Jurnal Ilmiah “SEMIOTIKA” diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi – Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Humaniora (FISH), Universitas Bunda Mulia secara rutin dan berkala sesuai dengan periode terbit per semester (6 bulan), yaitu bulan Juni dan Desember. Redaksi jurnal “SEMIOTIKA” membuka peluang seluas-luasnya kepada para dosen pengajar maupun peneliti pada 19 bidang yang dapat dikategorikan sebagai bahan kajian ilmiah SEMIOTIKA menurut Eco (1979:9-14), antara lain: Semiotika binatang (zoomsemiotic) Tanda – tanda bauan (olfactory signs) Komunikasi rabaan (tactile communication) Kode – kode cecapan (code of taste) Paralinguistik (paralinguistics) Semiotika medis (medical semiotics) Kinesik dan proksemik (kinesics and proxemics) Kode – kode musik (musical codes) Bahasa – bahasa yang diformalkan (formalized languages) Bahasa tertulis, alfabet tidak dikenal, kode rahasia (written languages, unknown alphabets, secret codes) Bahasa alam (natural languages) Komunikasi visual (visual communication) Sistem objek (system of objects) Struktur alur (plot structure) Teori teks (text theory)1 Kode – kode budaya (culture codes) Teks estetik (aesthetic texts) Komunikasi Massa (mass comunication) Retorika (rhetoric) Di luar bidang-bidang yang dijabarkan oleh Umberto Eco di atas, perkembangan kajian semiotika menunjukkan kemajuan yang menggembirakan. Berbagai kajian membuka kesempatan pada istilah lain yang mengacu pada diseminasi bidang dalam jurnal ini, antara lain: Semiotika Komunikasi, Semiotika Media, Semiotika Tanda, Semiotika Produk, Semiotika Desain Kemasan, Semiotika Desain Visual, Semiotika Arsitektur, Semiotika Pemasaran, Semiologi Linguistik, Hermeunetika, dan Biosemiotika.

Abstract

Broadcasting regulation has an important role in controlling broadcasting program. Todays, Television channels are competing to produce attractive programs. News programs become their priority. Consequently, they are required to cover any news accurately and rapidly. News productions are required to be aligned with Pedoman Perilaku Penyiaran dan Standard Program Siaran (P3-SPS) as regulated by KPI. The research method used content analysis. The research is aimed to identify messages transferred bythe TV programs. The analysis has been associated with visual, narrative and journalistic aspects on news program in RCTI, TVOne and Metro TV.Keywords: Content analysis, News Program, P3-SPS, Televison

Abstract

Capitalism in the era of mass media content selection by media managers strongly influenced by the imagery that has been attached to the audience so that it feels need to change the image that has been attached to the audience. Of imaging the hedonistic, consumerist and not treat politic like a politically literate adolescent. Mass media is supposed to be the power of the state to promote the election. With the socializationsih of youth or first time voters are expected to gain knowledge as well as early political learning. How teens can finally understand what the election and the election itself what is the meaning for them, and how they can be on the poll.Keywords: mass media content, media management, imaging, voters,socialization

Abstract

PT. Inti Tama Karsa is one of the companies that engaged in services area that trying to improve the quality of the company by increasing the human resources competency through the training activities. Inti Tama Karsa Training Center (ITK-LC) is an education and training center. The aims of this research is to knowing what kind of marketing communications strategy that used by ITK-LC to promote their company. The method of research uses the qualitative approach with a descriptive style. The researchresults shows that the Marketing Communication that they performed is quite effective with some variety promotions that are used, such as advertising, sales promotion, personal selling, and publicity. The target market of this program is those people who come from working world and educational world. Based on the research results, ITK-LC’s Marketingshould create some new strategies, and not only focus on those five promotional mix tools.Keywords : Strategy, Marketing Communications, Promotion

Abstract

Paradigmatic phenomenological interpretation of the reality is trying to trace the process of media and communications that are the essence of reality, not reality itself on engineering. Phenomenology as the study puts the study of communication in matters transcendental deity diterpakan by the media. Phenomenology based on the values of humanity as well as media that high menunjung Human Rights so that it can be done with hermenutik approach.Phenomenology seeks to reveal the truth of the human senses as an empirical truth that is based on media exposure and other communication patterns.Keywords: paradigmatic, phenomenology, construction, media, communicationreality

Abstract

The foundation of Bunda Mulia has succeed in managing University of Bunda Mulia (UBM) as a leading university in North Jakarta. UBM has variety institutional identities, especially mascot that will be the object of this research. Mascot is a new way to socialize UBM’s values through website, POM, doll and other promotion tools.UBM has a dolphin mascot namely “Bi-eM”. ‘B’ is abbreviation from Bunda; meanwhile ‘M’ stands for Mulia. The choice of this mascot is because of the characteristics of dolphin. It is smart, diligent, sincere, and helpful. Furthermore, those positive values can be adapted to Biemers (name for all UBM’s stakeholder).Keywords : reception analysis, meaning, perception, mascot

Abstract

Pornography is a controversial topic, especially in Indonesia. There’s always ‘pro’ and ‘contra’ opinion. Some people who are pro to pornography see that it as a part of freedom of expression; meanwhile some consider that pornography doesn’t fit to religion’s values. Furthermore, pornography is an impact from foreign culture’s intervention through internet, film, song until artist like Lady Gaga.
