The Journal of Innovation in Business and Economics (JIBE) is published by the Department of Economics and Business at University of Muhammadiyah Malang in 2017. Previously this journal was known as Jurnal Media Ekonomi that was initially published in 2000. In 2011 until 2016, this journal was renamed as Ekonomika Bisnis: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pemikiran. JIBE is a generalist; academic review covering all fields of business, management, accounting, and economics. The journal seeks to examine the emerging and state of the art future innovations in business, economics and management made possible by advances in information, communication, and technologies. We welcome contributions covering all fields of business innovations including, but not limited to information, communication and technologies applications in business, cost and revenue model, business ethics, business strategy, applications of innovation in business and management, entrepreneurship & innovation, information systems, international business & cross-cultural studies, marketing, organization studies, general management as well as micro and macro economics.

Abstract

One of the essential instruments designed for achieving the goals of sharia in Islam is fiscal policy. There are some key elements of Islamic fiscal theory, namely: 1) Islamic Economics, which comprises private sector, social/ voluntary sector, and public sector. The collaboration of these three sectors would provide an ideal Islamic economic institutional framework; 2) Zakat (taxation of income and wealth of a Muslim) as the basis of fiscal system; 3) Implementation of all fiscal instruments which disallow exploitation that results in usury (riba), uncertainty (gharar ), speculation, sinful (haram) products / services and all forms of meanness. 4) Allocation, distribution and stabilization functions of Islamic economics is administered and presented through all the sectors cooperatively; 5) Public sector does not affect significantly yet essential on condition that it works continuously to ensure optimum allocation of society resources, income distribution, and stability establishing

Abstract

The purpose of this investigation is to determine the regional financial performance in East Kalimantan. The initial step in this research was determining the variables used, namely: investment and economic growth. Afterward, collecting the data in the form of secondary data (time series) from 2009-2012 files in order to analyze the regional financial performance and the records from 2000-2012 to analyze the influence of investment and growth. Ultimately, the data was examined using multiple regression analysis. The result showed that the regional financial performance of East Kalimantan occupied the level of “good” in terms of independence, effectiveness, and harmony. Not much different, in terms of growth and proportions, their performance was still at the level of "good". Unfortunately, their effort in improving efficiency was still unsuccessful so that they were included in "poor" category. Further analysis showed that investment had positive and significant impact on the regional financial independence of East Kalimantan while economy growth factor did not affect anything.

Abstract

This theory analysis article aims to describe the meaning of mudharabah, explain about Sharia banks, and provide an overview on implementation of mudharabah in Islamic banking in Indonesia. Mudharabah takes place when there are investor (Shahibul mall), fund manager (mudharib), business activity, and profit sharing proportion (nisbah) agreement between investor and manager. Sharia banking should be performed based on some characteristics, specifically: usury (riba)-free, provides public services and realizes the socio-economic goals of Islam, universal, and applies profit and loss sharing. Moreover, mudharabah application in Islamic banking in Indonesia has the following characteristics: transactions must be intended to financing, business management is entrusted to mudhorib, and profits sharing system must be based on the principle of revenue sharing and proportion of profit sharing are subject to change during the term of the contract as agreed in the initial contract.

Abstract

Research on the characteristics of Indonesian Migrant Workers Former grantees Banking CSR is done in District Donomulyo Malang. The purpose of this study is to provide empirical evidence about the characteristics of former migrant workers so as to be considered the government to improve their welfare. Quota sampling techniques obtained 45 respondents. Data analysis with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results of this study indicate that migrant workers productive age (35.28 years) with an average experience of 5.8 years. The level of high school education. His favorite of Taiwan. Investment enough value the average Rp.108.000.000

Abstract

The study was intended to: 1) analyze the direct influence of Regional Income (PAD), General Allocation Fund (DAU), and the population toward Regional Expenditure. 2) Investigate the direct effects of Regional Income (PAD), General Allocation Fund (DAU) and the population to the Gross Domestic Regional Product (GDP). 3) Define the straight impact of regional expenditure to GDP in Berau. 4) Explain the indirect effects of Regional Income (PAD), the General Allocation Fund (DAU), and the population to GDP through the regional expenditure. 5) Describe the dominant effects of Regional Income (PAD), the general allocation fund (DAU) and the population to regional expenditure and GDP. The data used in this study were secondary and time series data. The result showed that Regional Income (PAD), General Allocation Fund (DAU), and total population have direct strong influence on regional expenditure and GDP. On the other hand, these factors have no significant impact to GDP through regional expenditure

Abstract

The basis of this study was to provide a comprehensible description of the gold pawn transaction implemented in sharia banks and would like to identify the effect of the gold pawn transactions toward bank profits. Accordingly, this research applied statistical test instrument, specifically multiple linear regressions and the results revealed that sharia (Rahn) pawn transaction revenue has a positive effect on net income in which the contribution of independent variables on the dependent variable indicated its R2 (R-squared)value by 21.08%. Since the independent variable was not the major product which affected the bank's net income, other 78.92% of net profit variable would be clarified by other variables which were not discussed in this study

Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the stock market reaction from the event when Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) is announced. The indication of stock market reaction was shown by appearing abnormal return during the date when the emiten are in the list of JII, and also several days before and after the annaouncement day. The method of this research is called event studies. Data collected from daily stock price from Indonesian Stock Exchange data base. By using market adjusted model, it was found that 21 stocks from JII latest list, during 11 days observation shown significant abnormal return, at 5% significant level. The conclusion from this finding is that the information of JII announcement has important content that caused the abnormal return during and around the announcement day. Moreover the information is shown a positive signal for investor, so that caused positive abnormal return

Abstract

The first purpose of the research was to determine the direct and indirect influence of Investment and Government Expenditure on Economic Growth and Regional Income in Berau, while the second purpose was to identify the direct influence of Economic Growth on Regional Income in Berau. In order to get accurate results, the research implemented 2 regression lines to analyze the data. The finding shown in Line Diagram 1 indicated that investment and government expenditure had a direct and significant effect on economic growth in Berau. Meanwhile, on the Line Diagram 2, it appears that investment and government expenditure had a direct effect and an indirect but significant impact on Regional Income in Berau.
