Abstract

The objectives of this research were to identify the relationship between entrepreneur intention (Y) and information of entrepreneur intention (X1), model of parents' guidance to entrepreneur intention (X2), and the attitude of entrepreneur cooperation to entrepreneur intention (X3) in them. Besides, the study also seeks the correlation between information of entrepreneur intention (X1), model of parents’ guidance to entrepreneur intention (X2), and attitude of entrepreneur intention (X3). Questionnaires were used to investigate the model of parents' guidance, and attitude of entrepreneur cooperation to entrepreneur intention. The result showed that there were significant linear regression of entrepreneur information to entrepreneur intention (26,7%) and significant linear correlation among variables that are information, model of parents' guidance, and attitude of entrepreneur cooperation with entrepreneur intention (5,8%).

Abstract

Brain -based teaching model is a new paradigm that can facilitate students in optimizing student learning by the functioning the brain as a whole. Lessons are held today assume that all students equally so that learning provide the same services to each student in the class. With this model, the students are given different stimulation according to their abilities and needs. Base on brain learning theory -based teaching, the learning should pay attention to the five needs of the brain in general. The fifth factor is the need for a sense of comfort, the need for interaction, the need for knowledge, the need for the activity and the need for self-reflection. All these needs will be connected if the lecturers able to present emotional learning, social learning, cognitive learning, physical learning and teaching reflection. Key Word : Instrucetional, Brain Based teaching, Learning.Copyright © 2015 by Al-Ta'lim All right reserved

Abstract

Students’ interpersonal problems with their peers, parents, and teachers have become more critical in the present society that serious attention must be paid to overcome it.  Therefore, Islamic counseling model which is derived from the Quranic principles has been developed to sustain the wealthy condition of individual students. The purpose of this research is to develop an effective Islamic counseling model that may increase students’ interpersonal competency in  MAN I Bandung.  To achieve such a purpose, then, a Research and Development (RD) through need assessment, development, experiment, and model revise were set up.  A quasi – experiment with “Pretest – Posttest Control Group Designs” procedure has been implemented to test the model being developed. The finding showed that the level of student’s interpersonal competency before the treatment varied greatly. The post-test score after the treatment, however, showed that their interpersonal competencies got significantly improved. This improvement suggests that student’s interpersonal competency should be developed in terms of: self perceptive and other people, self firm, become comfortable with one self and other people, become independent person, realistic expectation to oneself and other people, and self protection in interpersonal situations.Keywords:   Islamic Counseling Model and Interpersonal CompetencyCopyright © 2015 by Al-Ta'lim All right reserved

Abstract

Writing in a foreign language (English) has been a highly instrumental for EFL Undergraduate learners because they are required to write assignments, papers, and dissertations.  Yet, the course offered and passed to fulfill the writing requirements was meager especially in the language content.  Hence, this project aimed at finding out the sentence problem made by the students in essay writing.  Using 5 data sources from students’ writing, the study was focused on exploring students’ mistakes in the use of cause-effect.   The finding of this study showed that the most sentences problem made by the students in cause-effect essays were 24 sentences problem in run-on sentences and comma splice and the least were 2 sentences problem in choopy sentences.

Abstract

The keyword to achieve quality education is depend on  profesional teacher  in their fields, therefore there should be a concrete step in an effort to lift the image of the teacher  profession as an honorable profession, so that teachers can work as much as possible in building a quality education. Professional responsibility of teachers is not fragmentary, but with entirely, completely, as much as possible from upstream to downstream. All thing are not only teacher responsibility of the students or schools, but will be fully responsible to Allah SWT.

Abstract

The study aims to develop a learning model through mobile learning in the Social Sciences Department of Tarbiyah Faculty of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. This research is a developmental research. This research is aimed at developing a mobile learning model that is expected to be able to produce a product in the future. The product produced is in the learning development model through mobile learning in the Social Sciences Department of Tarbiyah Faculty of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the development of learning models through mobile learning in the Social Sciences Department of History of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang was effective in increasing students' interest in Social Sciences Department History and Development of practical learning models through mobile learning developed in Social Studies Department History of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching UIN Imam Bonjol Padang deserves to be developed in order to improve the quality and interest of students in the learning process.

