Abstract

This reseach is based on the variety interpretations on the human puppet show on the mahabarata story in Indonesia. These various interpretations produce a lot of style and one of them is Surakarta style.The interpretation of Surakarta style can be observed by the dancer’s costume which have the uniquecharacteristic adapted by local tradition.The goal of this research is to make a deep and detail data in the using of mahabarata’s dancer costume in Surakarta style. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The subjects of the research are Mahabarata’s human puppet show in Sriwedari, Indonesian Institute of The Arts (ISI) Surakarta, and Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah (TBJT) Surakarta. The steps in thisresearch are literature review, data collection and draw conclusion. The conclusion is The use of the puppet costume of the mahabarata series, Surakarta style was adjusted to the characteristics of the puppet figures and plays performed. Costume design is the result of visualization of fashion on the human puppet show. Thesuggestion of this research can be used as the reference in the mahabarata’s dancer costume of Surakarta style and provide the knoeledge contribution as an effort to preserve human puppet in Surakarta style.

Abstract

Traditional art is more hereditary and follows the existing standards, while modern art is more towards novelty and longs for fresh works. Creative artists will produce works that can be enjoyed both visually and conceptually. The art of wayang godhong performance is one of the mediums of expression about the traditions and lives of tobacco farmers in treading their lives. Wayang godhong is expected to be asustainable art and can also be included as contemporary art that combines tradition and contemporary art. Wayang godhong is indeed a unique and interesting work of art that combines performances and works of art that are embodied in the figures of the puppet forms. The works of art that are displayed become a puppet. Wayang godhong already has a lot of fans, besides that wayang godhong can also be used as an effective communication medium other than as a medium of education, especially knowledge of art and culture. In this study, the author uses an interactive art creation methodology with children, and effective two-way communication occurs so that art and culture knowledge education for children in Kalisak, Salaman, Magelang can be achieved.

Abstract

 This design aims to make games as a means of education, especially for the younger generation. This design focuses on game design by incorporating historical elements such as Javanese script. The process of designing the game "Return of the Aji Saka" is one of the approaches to learning about culture, especially Javanese script. This design method uses a sequential approach, where a progress as air flows through the phases namely planning, gathering the necessary requirements, knowledge, concepts, and designs. The results of this design can be in the form of promotional media such as artbooks, exhibition booths, online advertising as top-line media (Above the line) and posters, X-banners, stickers, T-shirts, mugs, pins, key chains as bottom-line media (Below the line). line). The design of this game is expected to increase a sense of concern for the younger generation of cultural preservation, especially Javanese script. In addition, it is expected to be an alternative for teenagers to learn Javanese script culture in the digital era like today.

Abstract

Mukhlisa Sabilla. C0915029. 2019. Backdrop Design for Wedding using the Macrame Technique. Final Project: Textile Craft Study Program, Faculty of Arts and Design, Sebelas Maret University. “Designing backdrop for wedding using the macrame technique” aims to explore the makame knots made into wedding decorations. The design results into an innovative product and has product differentiation. The realization of the product can add to the visual wealth of macrames that function aswedding decorations. The result of the design is a backdrop for wedding made with macrame techniques by taking the idea of the shape of flora sirih gading leaves and lotus flowers, the form of fauna butterflies, kawung motifs, wjikan, ukel/besusulan, tumpal/sorot and tassels. Backdrop consists of 3 parts, the main part is in themiddle, the complement is on the left and right. Laying the backdrop on a wooden frame inspired by the basic shape of the house. Backdrop with macrame technique offers different nuances in terms of aesthetics and visual appearance.

Abstract

The creation of this final project entitled The Struggle for the School Period as an Inspiration for the Creation of Painting Art is a response to the author's experience of being part of rural children who have dreams of studying in a big city. The limit of the discussion is on the struggle of a child in an underprivileged family, determined to study at the SMK level in Solo, which tends to require a lot of money than school in the village. The struggle for the school period is a form of effort to complete the study period smoothly even though there are constraints. The purpose of the creation of this final project is to create a work of art that painting inspiration from the struggles of the school period by explaining the concept of its creation, the process of its creation and the meaning of the artwork created. The creation of works refers to the three stages of creation proposed by Herman Von Helmholtz, including the stages of collecting facts, data and sansation, the deposition stage and the stage of expressing the form of an artwork. This final project produces six works of decorative-surrealistic painting that emphasize visual forms by cultivating stylization, deformation and transformation using acrylic paint on canvas media and using plaque and sungging techniques as ideas for color processing.Keywords: school period struggle, painting, decorative-surrealistic, sungging

Abstract

In this research the author emphasizes how relief print techniques as a medium for duplication in propaganda poster works are able to present artistic beauty that has distinctive characteristics and is also able to provide awareness to those who see it. The reason the writer is interested in relief print techniques as a means of duplicating propaganda posters is because if you look at the history of relief print, its role wasvery important during the struggle, especially as a medium for duplicating posters of the struggle. Until now, relief print has also been used as a media for duplicating environmental criticism posters to awaken and as a means of education about the importance of protecting this environment. This writing aims to explore further about high printing techniques as a medium for duplication of environmental criticismpropaganda posters as a form of awareness and education about the environment, it turns out that graphic art is not only a form of art that has aesthetic value, but can also be a medium for duplication. The results of this paper are expected to be able to provide benefits in order to enrich the repertoire of graphic arts, especially relief print techniques.

Abstract

The creation of the painting in this final project was inspired by the life of the artist's family who believed that the joy of children was important in giving a positive impact on their lives. Happiness is the right of every human being, including children, regardless of their family background and the problems they are facing. The joy of children while playing is the main concern and is used as an idea in the creation of paintings. While the expression of the joy of children when playing, interacting, and socializing among them in the open is a concept that will be offered in this painting, with the hope that it can be a place to express ideas as well as be a lesson about the importance of having fun for children from an early age. The artist uses a method consisting of several stages, namely observation, incubation, documentation, and others. In its realization, several processes are carried out, namely making sketches of shapes, color blocking, working on details, finishing touches, and then packaging presentations to be presented in the form of exhibitions.

Abstract

This research takes the title Reprogramming Interior of Micro Houses as the Impact of Adapting New Habits in the New Normal Era. This applied research as an effort to reprogram the interior of residential houses,especially homes with limited land (micro houses) is an urgent verb to be carried out immediately to savethe smallest environment in the community against the dangers of a pandemic and the possibility of further outbreak movements.The problem formulation in applied research is 1) Why is interior reprogramming as a result of changes in human behavior in the new normal era needed to prevent the transmission of Covid 19 in the community? 2) How is interior design thinking reprogramming to find the basic concepts of residential interiors that are in accordance with the adaptation of habits in the new normal era? and 3) How is the interior design of residential houses in the new normal era? The purpose of the research is to find the concept of interior programming as a basis for planning residential interiors that are in accordance with the adaptation of new habits and COVID 19 health protocols in the New Normal era. This applied research is a qualitative research with analytical descriptive with design thinking approach. The designsolving approach uses a functional, ergonomic, technical and Covid 19 health protocol approach that is centered on the user center or users. The results of the research that will be achieved in interior design are: identification of the causes and needs for Reprogramming Interior of Micro Residential Houses as the Impact of Adapting New Habits in the New Normal era.
