Abstract

The integration of Islamic and science was done through integration-interconnected, referring to ontological, epistemological dan axiological perspectives. This paper will focus on the integration of Islam and science from axiological perspective.  In the view of axiology, science is seen as neutral and value-free; the value of science is given by its users. This condition motivates Muslim scholars to reintegrate science and religion. The first attempt made is my giving ideas on the Islamization of science. The attempt to Islamize the science in the Islamic world is dilemmatic, whether to wrap western science with the label of Islam or Islamic, or transforming religious norms based the Qur’an and the Hadith to fit empirical data. Both strategies are difficult if the effort is not based on the critic of epistemology.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine whether there is a significance effect on the use of Practicum methods by using Crocodile Program combined with lectures, question and answer activities give significant effect on  students’ activities in learning electricity simple lesson and to identify whether the use of the simulation lab provides better results than the traditional lab on learning outcomes. 36 natural science students was involved in the study. The data was analyzed by using t-test. The finding showed that the use of Practicum methods by using Crocodile Program combined with lectures; question and answer activities give significant effect on students’ activities in learning electricity simple lesson. The finding also showed that the use of the simulation lab can provide better results than the traditional lab on learning outcomes. It occurred when there is an adequate software capability and students can operate the software properly. Without taking into account about the cost of procurement of computers and software programs Crocodile, lab simulations are very low cost because it does not need to purchase laboratory equipment, supplies and other consumables. It is expected that Crocodile Program not only as a practical method to implement but also as a medium to explain the concepts of electronic circuits. Key words: Virtual Media, Circuits Materials.Copyright © 2015 by Al-Ta'lim All right reserved

Abstract

The high frequency use of phone- cell and short message service has produced various forms of new words.  These words create such variation of language that needs to be interpreted.  This is so because the results of abbreviations tend to go beyond grafology, syntax, and may produce psycholinguistic impacts.  The fact that the creativity of the language users are very expressive and subjective it frequently breaks the linguistic aspects.  These inappropriate words which is caused by irregular abbreviation seems so serious that writing  instruction of Indonesian at school must be reconsidered.  The phenomenon suggests that one can easily find students’ writing which are not understood, there have been so many illogical sentences, and ineffective language.  Therefore, school teachers have to work hard to rearrange students’ activity so that their writing skills may achieve the appropriate level based on the patterns of effective sentences.Copyright © 2013 by Al-Ta'lim All right reservedDOI: 10.15548/jt.v20i3.45
