and one dependent variable, namely: budget planning (X1), administrative processes (X2), human resources (X3), goods and services procurement documents (X4), budget changes (X5), while one dependent variable is budget absorption (Y). The results showed that simultaneously budget planning, administrative processes, human resources, goods and services procurement documents, budget changes had a significant effect on the absorption of revenue and expenditure budgets at Regional Apparatus Organization s in South Tangerang City. Furthermore, partially budget planning and human resources have a significant effect on the absorption of revenue and expenditure budgets at Regional Apparatus Organization in South Tangerang City. However, partially administration, goods and services procurement documents, budget changes have no significant effect on the absorption of revenue and expenditure budgets at Regional Apparatus Organization in South Tangerang City. In this study the regression equation is as follows Y=5,964+0,246X_1-0,1X_2+0,239X_3-0,62X_4+0,176X_5.

Abstract

The Hatam tribe is one of the sub-tribes of the Arfak tribe. This study aims to explore the numeracy culture of the Hatam Tribe spoken by the Hatam Tribe community who inhabit Nuhuwei Village, Ransiki District. This research is ethnographic. The techniques used for data collection are interviews, exploration, literature study, desk study, and documentation. Interviews and explorations were conducted with several elders who spoke the Hatam language in Nuhuwei Village. Literature and documentation studies were conducted by looking for other sources of information related to the previously existing Hatam language to obtain accurate results. The Desk Study was conducted to find out the mathematical patterns of the Hatam Tribe. The results obtained from this study are that mathematically, the counting patterns spoken by the Hatam people who inhabit Nuhuwei Village have different dialects from the speech of the Hatam people who inhabit other areas. Besides that, another finding is that the pattern of mentioning numbers spoken by the Hatam tribe inhabiting Nuhuwei Village correlates with the counting pattern on the Jarimatika. We call this latest finding related to counting using the Hatam language-based Jarimatika as Himatam (Calculating Using Jarimatika in the Hatam language). This finding shows that learning numeracy for elementary students in Nuhuwei Village can be done more easily using the Himatam Method.

Abstract

Thinking is a cognitive way of generating ideas for problem-solving decision-making strategies. This study aims to analyze and describe intuitive thinking processes in solving students' mathematical assignments about geometry based on Van Hiele's theory. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were students of class VIIIA. The research location is one of the Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Pasuruan Regency. Credibility uses source data collection techniques using the VHGT test to determine the level of the subject, geometry problem tests, document studies, and interviews. The main instruments are researchers and supporters of geometry tests and interviews. The results of this study indicate that students who think intuitively through catalytic inference are obtained spontaneously and suddenly in completing the math tasks they face without using prior knowledge, and intuitively appear globally and use shortcuts. Whereas students who think intuitively with common sense are obtained directly and directly using the steps to complete mathematical tasks neatly and neatly, intuitively, the sequence of completing tasks appears by their experience and knowledge. Based on Van Hiele's level, students who think intuitively with catalytic inference are included in level 0 (visualization), and students who think intuitively with common sense are included in level 1 (analysis). Students who think intuitively with common sense can directly and immediately use the steps to complete math tasks neatly and neatly, intuitively appearing in the sequence of completing tasks according to their experience and knowledge. Based on Van Hiele's level, students who think intuitively with catalytic inference are included in level 0 (visualization), and students who think intuitively with common sense are included in level 1 (analysis).
