Abstract

Caring behavior is a fundamental aspect of nurses in performing nursing care including professional attitudes, knowledge and skills that have an impact on nursing care and services and patient safety. Objective study to identify the relationship of personality characteristics with nurses caring behavior. Using a cross sectional design with a sample of 124 nurses working in the Jakarta Government Hospital. The research instrument consisted of nurse characteristics, nurse caring behavior, Core Self Evaluation (CSE) personality model characteristics and Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance (DISC) personality type characteristics. Characteristics of the CSE personality models have a moderate relationship and positive direction (p = 0, 0001, r = 0.496) with caring behavior, and the greatest correlation is self-efficacy (p = 0.0001, r = 0.528), and the lowest correlation is emotional stability (p = 0.0006, r = 0.243). While the DISC personality type and nurse characteristics have no relationship (p> 0.05). CSE personality model characteristics are related to nurses caring behaviour. While DISC personality type characteristics and nurse characteristics do not have a relationship with nurse caring behaviour. The factor that most influences caring behaviour is personality self-efficacy.

Abstract

Islamic Caring is an attitude or action taken based on the values of caring, kindness, and compassion to protect, improve and assist the patient's recovery process based on the Qur'an and Sunnah. Several factors that influence Islamic caring behavior include the role of the leader and the motivation of nurses. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the role of the leader and nurses' motivation with Islamic caring behavior. Methods: This research is quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. Collecting data using a questionnaire with 118 respondents using the total population technique, statistical test used Spearmen correlation. This research has passed the ethical test with the number 30/KEPK/RSI-SA/XI/2021. Results: The role of the leader in the good category is 88.2%, the motivation of nurses in the high category is 87.3%, and the Islamic caring behavior of nurses in the good category is 93.2%. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the role of the leader and Islamic caring behavior with a strong relationship, as well as the relationship between motivation and Islamic caring behavior with a moderate relationship. Efforts to improve Islamic caring behavior are to increase the motivation of nurses and increase the role of the leader.

Abstract

Hemodialysis is one of the renal replacement therapy for patients with chronic kidney failure which could give some complications including Restless Leg Syndrome. Non-pharmacological therapies such as lavender can be used to reduce the symptoms caused by RLS. The purpose of this study was to examine several literature, articles and research documents that identified the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy in overcoming the symptoms caused by RLS in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The method used in this study is a literature review conducted with reference to searches through online database sites, namely Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Pubmed and ResearchGate. The results of the study from 7 reviewed articles showed that lavender therapy given through various interventions could reduce reduction, reduce fatigue and reduce RLS scores. The conclusion obtained in this study is that the intervention with lavender aromatherapy has been shown to reduce the symptoms caused in hemodialysis patients who experience RLS so nurses need to consider lavender aromatherapy as an intervention in hemodialysis patients who experience RLS.

Abstract

Psychological problems arise in cervical cancer patients because of the stages of management that must be followed since the patient performs an examination, makes a diagnosis, and during therapy that takes time which will not appear again. Some studies in cervical cancer patients have focused on morbidity or mortality more because of the risk of depression. The purpose of this study was to describe the condition of the spiritual role in the coping muslim patient suffering from cervical cancer undergoing chemotherapy. This study used a hermeneutic phenomenology method, involving six cervical cancer participants with chemotheraphy. Data were collected by semi-structured  interviews which were then transcribed. Data analysis using content analysis. In the study, two themes were found, namely cervical cancer patients performing mahdhah worship, and performing ghairu mahdhah worship during cervical cancer treatment. The results of this study indicate that Muslim patient suffering from cervical cancer apply mahdah and ghairu mahdhah worship while undergoing cervical cancer treatment.

Abstract

Triage is the process by which patients are classified according to the type and urgency of their conditions to get help from a care provider. Patients and the patient families must know about the triage implementation to avoid misinterpretation of health services in the emergency unit. This study aims to identify the knowledge of patients’ families about the implementation of triage in the emergency department. The design of the study was quantitative with a cross-sectional technique. The sample of this study was the patient’s families with 90 people which were selected through accidental sampling. Data collection used was a questionnaire that has been tested for its validation and reliability. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The majority of respondents had sufficient knowledge about triage 62,2%, the respondents accounted with better knowledge about triage was 22,2% and the respondents with a lack of knowledge 15,6%. It is be concluded that based on the result of this study, it is beneficial for health care professionals to provide triage education to patient’s families to improve patients' families' understanding of triage implementation in the emergency setting in the hospital

