Abstract

This article discusses the development of Islamic education in Indonesian archipelagostarting from Dayah (traditional Islamic boarding school) of Cot Kala as the first Islamiceducation. Dayah plays a very significant role in the development of Islamic Educationfrom the early period of Islam entering Indonesia to the present days. Moreover, the conceptof education in dayah does not only focus on teaching material things but also covers all aspects of life. However, every period has it ebb and flow, so does dayah education system. During Dutch colonialism, dayah was impacted as the ulama (dayah leader)and santri (dayah student) was fighting in the war. Post the war, dayah was reorganized.Ulama and santri re-build dayah to be a better Islamic education institution and becomea source of reference for all element of the community. These days dayah obtains a goodplace in the community, and all elements of dayah are honored because they are seen asa source of knowledge and are able to guide people to be better.

Abstract

Teaching and learning process carried out must always go through the final process of evaluation, so that the results to be achieved are better. One of evaluation technique that is often used by educational institutions is achievement tests. Achievement tests are tests that are arranged in a planned manner to reveal the subject’s maximum performance in mastering the material or material that has been taught. In compiling test instruments for achievement tests, the test instrument must go through the Validity and Reliability Test. So the, test that will be prepared can be commensurate with the ability of someone who will be given a test. The test instruments that are prepared should not be too far below or above the ability of the test participants, and the level of difficulty of the items should be in the medium category. In the study of the test there are two approaches that can be used, namely the classical approach (CTT) and the modern approach based on Item Response Theory (IRT)

Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan Teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, guru bahasa Arab dituntut mampu mengembangkan model pembelajaran bahasa Arab yang efektif, menggunakan metode yang sesuai dengan tujuan dan materi pelajaran, serta menggunakan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Model pembelajaran mengalami perkembangan secara terus-menerus seiring dengan perkembangan yang terjadi pada disiplin ilmu bahasa, ilmu pendidikan dan arus perkembangan zaman. Perkembangan Teknologi informasi dan komunikasi telah menjanjikan potensi besar dalam merubah cara seseorang untuk belajar, untuk memperoleh informasi, menyesuaikan informasi dan sebagainya. Teknologi informasi dan komunikasi juga menyediakan peluang bagi pendidik untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran, metode, teknik serta media pembelajaran yang beragam untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang maksimal.

Abstract

Teachers are positions or professions that require special skills, work as a teacher can not be done by someone without having expertise as a teacher. Being a teacher requires special requirements. What else if being a professional teacher then must have four competencies including: Pedagogic Competence, Personality Competence, Social Competence and Professional Competence. Professional Teachers Must Have Good Teaching Skills, Have Large Insights, Mastering Curriculum, Mastering the media of learning, Mastery of technology, Have a good personality and Be a good role model.

Abstract

The teacher’s personality competence (personality) is the important factor to improve education quality. However, in the fact this competence is not prioritized than pedagogical competence and cognitive competence in a teacher training. Moreover, for personality problems is returned to the teachers individually. Basically, the teachers are also a determinant of reciprocation of education, a teacher personal quality is very necessary to become a good personality and authority. In teaching-learning process, the Success indicator of a teacher’s personality and authority can improve students’ achievement. Based on the problems above, the research objectives of this study are 1) to know the general picture of junior high schools (SMP) at west Aceh regency. 2) to know PAIteachers’ personality competence of Junior High Schools (SMP) at west Aceh regency. 3) to know PAI teachers’ authority of Junior High Schools (SMP) at west Aceh regency. 4) to know PAI achievement of Junior High Schools (SMP) at west Aceh regency. This research was a qualitative descriptive analysis research. The instruments which were used to collect the data in this research consist of observation, interview, documentation study, and questionnaire. The subjects of this study are PAI teachers, the principal, the curriculum vice principal and eighth grade students of three Junior High Schools at west Aceh regency. There are: Junior High School (SMP) 3 Meulaboh, Junior High School (SMP) 1 Samatiga, and Junior High School (SMP) 3 Woyla. The result of the research showed that the teachers had Personality Competence, and good authority. Therefore, the first semester students’ achievement in 2013/2014 got high average score of school standard score.

