Abstract

Support Parents is the important thing and needed by a child especially in the transition as a new college student if they wander. This situation is causing new college students to be prone to depression. The purpose of this research is to analyze the support of parents with depression in new college students. Data collection was done using a questionnaire online with 110 respondents. The research was done in May-June 2020 on first-year students at Ailangga University Banyuwangi Campus. Data analysis using the chi-square. The result showed that the dimensions of parental support in the form of instrumental support (ρ=0.036) and appreciation support (ρ=0,00) having relationships because ρ values < 0,05. The research indicated that the majority of new students suffer from depression in the high category (50,9%). The result of the chi-square relationship supports parents with depression level in first college students = 0,012 (ρ<0,05). The value of ρ obtained less than 0,05 means there is a significant relationship between support parents with the level of depression in new college students. The result of this research can be used as reference policies on activities that will be held by the campus for the new college students, with the aim of preventing or reduce depression in new college students. This research can also be a reference for parents in providing support to their children.

Abstract

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a collection of symptoms and infections that arise due to damage to the human immune system due to infection with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The number of HIV patients at Panti Wilasa Hospital continues to increase from every year in 2018 the number is 150 HIV / AIDS patients. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the increase in CD4+ levels of HIV / AIDS patients receiving ARV therapy at Panti Wilasa Citarum and Dr. Cipto Hospitals Semarang. This research is a quantitative study, with a cross-sectional approach. The minimum sample of the study was 38 respondents using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis in this study using Multiple Logistic Regression. The results of the study, the most influential variables were clinical stage (p=0.000), and concomitant disease tuberculosis (p = 0.14) on the increase in CD4+ levels. The risk of HIV / AIDS transmission in Indonesia is the highest and until now, there is no cure for HIV. ARV therapy can inhibit the development of the HIV virus, giving ARVs is given if the CD4+ level is less than 500 cells / mm3, or there are other conditions in HIV patients. The importance of early awareness in ARV therapy for early initiation of ARVs is proven to be clinically beneficial, useful for prevention, increase life expectancy and reduce the incidence of HIV-related infections.

Abstract

Obesity is the buildup of abnormal or excessive fat that can be detrimental to health. High flavor-flavoring consumption or monosodium glutamate (MSG) is one of the factors contributing to the increase in obesity of the Indonesian population. This study aims to analyze the effect of MSG on giving to Lee's index in mice. The Lee index is one of the indicators in determining mice obesity. The type of research was pure laboratory experimental research, with the design Post Test Only Control Group. The mice were divided into four random clusters. Each cluster contained six mice. The control cluster was given standard feed + drink, cluster I was given standard feed + drink + MSG 10.4 mg / 20gbb, cluster II was given standard feed + drink + MSG 20.8 mg / 20gbb and cluster III was given standard feed + drink + MSG 26 mg / 20gbb for 28 days. Day 29 was the weight lift and the length to calculate the lee index. Data normality analyze used Spahiro Wilk and the homogeneity test used Levene's test. The results of the variance homogeneity test showed that the value of p = 0.374, so that the lee index value of each cluster did not have a significant difference (p> 0.05). Then continued with the One Way Anova test, the value of p = 0.246 (meaningful if p <0.05). It could be concluded that the provision of MSG 4 grams, 8 grams, and 10 grams did not have a significant effect on the lee index value in mice between the control cluster and the treatment cluster.

Abstract

Health and Clean Life Behaviors (CHLB) should be applied in daily life so that diseases cannot easily infect human. Children aged from 7 until 14 years have to be taught with CHLB concretely and theoretically. This research explores the general CHLB of Islamic Primary School Gunungpati, Semarang, and to improve CHLB cognition by applying Asset-based Community Development (ABCD). This research applied the mixed-method of qualitative and quantitative methods. The sample of the research consisted of the fifth-graders of the school. They were taken by purposive sampling.  The research subjects consisted of principals, home teachers, sports teachers, and various cognitive categorized learners. The applied instruments were interview guideline and CHLB cognitive test. The techniques of analyzing data were triangulation and test of CHLB cognitive improvement by using N-Gain test. The findings showed that the teaching-learning processes, especially dealing with CHLB, were still teacher-centred learning and lack of maximizing CHLB. In the learners' cognitive improvement test, the learners had improvements with a score of N-Gain test 0.47. It meant the improvement was categorized moderate.
