Abstract

This paper aims to analyze how transformational leadership and compensation satisfaction determine employee performance in post-acquisition companies by proposing readiness for change as a mediating variable. Our samples are 400 employees from four post-acquisition companies which underwent acquisition in 2014. The findings of this study show that the direct effect between transformational leadership and employee performance has a higher value than the indirect effect through the variable readiness for change. Likewise, the direct effect between compensation satisfaction and employee performance has a higher value than the indirect effect through readiness to change. The statement before shows that the existence of readiness to change is essential. Still, the dynamic changes require employees to adapt quickly to new circumstances, ready or not.

Abstract

Indonesia SMEs have contributed 61.97% to GDP or Rp. 8,573.89 trillion, and they can absorb almost 97% of the workforce. However, several problems arise and become limitations for SMEs, such as limited capital and limited marketing ability and weak business management capabilities. For capital limitations, it can be solved by applying for credit to external parties such as banks and venture capital, but SMEs must meet the bank requirements. For marketing limitations, it can be pursued by maximizing the ability of SMES actors in network competence and market orientation. Therefore, this research was conducted to examine the financial literacy, network competence, and market orientation to the financial performance of SMEs. We collected data by an online questionnaire on 197 SMEs in Bandung. We use SEM PLS to analyze the data. Our results indicated that financial literacy, network competence, and market orientation had a positive and significant impact on the SMEs financial performance. That means that the ability to understand financial concepts, the ability to establish good relationships or networks with external parties, and the ability to sense markets and customer relations help SMEs to implement their business strategies properly. So that they will have an impact on increasing financial performance.

Abstract

A new challenge for the banking sector In Indonesia is integrating social aspects in firm performance reports. Green Credit is expected to substantially drive capital allocation to sustainable development which eventually will impact the pattern of production and consumption in the future. In this study, using commercial bank data in Indonesia, we estimate an empirical model of the effect of green credit on bank performance in Indonesia during the period 2015 to 2021. We employ a panel dynamic model using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). We differ bank performance twofold which are return on asset (ROA)). The main finding shows that green credit significantly abates bank performance since some green economy projects focus on the public welfare. Therefore, green credit could not result in high returns. The government should formulate a policy of providing incentives to banks that offer green credit. Thus, it could encourage the willingness of banks to lend more funds to the green economy.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of ownership structure with management ownership, foreign ownership, dispersed ownership and block ownership sub-variables on social and environmental disclosure. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) disclosure framework was adopted to extract social and environmental disclosures. The research method used is a quantitative method. The population in this study are manufacturing sector companies listed on the Stock Exchange Indonesia in 2018-2020. A total sample of 243 was obtained using a judgment sampling technique with a sample of 81 companies. The analytical method used in this research is multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis show that on average, social and environmental disclosure in manufacturing companies in Indonesia is still quite low. This research shows that there is an influence of management ownership, foreign ownership, and block ownership on social and environmental disclosure but not significant for dispersed ownership. The results of the analysis show that foreign ownership has a fairly strong positive influence on social and environmental disclosure. It was found that foreign ownership dominates the ownership structure by 97.59%, so that company managers must give more consideration to ownership structure, especially foreign ownership and international environmental standards to design good and effective social and environmental disclosure strategies. This study may be of interest to regulators as material for consideration in making investment policies, especially foreign investment regulations.
