Abstract

Pain is the most common effects in patients after undergoing surgery of Caesarean section. Pain management using pharmacological and non pharmacological management, one of non-pharmacological management is using music therapy The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of music therapy on pain level of postoperative patients' with Caesarean section. The type of study is analytic with True Experimental type with Pre Post Test Control Group Design done by Random Allocation. The study population is post-operative Caesarean section mothers who are hospitalized in Surabaya Islamic Hospital Surabaya Jl. A Yani since May 2011. The Sample are some populations above mentioned with amount of 24 respondents, 12 respondents as a control and 12 respondents were given music therapy. The Sampling technique uses Consecutive Sampling. Independent variable is music therapy and dependent variable is pain level. The instrument used to measure the independent variables is a check sheet lists while the dependent variable is Descriptive Pain Intensity Scale. To analyze the changes of pain level in the control group and the treatment used Paired T Test, the result showed that values of ρ is 0.166 or (ρ > 0.05), so there is no significant change of pain level on a pre test and post test control group, whereas in treatment group obtained value of ρ is 0.000 or (ρ < 0.05), so there is a significant change of pain level on a pre test and post test. To analyze differences of pain levels in control group and treatment group is used Independent T Test. The results of study got value of ρ is 0.807 (ρ > 0.05). So there is no significant difference of pain level pre test in control and treatment groups, while the post test value of ρ is 0.024 (ρ < 0.05). So there is a significant difference of pain level post test in control and treatment groups. So it can be conclude that there is influence of music therapy toward pain levels of postoperative patients of Caesarean section. Music therapy is expected to be used as a Complementary Therapy to reduce pain at the incision Caesarean section.

Abstract

People knew that Sauropus androgynus (L) Merr (katu’s leaf) have good nutrient and can enhance breast milk production. Study about influence of giving katu’s leaf extract fraction toward prolactin level and neuralgia cells in mice is not available recently. The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of giving katu’s leaf extract fraction toward prolactin level and neuralgia cells at mice, and influence prolactin level in breast feeding mouse towards amount of neuralgia cells in mice. Method of this study is laboratories experiment ”the post test-only control group” type experimental animals is mouse (Rattus norvegicus). The samples are 24 breast feeding mice with body weight 150-200 gram and divided into 4 groups, that are control group and treatment group which is given katu’s leaf extract fraction. Treatment group 1 with the dosage 24 mg, treatment group 2 with the dosage 48 mg and treatment group 3 with the dosage 72 mg. Treatment begun at the 3rd day post delivery until the 11th day. The 12th day the mouse is killed, blood from pericardium taken for prolactin test, while the mice is killed and it’s brain made as substance for testing of amount of neuralgia cells. Study result of prolactin with One Way Anova got significant difference (ρ=0,000). Continued with Post Hoc test got significant difference at C–T2, C–T3, T1–T2, T1–T3, and T2–T3. Result of neuralgia cells test at One Way Anova got significant difference (p=0,000).  Continued with Post Hoc test got significant difference at C–T2, C–T3, T1–T2, T1–T3, and T2–T3. Result of linier regression test got ρ (0.940) > α (0,05), means there is no influence prolactin level in breast feeding mouse towards amount of neuralgia cells in mice. The conclusion of the study was prolactin level in breast feeding mouse and amount of neuralgia cells in mice after giving katu’s leaf extract fraction have prolactin level higher and amount of neuralgia cells increase at the dosage 48 and 72 mg. If this study will be applied to human, should be done laboratorial test. More study about containing of breast milk after giving katu’s leaf extract fraction need to be continued.

Abstract

The proliferation of nursing higher education in Indonesia increases the number of nurse graduates in Indonesia. Unfortunately, it is not equivalent with the jobs provided for them as well as their low motivation to catch the opportunity to work abroad. Therefore, this research was purposed to describe the motivation of students of Stikes Yarsis in facing the international nursing job opportunity. The type of research was descriptive involving all students of the second and fourth class in the program of study S1 Nursing Stikes Yarsis as the population. The samples were taken from all population by applying the total sampling technique, totally 184 respondents. Moreover, the research variable was the motivation of students of Stikes Yarsis in facing the international nursing job opportunity. The result showed that half of the respondents, 92 students, had a low motivation in facing the international nursing job opportunity. Low motivation is one of the factors which influence the students not to catch the job opportunity abroad. Hence, Stikes Yarsis as the nursing education provider is expected to be able to increase their motivation by giving information, providing facilities which support the students in developing their ability in speaking foreign languages, as well as building networking with institutions outside this country so that the graduates will easily get a job abroad.