Abstract

The focus of research is related to; (1) Factors causing irregularities homosexualbehavior in Lam Sabang village, (2) Psychological guidance to young victims of gayin Lam Sabang village, and (3) Policy for resolving the cases of gay in Lam Sabangvillage. While the subject of this study are five-public figures and one village’s leader. Theinstruments used were interview and observation. Data was analyzed by using descriptiveapproach. The findings of this study indicate: (1) The cause of gay’s behavior deviationin Lam Sabang village who causes to be sodomized teenagers in the village due to theperpetrators of sodomy had long divorced his wife and watch pornographic movies thatcan be accessed easily through handphone (HP), (2) Psychological guidance to youngvictims of gay in Lam Sabang village specifically not get service from professionals.However, efforts to strengthen the psychological only were given by the family to provideguidance and through lectures alone, and (3) The policy of resolving these gay cases atthe village level is not carried out because the case has been reported to the police andhas been prosecuted. So far, at the village level, there is no policy including customarysanctions also is not given to them.

Abstract

Dayah plays a part in fostering the morality of students today. The goals is to create and develop the personality of Muslims who have personality of faith and piety to God, and also good morality and benefit to the community. Dayah is as one of the non-formal Islamic educational institutions that play a role in founding students morality by inculcating moral values through the learning process of Islamic religious discipline.

Abstract

The last step in an educational institution management is controlling. controlling includes evaluation through controlling, surveillance, and direction. The ideal controllings are carried out by professionals, who are capable of working through various stages and on proportional goals. Controlling in educational institutions is aimed at the implementation of the overall program, expecting to improve the quality of educational institutions, such as in public schools, pesantren and dayah (Islamic schools) and other educational institutions. Controlling within educational institutions is urgent. Thus, supervisors must understand the steps and strategies of the implementation, can differ supervising and controlling, and know the duties of the school supervisor who serves an important role inthe supervisory task.

Abstract

This paper discusses the innovation of funding sources of Islamic education. This idea was born as a response to the lack of funding sources in the management of Islamic education in Indonesia, especially those sourced from the government. So, acceleration of Islamic education quality achievement is slow. Unfortunately again, in the middle of the situation, the managers of Islamic schools are poor innovation, and only rely on conventional sources of funding (from the government). Therefore, this innovative idea is considered to be able to contribute solutively to the effort to open the faucet of new funding in the management of Islamic education toward the achievement of quality. Hope, Islamic schools in Indonesia will be served in the form of free education again quality, the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure, and refresentatif education facilities.

Abstract

Islamic education is a concept of education based on universal true values and the truthfrom Allah SWT Who has prepared the clear principle of education that enlightens,prospers, and saves mankind in this world and here after. One of the main goals of Islamiceducation is to make people aware and persistent (istiqama) with the basic principleof men creation to serve for Allah (hablummninallah) and become rahmatanlil’alamin,useful and beneficent for the whole universe, either for the men or for the nature(hablumminanaas wahablumminal ‘aalamien) as the consequence of serving the missionof being khalifatullah in the world. Hence, the concept of Islamic education needs to meetseveral main requirements. First, it needs to have a clear goal, objective, and target.Second, the real and absolute educator is Allah SWT, the creator of fitra, the talent giver,the maker of all nature of law related to development, advancement, and interactionas well as He is the One presupposing the rules to actualize completeness, benefit andhappiness of the fitra. Third, education demands for the realization of gradual programby developing teaching and learning activities in line with children development. Fourth,the role of educator must be in accordance with purpose of his creation by Allah. Thelogical consequence of this issue is that Islamic education requires an Islamic curriculum,approach and methodology based on the essence values of the Qur’an and hadith. Thispaper shall discuss concisely all important points related to the concept of Islamiceducation covering the definition and the superiorities of Islamic education.
