Abstract

This research aims at studying the implementation of School Based Management (SBM) that has been implemented both in the Elementary Schools and Junior High Schools, and proposing a model on how School Based Management is institutionalized at a university. The implementation will be focused on three pillars of SBM: school management, effective teaching, and community participation. The result of the research shows that the implementation of SBM at Elementary schools and Junior High Schools still need serious improvement. The understanding on School Based Management based on its three pillars at university (LPTK) is various and still needs socialization to the leaders and lectures. The initial phase is arranged thourgh five steps: socialization, training, workshop, internship, and mentoring, Supporting products of the SBM implementation that have become a guidance book and a reference book may be modified. Abstract

If we want to be honest, as a matter of fact, there are many regions that are not ready to receive various authorities in the context of the religion autonomy yet, including in carrying aut the authority on education sector. The reasons for his are (a) insufficient human resourse, (b) unavailabel means and infrastructures, (c) the very low provincial budget, (d) the lack of mentality toward changes, (e) being nervous and afraid toward renewal or innovative efforts. To be bureaucratic elite is dilemmatic and confusing. On the one hand, one has to works hard to serve the complex and hard problen of the society; on the other hand, the regulations of the district head are financial monitoring which is becoming stricter and stricter as well as the multiinterpretation between the organizer and the law enforcer apparatus. Realization of decentralization in the school management needs the readiness from all supporting elemnts in the region. There are, at least, four elements that schould be prepared in order that the realization of decentralization succeed: (1) Law and regulation that regulate decentralization of education from distric or provincial level until the instituation level, (2) the devloment of the region capability, (3) creating the startegy of unit which is in charge of making education planning, (4) the readiness of society in receiving and helping to create the conducive milieu for realization of the decentralization. Abstract

Arabic script is a system of written language used to symbolize the sounds of Arabic. It constitutes the category of written system of ortography and it is made based on the pronounciation of a sound independently or separated from the context of a word. As a result, there are latters arranged alphabetically, well-known as al-huruf al-hijaiyyah. All this time, Arabic script is acknowledged as a consistent language of the sound sign. It is understood considering that every Arabic letter has special character and it is completed by spelling rules. By such characters and spelling rules, every letter can write both its sound and its variances. It needs comprehensive understanding on the characters and the spelling rules of Arabic letters to write the sounds of Arabic scripts correctly. Without understanding it, the mistakes in writing a sound of Arabic scripts will appear. To avoid mistakes in writing the sounds of Arabic scripts, this article tries to explain the character of every Arabic letters as well as it spelling rules. Abstract

Several newly decades, it appears the phenomenon of the revival of religious spirit over all social levels, especially on urban society. This phenomenon is indicated by a great number of religious studies and religious morements in cities conducted both conventionally-traditionally and in new forms that have methods and ways which are different from other forms. These groups are frequently called harakah. This articel describes the phenomenon of harakah groups in Cilegon, Banten: Jamaah Tabligh, Jamaah Tarbiyah, Iembaga Dakwah Islamiyah Indonesia (LDII), and Hizhut Tahrir Indonesia. It is clear to demonstrate that the harakah community in Cilegon tends to increase. Abstract

Translation from one language into another one basically always faces an abstacles of untransability factor. One of obstacles causing this case is grammatical factor. This paper discus such obstacles instrumen that has the concepts of types and number as one of Arabic grammatical instruments that has no comparison in lndonesia grammatical instruments. By taking the translation of the Qur'an as the data, the writer tries to know what startegy used by the translation team of Departement of Religious Affairs in overcoming this problem. Based on the data analysis, it is found that the translation team of Department of Religius Affair conducts three strategies to overcome this problem: using gramatical pattrens available in Indonesia language, substituting it with lexical unit, and giving special notes. Abstract

The research aimed to understand ways of implementing multicultural values in Indonesia primary schools. This case study attempted to discover the multicultura values in primary school curriculum documents and teacher's perspective on how to promote the multicultural values in primary shcool students, by interviewing primary school teacher in Makassar and examining primary school curriculum documents. The investigation showed that teaching the values of tolerance, respecting diversity, acknowledging similarities and maintaining native languages and local identy should be done gradually by initially introducing the symbols of multicultural values through picture, videos, and observations, then teaching children through modeling and attitudes of inclusiveness. More importantly is teachers' knowledge on multiculturalism so that they could behave equally towards students and colleagues in school setting. Finally, multiculturalism should be embedded in the schools through celebration of cultures, ethnics and language diversity, through cultural festivals, food exhibition, local art and dance shows, music contests, drama, and literature. Abstract

This article aims al observing the relationship between principals' managerial roles and the improvement of schools and the impacts of principals' managerial roles toward school improvement based on the school-based management. This research uses 127 principals and 694 teachers of urban secondary schools of Bangladesh as the sample. Schools are becoming better when the principals give more emphasizing on strategic plan, supportive and comprehensive roles but less emphasizing on shared decision making. The findings of this study offer valuable information for policy makers and educational managers, especially the principals and teachers. Abstract

Ibn Hazm (Abenhazam de Cordoba)'s thought has an important position in the study of Islamic law philosophy, especially dealing with his three main thoughts: differentiation between God and His creature dimensions, thoroughfulness of syari'a so that it is uncorrect to argue in the name of religion by using premises out of the texts, and the importance of language as a tool to understand the God's massages. Based on his thoughts, Ibn Hazm plays a unique position in the discourse of Islamic thoughts. On the one hand, his thoughts are philosophical, on the other hand, he is a textualistic and normative Zhahirianist. Hene, he is frequently called a philosopher who remains thinking normatively.
