Abstract

It’s easy to find different hostel based on facility and environment. There is choice a house with a few rooms and single washroom, single kitchen, and single living room. But mostly is in hostel type, a big building with many rooms. We can find different type of room in big building, such as a room furnish with washroom, or few rooms with single washroom, or even many rooms in the same level with single washroom. Student living there comes from different race and culture. To be convenient, every occupant is accused to adapt suitably with others and its environment. The main problem of living in hostel is privacy matter. To be capable to help someone with privacy problem, we need to know “the intended privacy for student and privacy mechanism in a hostel.” With that information, it’s expected that hostel owner capable to build a better one so that occupants feel convenient to be living inside. The objective of this research is to explore privacy problem and behavior mechanism among University of Indonesia Advent students. Method which was used is qualitative method with case study approach. The steps performed on this case study were interview, observation, behavior map, and documentation. Result shows that subject didn’t manifest privacy problem because he/she has experienced of living in the same environment since secondary school. In this case, subject performed privacy mechanism in forms of verbal behavior, cultural and territorial. Key words: privacy, hostel

Abstract

Employee is one the most important element in a company. Each company has its own target and it’s easier to reach the target when company has good employees. Employee with good quality can be known for those who has high self-esteem, and to get higher self-esteem, employee must have assertive behavior as an important characteristic. The aim of this study is know the contribution of assertive behavior to self-esteem in employee. Participants of this study is 105 employee and this study uses quantitative approach. Simple regression shows F score around 53.159 (p < 0.01). The result tells us about the contribution of assertive behavior to self-esteem in employee. R2 score shows that the contribution of assertive behavior to self-esteem is about 34%, which means the rest contribution is considered from the other factors.Keywords: assertive behavior, self-esteem, employee

Abstract

The continuous disasters in Indonesia is increasing the possibility of the clinical symptoms on the victims called PTSR and PTSD. Psychosocial approach for this symptoms is important. But, the effect will more curative if clinical approaches is used to handel the PTSD symptoms even though it also depend on the theory and model used by the clinician. Abstract

New Age music is the same as Alternative music. The term New Age take various forms and directions. This music draws on some of the flow of the music on this list, temasuk Ambient, Minimalism, Native American, Drum and Percussion, World, Electronic, Celtic, and Alternative. In music also use this technique entrainment and binaural beats. Entrainment is a principle in physics and is defined as the synchronization of two or more rounds rhythm (synchronization of two or more cycles rhytmic). The principle of this special can be used to create a resonance or synchronization in the brain of a specific frequency. While binaural beats found in 1939 by German eksperimenter HW Dowe. Human ability to "hear" binaural beats appears to be the result of the evolution of adaptation. Some species can detect binaural beats because otaknya structure. Frequency binaural beats that can be detected very depending on the size of the shell species. In the human, binaural beats can didetekdi at approximately below 1500 Hz (Oster, 1973 in Atwater 2004). Problems of relevance is the ability to detect congenital brain difference in phase between the ears to the perception of encouraging binaural beats (Atwater 2004). This research is a research experiment with the 18 people subject to the control group and 27 groups of people to experiment. For the experiment group, space is the space that used audio visual Gunadarma University. Meanwhile, New Age music used was the work of Peaceful Place Ken Davis. By using the seven-speaker, which consists of four large speakers, two speakers and one medium-sized speaker is small. This experiment appeared to be significantly lower level of stress in the experimental group.Key Words: New Age Music, Stress

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know the differences of coping stress on the male dan female nurses. The participant of this study are 50 male nurses and 50 female nurses with the age range from 25 – 36 years old and already work as a nurse in 6 mounths. The result done by the T-test shows that there are no differences of coping stress(problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping and religion-focused coping stress) on the male and female nurses.Key words: coping stress, nurse

Abstract

Emotional abuse and domestic violence are the widespread social phenomenon in the world. Male domination that supported by the culture pushing the accident to be happened much more and being legitimate in the society. Its affect can give more than just a traumatic syndrome but the continuity of the accident by the children someday. The interesting fact is when we found that the accident can happen also in an opposite thing. Male can be battered by female in heterosexual relationship and the accident can be found in gay and lesbian couple. Even though the cause is different for each other but serious injuries and death become bad common consequences. Abstract

The aim of this research is to test empirically the connection between group conformity and free sex in adolescence. The method was using 59 statements of group conformity scale and 60 statements of free sex behavior in adolescence. The score was giving depend on favorable and unfavorable statements. Coefficient validity for group conformity was from 0,2551-0,6274 and 0,8038 for coefficient reliability. Coefficient validity for free sex behavior in adolescence was from 0,3706-0,7953 and 0,9560 for coefficient reliability. There was a positive significant corelation between group conformity and free sex behavior in adolescence, subject who had a higher group conformity would possibly do free sex behavior, otherwise subject who had a lower group conformity possibly wouldn’t do free sex behavior.Keywords: group conformity, free sex behavior, adolescence
