Abstract

The aims of this study was to determine whether there were ethical perception differences among students based on academic major, gender, and religiosity. It explored whether there was a perception gap between accounting students and non-accounting students, between male and female students, and between religious and non-religious students. The survey was conducted using questionnaire of 216 students to explore the ethical perception. It used five moral constructs: justice, relativism, egoism, utilitarianism, and deontology. At significant level of 5% with the independent sample t-tests, it was found that were different perception in justice, relativism, and deontology contracts between accounting and non-accounting students.  It displayed that in most of construct accept deontological, the accounting students had higher ethical values compared to non-accounting students.  The second result displayed that female students showing higher ethical perception toward their male students, and finally it was not displayed that there was different ethical perception between religious and non-religious students.

Abstract

Behavioral finance is very important in one's decision-making when investing. Many factors affect the financial investors in the process of financial investment decision. This study aims to: (1) for test whether there is any difference in the financial investment decision process when viewed from demographic variables such as occupation, gender, and age of financial knowledge, (2) for test the influence of internal factors consisting of perception, motivation, learning, financial knowledge and external factors consisting of product, price, place/location, promotion, physical evidence, process, people and customer service to the investor's decision. The type of this research is descriptive quantitative. The sample in this study consist of 100 financial investors in the city of Medan. Discriminant and multiple regression analysis with stepwise method is used to test the hypothesis. The results showed: (1) there are significantly differences in the process of financial investment decisions based on demographic variables such as occupation, gender, and financial knowledge. While there was no difference in the financial investment decision process based on age categories, (2) process, motivation and customer service variable, have a positive and significant impact on investors' decision.

Abstract

The research aim to analysis the affects of: (1) the leadership style; (2) the organization culture; (3) the carrier development toward organization commitment and (4) the leadership style; (5) the organization culture; (6) the carrier development; (7) the organization commitment toward performance. This research applied on Regional Government Makassar City. Population all of medic employees as amount 590 persons. Sample as amount 382 respondents  with analysis used Structural Equation Model with aim AMOS 18 program.The result of research found that the leadership style have positive affect and insignificant toward commitment. This mean that the application of leadership style such as forced, autocracy, affiliation, quickly, democracy and trainer cannot do implementation of work totality by employee in commitment to progress the organization. The leadership style have ngative and significant affect toward performance through commitment. This show the application of leadership style not yetable to increase the performance, because the employee have low commitment. The carrier development give dominant, positive and significant affected toward organization commitment, which mean that the employee very desire, opportunity to increase the job carrier, so get affected of work commitment.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether escalation of commitment at individual who has internal locus of control will be bigger than individual who has external locus of control if getting the negative information and escalation of commitment at individual who has internal locus of control can be mitigated by the information of future benefit of alternative investment. The research was conducted by using experiment approach with investment case that was adapted from experiment designed Ghost (1997). Sixty subjects were participation in experiment is the student at six semester of Accounting Study Program–Politeknik Negeri Malang. Experiment applies 2 x 2 factorial designs. Escalation of commitment variabel is investment decision, whereas internal-external locus of control was measured by using Rotter’s instrument (1966). The hypothesis testing was done by using one-way ANOVA (F-Test) and the treatment effect was tested by using post hoc test with scheffe method. Experiment result expresses that escalation of commitment on individual who has internal locus of control was bigger than individual who has external locus of control, when they got the negative information and escalation of commitment at individual who has internal locus of control can be mitigated by the information of future benefit of alternative investment.

Abstract

There are problems of life satisfaction in the academic personnel of public universities in East Java. Therefore, this study aims to determine the management of social factors, namely social capital, social capital benefits and human capital to the life satisfaction of academic personal.And to test the conceptual model of the research. Methods used to obtain data Cronbach’s Alpha and the search result was around 0,6654–0,8854. Collected data was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the problems, test the objective and test the hypothesis. This result indicate that (a) the three factors of social capital (social capital benefit, human capital) have significant impact on life satisfaction. Minimum rate score above 3 to near 5. (b) Social capital and life satisfaction have significant correlation 0,037 of star sign. (c) Social capital and social capital benefit have no significant correlation 0,065. (d) Social capital and human capital have significant correlation 0,040. (e) Social capital benefit and life satisfaction have significant correlation 0,045. (f) Human capital and life satisfaction have significant correlation 0,042 and to fulfilled at least 2 criterias good fit measure: Probability, RMSEA and TLI.

Abstract

This research analyse influence of education, job experience, level of parent education and amount of sibling to wages and family income at Indonesian family. Hereafter this research analyse how total family income to measure education and experience role give same explanation than utilizes wage measure. This research will utilize model Mincer Wage Regression on Indonesian family. Analisis's method utilizes IV (Instrumental Variable).  The data will be used is panel data from IFLS (Indonesian Family Life Survey)  which is IFLS 3 years 2000 and IFLS 4 years 2007. Result observation was point out that amount of sibling not significant influence to average education of employment at family, meanwhile parent education is influence signifikan to average education of employment at family. Hereafter average education and experience of employment is significant influence to income and wage at Indonesian family. Then wages measure point out stronger influence than by use of measure total income to measure how education and experience influence to family income at Indonesian.

Abstract

Banking industry plays a very important role in Indonesian economy. Therefore, stability of banking system is considered substantial by the government. Bank Indonesia (BI), the central bank; Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) and Financial Services Authority (FSA) seeks to preserve the stability of banking system using policy of capital adequacy ratio (CAR), the maximum limit of non-performing loan (NPL) and the obligations to become member of deposit insurance. This study wants to examine whether these regulations affect the level of deposits, moral hazard risk and the net interest margin (NIM) in Indonesian commercial banks in the period 2000-2012. Using a sample of 99 commercial banks with panel data regression method, the result demonstrate implementation of deposit insurance negatively but not significantly affect level of commercial bank deposits while variable CAR and NPL is giving negative and significant effect. Implementation of deposit insurance proved increasing moral hazard risk while variable CAR and NPL have negative and significant effect on the moral hazard risk. Other findings showed implementation of deposit insurance and CAR positively but insignificant affect NIM, but negatively and significant influenced by NPL.