Abstract

One of the provisions of law which has been described in the Qur'an is the problem radha'ah (feeding) or lactation. The word of Radha'ah in the Qur’an is used for two meaning: first, as one reason for marriage forbidden due to foster sister (QS. al-Nisa’: 23), and second, as the activity of breastfeeding for the mother to her baby, in which the milk becomes the main food for babies, especially the first six months of birth, and highly recommended it be given to infants until two years old (Surah al-Baqarah: 233). Feeding activity is a series of pregnancy, childbirth and infant care. The fourth activity has been established by Allah to each of women as the nature  and the trust as well. All of these gifts, recognized by the Qur'an as a condition that is very exhausting and burdensome to mother, but noble in the sight of Allah. Therefore, children must be grateful, respectful and dutiful to his parents, so that they can remember the good, service, and the struggle of his parents (Luqman: 14, al-Ahqaf: 15) Radha'ah as the main activity of the mother after the birth of her baby, bring benefits to both mother and baby. Breastfeeding can build psychological situation of calm and full of affection between mother and child. However, in practice, interest of mother in giving breastfeed declined, whereas the Qur’an has set the terms of breastfeeding, obligations and rights of mothers to breastfeed, breastfeeding and weaning time limit. The father should provide to mother during breastfeeding or find a woman to give breastfeeding and these conditions causes mahram. In addition, breast-feeding should be intended for the worship of Allah so the mother had the pleasure and reward from Him.

Abstract

Gangrenous wounds is one of the chronic complications of diabetes that most feared by every diabetic patient (Tjokroprawiro, 2007). Gangrenous wounds is a condition that begins from the tissue hypoxia where oxygen is reduced, it will affect the activity of vascular and cellular networks, which results in tissue damage (Guyton, 2006). TOHB (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or HBO therapy (Hyperbaric Oxygen) is a way to increase tissue oxygen levels, by reducing the swelling caused by vasoconstriction of blood vessels. At the same time, TOHB also increases oxygen levels in the blood (Neubauer, 1998). Oxygen is expected to penetrate through to the peripheral tissues are deprived of oxygen, so that the supply of nutrients and oxygen are met, so that the network can do metabolism and function (Smeltzer, 2002). Review was conducted at 10 research/article. Search strategy articles by using two ways: manual and online libraries. This search is getting 113 articles, but the total articles reviewed were the 10 articles. 1 studies are case reports and 9 research is experimental research with 5 studies using random techniques. TOHB with adequate doses can have a positive effect on wound healing and reduce the risk of amputation. TOHB beneficial to improve peripheral perfusion and decrease the incidence of major amputation. However, there has been no research on the psychology of the patient.

Abstract

The type of sport suggested for Diabetes Mellitus patient is Diabetes Gym, but most societies, especially diabetes mellitus patients are lazy to do it. On diabetes mellitus type 2, diabetes gym acts as glycemic control which manages and control blood sugar rate. This research purposes to know diabetes gym influence toward the decrease of blood sugar rate on Diabetes Mellitus patient type 2 in Puskesmas Pakis Surabaya. This research used quasy experiment design. Total of the population of all Diabetes Mellitus patients type 2 is 28 respondents taken by probability sampling - simple random sampling technique; 14 respondents in control group and 14 respondents in treatment group. The independent variable is Diabetes Gym and the dependent variable is the decrease of blood sugar rate. Data are collected by using Glucometer, striptest, needle and observation sheet. Data are analyzed by using Wilcoxon signed rank test with α < 0.05. The result of this research shows that almost all of the respondents in the treatment group have a good category of blood sugar decrease after performing gym, meanwhile almost all of the respondents in control group that do not perform gym have an adequate category of blood sugar decrease. Then, the result is analyzed by Wilcoxon signed rank test and obtained ρ (0,019) < α (0,05) so H0 is refused. It means that there is an influence of diabetes gym to the decrease of blood sugar on the Diabetes Mellitus patients type 2 in Puskesmas Pakis Surabaya. Performing Diabetes Gym influences in decreasing blood sugar rate.
