Abstract

One of the flood controls, especially in the downstream areas are barrage. Those are optimized using Ensemble Kalman filter based non linear predictive control. Ensemble Kalman Filter is used to predict water levels and flow of waters when it reaches the barrage. The results obtained from this method is then used as input for controlling the floodgates. Simulations are performed in three circumstances, namely the normal flow, flooding and drought. For normal flow, using optimum quantities are obtained from NMPC by opening the floodgates. Simulations were performed for 100 hours, with a gap of 5 per hour of observation. EnKf fulfilled with RMSE yields accuracy of the system and estimates of less than 1, RMSE debit is 0.5346 and RMSE water level is 0.2716. Furthermore the operation of the opening gate achieves optimum value, with the movement of between 40 - 65 per cent, with an average difference of movement is 0.10065 percent. Flood conditions, the water flow 2.000 m3/s and the water level 10 m operation of opening gate ranging between 98 - 100 per cent and the amount of the difference opening gate is 0.028835. RMSE to estimate the flow rate of 1.5835, while for the water level of 0.3145. While the flow conditions dry, with water flow 10 m3/s and the water level 1 m operation of opening gate ranging between 0 - 1 percent and the amount of the difference opening gate is 0.41289 percent. RMSE to estimate the flow rate of 0.0826, while for the water level of 0.0677.

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce the concept of skew semi-Heyting algebra and extend the notions of semi-Heyting algebras. We characterize a skew semi-Heyting algebra as a skew Heyting algebra interms of a unique binary operation on which an induced binary operation is defined, and some algebraic properties on it.

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce the concept of Fuzzy Amicable sets, we prove some properties of Fuzzy Amicable set, too. We also prove that two Fuzzy compatible elements of an Almost distributive Fuzzy Lattice (ADFL) are equal if and only if their corresponding unique Fuzzy amicable elements are equal. We define the homomorphism of two Almost Distributive Fuzzy lattices (ADFL) and finally we observe that any two Fuzzy amicable set in an Almost Distributive Fuzzy Lattice (ADFL) are isomorphic.

Abstract

Fibonacci sequence is one of the most common sequences in mathematics. It was first introduced by Leonardo Pisa in his book Liber Abaci (1202). From the first n + 1 terms of Fibonacci sequence, a polynomial of degree at most n can be constructed using Lagrange interpolation. In this paper, we show that this Fibonacci Lagrange Interpolation Polynomial (FLIP) can be obtained both recursively and implicitly.

Abstract

The application of the concept of fluid is often used to solve problems in the daily life. One of them is the problem of fluid around an elliptical cylinder. This study aims to solve the problems of the fluid around two elliptical cylinder configuration with side-by-side using the Navier-Stokes equations. Navier-Stokes equations–incompressible, viscous and unsteady-are solved using finite difference method staggered grid and SIMPLE (Semi Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equation) algorithms. Finite difference method is used to complete the grid arrangement, whereas the SIMPLE algorithm is used to obtain components of velocity and pressure value. Results of this study are the pressure value based on fluid flow profile and a mathematical model which received an elliptical cylinder pressure. Profile of fluid flow is simulated by varying the Reynolds number of 100, 1000, 7000, and 10000 as well as variations in the distance between the cylinder with a ratio of 2 <= S/a <= 6 where L is the distance between the cylinder and a is the minor axis of the cylinder ellipse. Then the pressure is calculated based on the value of the received cylinder pressure components. After obtaining the pressure value, then we create a mathematical model of the stresses imposed on the elliptical cylinder.

Abstract

Increasing safety and product quality, reducing manufacturing cost, minimizing the impact of environment in fault detection system for Nonisothermal Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) are the reason why accurate state estimation is needed. Kalman filter is an estimation algorithm of the stochastic linear dynamical system. Through this work, a modification of Kalman Filter that combines with fuzzy theory, namely Fuzzy Kalman Filter (FKF) is presented to estimate the state variable of Non-Isothermal CSTR. First, we approximate the nonlinear system of CSTR as piecewise linear functions and then change the crisp variable into the fuzzy form. The estimation results are simulated using Matlab. The simulation shows the comparison results, i.e computational time and accuracy, between FKF and Ensemble Kalman Filter (EnKF). The final result of these case shows that FKF is better than EnKF to estimate the state variable of Nonisothermal CSTR. The error estimation of FKF is 72.9% smaller for estimation of reactans concentration, 39.9% smaller for tank temperature, 76.47% smaller for cooling jacket temperature and the computational time of FKF is 76.47% faster than the computational time of EnKF.

Abstract

Present study considers the mathematical modeling of free convection boundary layer flow and heat transfer on a solid sphere with viscous dissipation and thermal radiation effects. The transformed partial differential equations are solved numerically by using the Keller-box method. Numerical solutions are obtained for the reduced Nusselt number, the local skin friction coefficient, the velocity and temperature profiles. The features of the flow characteristics for various values of the Prandtl number, radiation parameter and Eckert number are discussed. It is worth mentioning that the results are obtained until x = 180 degree. This is contrary to the previous report where the separation boundary layer flow occurs after x = 120 degree. The results in this paper is important for the researchers working in the area of boundary layer flow and this can be used as reference and also as complement for comparison purposes in the future.

Abstract

More than 13 countries in the Americas have reported sporadic Zika virus infection that show very rapid geographic expansion. While in Indonesia, the euphoria is also increasingly prevalent virus discussed especially after the discovery of Jambi positive patients infected with the virus Zika on January 26, 2016 last.Viruses transmitted by mosquito bites to humans are the same mosquito transmits dengue fever, chikungunya and yellow fever with symptoms that have similar resemblance to the zika virus. Based on similarity of symptoms of infection with dengue virus, can be analyzed using sequence alignment to get identical percentage, local alignment calculation, genetic mutation and the spread of the zika virus to Indonesia. From the whole process, Smith Waterman algorithm can be used to align dengue virus type 1, type 2, type 3, and type 4 with zika virus (Jambi). Mutations between dengue virus and zika virus on average 28% of dissimilarity sequences in the same position between the sequence. Overall, the dengue virus type 1 mutation to the zika virus was 28.2723%, the dengue virus type 2 mutation to the zika virus was 28.1984%, the dengue virus type 3 mutation to the zika virus 27.9373% and the mutation of dengue virus type 4 to the zika virus of 28.7206%. By looking at all mutations, from the simulation results note that the mutations of both viruses include mutation type I. The phylogenetic tree showed the spread of the Zika virus to Indonesia, originally from South Africa, the islands of Chile, Caledonia, the Philippines, Yap Micronesia, Thailand, Cambodia, and finally reached Indonesia. Zika virus jambi suspected of dengue virus mutation because a few years earlier there was a dengue virus outbreaks in a long time in Jambi, it turns out the virus zika jambi is not from mutation dengue virus but the virus comes from the Asian region.

Abstract

In this paper we introduce the concept of a Generalized almost distributive fuzzy lattices (GADFLs) as a generalization of an Almost distributive fuzzy lattices(ADFLs). Again, we also show that a necessary and sufficient conditions for a GADFLs to become a distributive fuzzy lattices and a GADFLs to become an ADFLs.
