Abstract

Salah satu indikator yang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur high order thinking skills (HOTS) mahasiswa dengan melakukan evaluasi hasil belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika dalam menyelesaikan soal High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) pada mata kuliah teori grup. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dengan teknik analisis isi. Penelitian ini melibatkan 18 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan Matematika Universitas Islam Majapahit (UNIM) dan 22 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya). Analisis data dilakukan dengan indikator soal high order thinking skills (HOTS) yang terdiri atas level analisis, evaluasi, dan mencipta. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa dari 18 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika UNIM, sebanyak 4 mahasiswa memiliki HOTS tinggi, 11 mahasiswa memiliki HOTS sedang, dan 3 mahasiswa memiliki HOTS rendah. Sedangkan dari  22 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika UM Surabaya, sebanyak 2 mahasiswa memiliki HOTS tinggi, 17 mahasiswa memiliki HOTS sedang, dan 3 mahasiswa memiliki HOTS rendah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki penguasaan aspek-aspek HOTS dalam memecahkan masalah grup tetapi belum merata.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Salafiyah Syafi?iyah Mojokerto dalam memecahkan masalah matematika ditinjau dari program study. Program study yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini adalah program study regular dan tahfidz. Pemilihan subjek penelitian dilaksanakan berdasarkan teknik pengambilan purposive sampling. Pengelompokan subjek penelitian ini berdasarkan pada kemampuan matematika siswa. Tingkat kemampuan matematika siswa dalam penelitian ini dikategorikan menjadi 3 yaitu kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Selanjutnya dari hasil pengelompokan kemampuan matematika siswa, setiap kelompok tingkat kemampuan matematika diambil satu dari setiap kelasnya. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes pemecahan masalah dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir matematis pada siswa program study regular dan tahfidz. Siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 program study tahfidz memiliki kemampuan berpikir matematis dalam memecahkan masalah matematika dapat dibedakan menjadi dua yaitu tinggi dan sedang. Kemampuan berpikir matematis yang tinggi dapat dipenuhi oleh subjek ST-T dan ST-S, dan kemampuan berpikir matematis yang sedang dipenuhi oleh subjek ST-R. Sedangkan kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa kelas XI MIPA 2 program study regular dalam memecahkan masalah matematika dapat dibedakan menjadi tiga sesuai dengan kemampuan matematika yang dimiliki oleh setiap subjek.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the types of student errors based on Newman in terms of the level of mathematical anxiety. This type of research is qualitative research. Research subjects were 9 students of class XIII Maniamas Middle School consisting of 3 students for each level of mathematical anxiety. Subject selection with purposive sampling. Data collection using test and interview methods. The validity of the data uses method triangulation. The results of this study are students from low mathematical anxiety levels producing errors in the form of process errors and coding errors . Students from the level of mathematical anxiety are producing errors in the form of transformation errors, calculation errors, and coding errors. Students from high levels of mathematical anxiety produce errors in the form of comprehension errors, transformation errors, process skills errors, and encoding errors.

Abstract

This research is triggered by low students learning outcomes in cube and cuboid material. It was occured because teacher was dominating learning activities. As a resuly, an alternatif learning activities based on flash based animation media. This research is a development of research. The purpose of this research is to produce the direct learning based on Macromedia Flash device which can improve student learning outcomes in class VIII on the topic cube and cuboid. Development of a learning device performed using 4-D models (model Thiagarajan et al). Learning device produced in the form of: (1) Lesson Plan (RPP), (2) Introductional Media Based on Macromedia Flash, (3)Student Worksheet (LKS), and (4) Learning Outcomes (THB).Based on the results of the test device, obtained by the direct learning based on Macromedia Flash have been valid according to the validator and qualified: (1) the ability to manage the learning criteria of good teachers, (2) the activity of students active in the learning process, (3) Classical learning completeness reached, (4) students response positive a learning component, (5) the learning outcomes test meet the criteria for a valid, reliable, and sensitive. Thus, it can be concluded that problem based learning was effective.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the characteristics of the device and the results development of set learning device with Problem Based Learning models oriented character education that was quality is valid, practical and effective. In this study developed learning tools in the form of Teacher Book and Student Books. The type of research used is design research. The subjects of this study were students of Denpasar State Middle School Saraswati 1. The Development of the learning tool follows the Plomp development procedure which includes the preliminary phases, prototype phase, and assessment phase. The learning device validity data was based on expert opinion. The practicality data of instructional devices is based on instruction learning device data, student response questionnaire and teacher response questionnaire. Data on the effectiveness of instructional tools were collected using mathematical problem-solving tests. The validation results indicated that the teacher book and the student books manuals developed obtained valid categories. The results of observation of the implementation of learning, repons students and teacher responses indicate that the implementation of learning was categorized as practical. Based on the results of the test the learning device was included in the effective criteria.

Abstract

This study aimed to include: 1) Describe the ability of male students to solve trigonometric problems, and 2) Describe the abilities of female students in solving trigonometric problems. The subjects used in this study were taken from students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, namely one female student and one male student. This research was a qualitative description research. Data collection was done by task-based interviews. The interview revealed the ability of students to solve trigonometric problems based on Polya's steps, namely understanding the problem, making plans, implementing plans and checking again. The data in this study were the results of interviews and tests of mathematical problems. The results showed significant differences between the two subjects. In the stage of understanding the problem, the stage of understanding the problem of male subjects uses more symbols in writing things that were known than female subjects. At the stage of compiling a completion plan, female subjects were more consistent in using formulas than male subjects. At the stage of carrying out the settlement plan, male subjects were better at using principles and writing symbols than women. At the stage of re-checking the settlement, female subjects were more systematic than male subjects.

Abstract

This research studied how the numerical solution of the Cauchy-Euler differential equation with Robin boundary conditions. There were several numerical methods that can be used to get the numerical solution of a boundary value problem, namely the finite-difference method, the shooting method, the collocation method, and others. In this study, the numerical solution of Robin's boundary condition problem was obtained by the center finite-difference and the shooting methods. From the two methods, the numerical error was compared to the exact solution. The simulation results shown that the shooting method produces a better numerical solution for approximating the completion of the Cauchy-Euler differential equation than the finite-difference method since it produced smaller numerical errors.

Abstract

This literature study research examined relevant theories about KMK and problem solving to discuss how KMK could help people when trying to solve problems, especially mathematical problems. Methods of data collection through literature study. The data obtained was compiled, analyzed in depth and concluded. The results showed that KMK played a role in maintaining and retrieving information in LTM. KMK could impact on successful problem solving namely supporting more effective problem solving by activating the retrieval and using of relevant information to the domain. KMK helped narrow the search space for appropriate solutions and could help problem solvers focused on problems and experiences that were lacking in the interruption of irrelevant information. KMK resources contributed to the development of domain related knowledge

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to increase the mathematics motivation of students of class X A of SMA Negeri 2 Muara Bungo through teaching learning and to describe the increased motivation of mathematics learning in class X A of Senior High School in Muara Bungo.This research is a Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this study were class X A students, amounting to 32 students. The study was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of two meetings. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and research. The data obtained were analyzed by means of reduction, data exposure and conclusion. Descriptive data analysis was also carried out for observational data. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the implementation of teaching in order to increase motivation to learn mathematics. From the results of observations of the implementation of team teaching, in the first cycle reached 90.48% and 100% in the second cycle. The results showed that there was an increase in student motivation as indicated by the average size of the percentage in student learning questionnaires, namely overall in the first cycle of 74.41% with the medium category being 87.28% with a high category in the second cycle.
