Abstract

Language errors in the writing of autobiography conducted by the students of S-1 Program Statistics FMIPA Unimus can be grouped into errors from the point of writing / spelling and errors from the point of grammar. Spelling mistakes include prepositional and affixed writing errors, capital letter writing, abbreviation, and numerical errors. Grammatical errors include fragmentary sentences, confusing sentences, sentences with predictions of transitive active verbs but not directly followed by objects, and unclear sentences of the subject.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the meaning of the pekutut bird in Serat Ngalamating Kutut. Material object of this research is Serat Ngalamating Kutut. Serat Ngalamating Kutut consists of nineteen stanzas and contains myths about perkutut bird. The text describes fifteen kinds perkutut bird. Of the fifteen kinds can be divided into two. Nine kinds are good turtles and the other six are bad birds. The results showed, the characteristics of perkutut  birds that have good and bad influence there is in the text. Birds that have good characteristic are recommended to maintain. Contrarily, birds that have bird characteristics that can bring problems are not recommended, even  forbidden to maintain.

Abstract

The study of this language is macro by using data from the census of Indonesian population 2010. The study included (a) the number of Javanese speakers in Lampung in 2010, (b) the factor of Javanese distribution in Lampung in 2010, and (c) and the influence Javanese in Lampung. Obtaining data using the method refer. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis using single frequency distribution table and continued with categorical analysis and interpreted theoretically various prominent phenomena. The results showed that spatially the population in Lampung more use of Javanese language than Lampung. In addition, the population proportion of migration Java population is more than the total population of Lampung. This is closely related to the migration program of the Javanese population that had begun since the Dutch colonial era up to the Soeharto era.

Abstract

The statement "PRIORITY ENGLISH" is interestingly discussed, because it evokes a speaker's reaction; so that there is an "interpretation": What is it? "what is the command: appeal, petition, solicitation, warning, concern, concern and command of suspicion. The existing statement as the CAPS, while the "interpretation" as the CONSEQUENCES. From the question "What's wrong?" The question "Why?" As the "(basic) cause" of the seventh "interpretation" came into question. The answer to the question "Why" includes: dynamic, prestige, mixed code, (result) vocabulary wealth, (for) simplicity of form, (more) communicative, and (easy) vocabulary. The research method is based on three strategic stages, namely: 1. the data collection stage, that is by utilizing the interview and study (to) the library (an); 2. phase classification and data analysis, namely classification efforts based on the reference content of the meaning of data groups; while data analysis bases the application of linguistic theory, semantic fields and (theory) pragmatics. The application of linguistic theory, the semantic field, for the classification of data on the findings of "interpretation". The analytical method is based on "direct element division (IC), by technique: substitution, expansion, and paraphrase. While the application of (theory) pragmatic basing on `principle of cooperation`, namely` maxim implementation`; and `courtesy principle`, ie` match maxim`. The application of both theories is complementary.

Abstract

The struggling of gender in the male hegemony challance were discussed often in discourse, a part is in literature. This paper was analyzed the gender struggle in two novel i.e. Perempuan Berkalung Surban (The Woman to wear a necklace of headdress) novel,  that wrote by Abidah El-Khalieqy and Gadis Pantai (The Beach Girl) novel, that wrote by  Pramoedya Ananta Toer. The first novel is wrote by a woman have pesantren ‘educational institute with a Moslem bacground’ background and second novel is wrote by a man have nasionalism-realism-socialist ideology. To analyze second novel have used sociology of literature and with feminist literature chritic approach.Result of analyze are shown that gender struggle in novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban is backgrounded by male repressive against women base the explanation and interpretation of the verses from the Koran (Islam religion) that very patriarchal. As for  the gender struggle in novel Gadis Pantai is backgrounded by male repressive against women base feudalistic tradition, the woman as private property of man. Standing point of feudalist, tirany, and have not to appraise or to value the women, then respond by women with gender struggle.