Abstract

This case study aimed to evaluate the rural area learners’ writing self-efficacy using two different approaches which are qualitative and quantitative approach. It involved three form four students and a teacher for six months. In this study, the learners’ writing self-efficacy was investigated using a combination of quantitative and qualitative (classroom observation). Classroom observation was based on three characteristics: persistence in accomplishing language tasks, self-awareness of English proficiency, and willingness to engage in language activities. These characteristics which were concept of self-efficacy. This study did not focus on the score of WSE scales alone but also placed a heavy emphasis on the perceptions and actions of the form four students and teacher. Altogether, 15 non-participant classroom observations, 10 interviews with each of the three students and 10 teacher’s interviews were carried out to understand the participants’ self-efficacy phenomena in their learning to write. Findings showed that the combination of different method of collecting data for writing self-efficacy was a feasible way in explaining rural learners’ writing self-efficacy development.

Abstract

Character education is a positive offer in the eradication of moral crises which particularly emerged in our students.  Therefore, the internalization of values of character education in the educational institution is a must.  As an Islamic education institution in Indonesia, the existence of Boarding school is considered to be able to develop values of character education which may be done through formal or non-formal curriculum.  This is so because since its early existence, Boarding school has delineated its distinctive feature which is different from the other common types of education.  Here, the implementation of character values have been integrated (within large portion) in the religious subjects.Copyright © 2013 by Al-Ta'lim All right reservedDOI: 10.15548/jt.v20i3.41

Abstract

Motivation plays important role in language learning. It has contributed to grow student’s interest in learning Arabic language. This research is aimed to describe real case in State Islamic Senior High School (MAN) Sumenep and Nurul Islam Senior School Sumenep. This study was conducted through qualitative research approach which multi-case study was as research design. The findings are; a. the intrinsic motivation to learn Arabic are that students have an interest in Arabic owing to they need to understand the Quran and intend to continue to pursue higher level, and have positive attitude towards Arabic, b. the extrinsic motivations are their father boost and encourage them to learn the Arabic language, and majority of their teacher are able to use the Arabic language well, and then the Arabic teacher chooses the precise and good method of teaching and learning which enable them to enjoy deepening that language, as well as the heads of both schools have good ability in applying the Arabic language. Furthermore, by various methods of teaching and learning, the Arabic teacher can engage the student motivation to learn that language which formally is used as official language of Islam. In additionally, the use of many kinds teaching medias and instruments and also advice and assistance helps the educator to increase pupil spirit in understanding and using the language.

Abstract

This study was conducted based on the problem of kyai leadership pattern in Islamic boarding school in Jambi which is considered as paternalistic and centralistic.  The study was aimed at exploring the effectiveness of kyai leadership at Islamic boarding schools in Jambi dealing with the following questions: 1) What kind of system is applied in the election of Islamic boarding school leader? 2) What kind of leadership model used in Islamic boarding school Jambi? 3) What is the effectiveness of the kyai leadership in relation with the vision, mission, management, and policy maker of that school? 4) What were the roles of kyai as the leader of Islamic boarding school among the society?  Qualitative design was used in this study and purposive sampling was employed to determine the respondents. Observation, interview and documentation were used to collect the data. It was found that: 1) The Islamic Boarding School of Nurul Iman applied deliberation and consensus system leader in which teachers, board of trustees and coordinator of Pecinan are participating in when electing the leader and the model of leadership in this school is charismatic.  The As’ad School leader’s election was based on family-tree system and the model of leadership in this school was paternalistic. In PKP Al-Hidayah, the leader is elected directly by the government of Jambi province as the owner of the school. 2) In general, the model of leadership applied in Islamic boarding school in Jambi was collective-passive model because generally Islamic boarding school at Jambi are under the management of particular foundation.3) The leadership of kyai is not effective because the management system applied was not effective. 4) The role of kyai among the society ran harmoniously. Based on the research findings, democratic and open election system are recommended in Islamic boarding school leader election to respect individual right to consider leader’s credibility, quality and acceptability.  Copyright © 2015 by Al-Ta'lim All right reserved
