Abstract

Al-A’raf ayat 54, terdapat penggalan ayat: يُغۡشِى ٱلَّيۡلَ ٱلنَّہَارَ يَطۡلُبُهُ : Dia menutupkan malam kepada siang  yang mengikutinya dengan cepat. This study aims to identify scientific cues found in Qs. al-A'raf verse 54, and software that can be used to visualize it. Data obtained through literature studies with descriptive analysis. The results showed that in Qs. al-A'raf verse 54, there is a fragment of the verse: يُغۡشِى ٱلَّيۡلَ ٱلنَّہَارَ يَطۡلُبُهُ (translated: He closed the night to noon). The fragment of the verse can be read takhfif i.e. yughshi, (read tasydid: yughashshi). The fragment of the verse means that both of them cover each other one another - alternately (which follows) each of them follows the other quickly. In the verse contains scientific signals about the rotation and revolution of the earth that can be sensed by the daily pseudo motion of the sun, increasing and decreasing the intensity of sunlight on earth at midnight, dawn of kadzib (zodiacal light), dawn of shadiq (twilight), morning, afternoon, midday, evening, dusk and night. Rotation and revolution events can be visualized with animations using Microsoft Excel software, Microsoft Powerpoint, Macromedia Flash, Phet, and Modellus. Thus integrated science learning becomes more optimal.

Abstract

Describing student's metacognition difficulties and thinking the process in problem-solving static fluid material in each melancholic, sanguinic, phlegmatic, and choleric (Hippocrates - Galenus) personality type. This data analysis method uses a Likert scale as a measurement scale. The data analysis technique used was grouping data into four categories: Understanding The Problem, Devising A Plan, Carrying Out The Plan, Looking Back. The cause of students' metacognition difficulties caused by a lack of understanding the concept of physics, knowing symbols, formulations, notations, and calculations that will be done in each problem solving, and lack of understanding strategies in problem-solving. Students who had a melancholic, sanguinic, choleric personality type were students who had metacognition difficulties when understanding and solving the problem, and also had problems in considering strategies and realizing the use of using strategy. Students who had the Phlegmatic personality type were able to understand the problem by looking at the problem and then making an image so that it can change the information into the form of physics.

Abstract

This study is a literature review. The flipped classroom is the latest pedagogical model that has the potential to change the current traditional way of teaching. Flipped classroom emphasizes on learning activities that promote critical thinking and motivation among the students with the assistance of technology. The flipped classroom allows educators to move from ‘the sage on the stage’ to ‘the guide on the side. The basic and simplest form of flipped classroom is students are expected to watch digital resources prior to class. The students are then required to come prepared for class and perform hands-on activities that are related to the digital resources. The digital resources can be in any form such as video, audio or the internet. This allows teachers to spend more time with their students to carry out in class activities and allow immediate response to students’ needs. Student feedback on this pedagogy was generally very positive with many respondents considering it effective and helpful for learning. One of the biggest advantages mentioned by students is that they had the option to watch each video lecture as many times as required to be prepared for class.

Abstract

The use of a smartphone as a mobile learning tool in schools is controversial. On the one hand, the teacher prohibits it because it would interfere with the learning process in the classroom; and on the other hand, the teacher saw a lot of potentials can be used from mobile technology. The goal of this study is to describe how the development of secondary schools in Indonesia can facilitate students through the use of mobile learning with the hope that it can be taken at the school level policies to strengthen the existing learning system so that students can achieve optimal learning competencies. This research used descriptive qualitative evaluations to make observations on the application of mobile learning in several secondary schools in several regions in Indonesia during 2015. The results of this study indicate that some of the schools that have implemented mobile learning have a tendency that mobile learning was not planned and structured as a school program; so that the advantages of mobile technology has not been effectively used. Two important things to solve this condition are the availability of government policy and improving teachers literacy in managing mobile learning application.