Abstract

Fracture is a disorder of the musculoskeletal system caused by damage to bone tissue. The progressive muscle relaxation technique is a deep muscle therapy that does not require imagination, persistence, and even suggestion that can be used by stretching and then relaxing the muscles. Progressive muscle relaxation techniques can help a person relax more when experiencing anxiety. The study aimed to identify the effect of progressive muscle relaxation techniques on anxiety in fracture recovery patients of research is a quantitative descriptive study with quasi-experimental research with a two-group pretest and post-test design approach. The treatment group was given a progressive muscle relaxation technique with as many as 15 movements starting from the facial muscles to the leg muscles for 20-40 minutes every day and carried out for 1 week. The results showed a positive effect of giving muscle progressive techniques to anxiety before and before intervention p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05). Based on the results of this study, it can be said that progressive muscle relaxation is effective in reducing anxiety scores of patients with fracture recovery.

Abstract

The transmission of COVID-19 infection is rapidly spreading in Indonesia, All people are at risk of COVID-19 infection, especially health workers. Factors that may increase the risk of COVID-19 transmission necessitate being explored more. This study aims to find out what factors are associated with the incidence of COVID-19 infection in COVID-19 survivors at Kariadi Hospital Semarang. This study has used a retrospective observational design, with a quantitative analysis conducted involving 80 COVID-19 survivors (health workers = 63 respondents, non-health workers = 17 respondents). Respondents' characteristics questionnaire, exposure questionnaires and knowledge, attitude and practice questionnaires were filled out by respondents through google form and then were analyzed by chi-square test. Most of the COVID-19 survivors in this study were male (52.5%), had a bachelor's degree (50%), married (77.5%), had no comorbidities (73.5%), had a high level of knowledge (90%), appropriate attitude (90%), and good preventive practice (95%), and the most common symptom of COVID-19 experienced was fever (15, 95%). The incidence of COVID-19 infection was significantly more in health worker survivors which were male (p = 0.032), as civil servants (ASN) (p = 0.00), had undergraduate education level (p = 0.00) and hospitalized during COVID-19 infection (p = 0.002). Factors related to the incidence of COVID-19 infection in this study were gender, occupation, education level, and hospitalisation place. Adequate screening and mitigation of COVID-19 risk groups are urgently needed.

Abstract

Hemodialysis therapy can cause complications and psychological problems in patients with kidney failure. This problem can do treated with non-pharmacological therapies, one of which is music therapy which can improve health in critically ill patients, and eliminate psychosomatic disorders. This study expects to decide the advantages of music treatment on kidney illness patients going through hemodialysis therapy. The method used is a literature review related to the effectiveness of music treatment on patients with chronic kidney, by searching for the latest relevant literature in the last 5th years through Google Scholar and PubMed. The results of the journal analysis found 12 supporting journals which said that music therapy was effective for reducing physiological (pain, vital signs, and fatigue) and psychological disorders (depression, anxiety, and stress), as well as improving the quality of sleep and quality of life of hemodialysis patients. Music therapy is a relaxation therapy that can do done independently to reduce physiological and psychological problems in hemodialysis patients without having any adverse effects at an affordable cost.

Abstract

The pandemic due to the Covid-19 virus has brought many changes to the world's social, economic, educational and healthy life. This condition has an impact on people's lives, not only adults but also children. Children have to adapt to various rules that change their daily habits. The purpose of this study was to identify a description of the nutritional status, activity patterns, and stress levels of school children in Bali Province during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with a descriptive observational approach. Sampling was carried out using a simple random sampling technique involving 150 samples of children aged 9-13 years from 5 districts in Bali. The results showed that 68% of children were in good nutritional status and physical activity showed balanced results with the highest stress level of children being moderate stress which reached 88.7%. Parents and teachers have an important role in maintaining physical activity and children's mental health during the pandemic.

Abstract

Stroke sufferers are faced with limitations both in terms of physical, psychological, and social aspects which cause sufferers to experience difficulties in carrying out activities. The cause of these difficulties is low self-efficacy which will have a negative impact on the health conditions and behavior of stroke sufferers. The purpose of the review is to describe how interventions related to self-efficacy and their effect on self-efficacy in stroke patients. The method used is scoping review by looking for relevant articles using keywords. The inclusion criteria in this review were participants with a diagnosis of stroke, the results of the study measured self-efficacy, the study was a randomized controlled trial, the year of publication was in the 2011-2021 period, and the study was in English. The results in the review are five articles that have significant results on self-efficacy and six articles have insignificant results. Articles that have significant results apply interventions with several strategies including education, training, motivation, and self-management. The conclusion of this review is an article that has significant results in implementing a complex intervention (SESSMP intervention, MSE training intervention, and self-management empowerment intervention) and a single intervention (Health Empowerment Intervention for Stroke Self-management and SFBT).
