Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the types of dung beetles that live in the Bukit Mangkol conservation forest area, Bangka Islands have done. This research uses a descriptive method. Data retrieval is done using the Baited Pitfall Trap technique using bait in the form of cow feces and hand collecting. Data collection is carried out at several elevation points based on the type of vegetation (100, 200, 300 and 400 masl). The results of this study found 76 individual dung beetles consisting of eight species, two genera, two tribus and two subfamilies. Dung beetles found include Onthophagus gazella, Onthophagus productus, Polyphemi Onthophagus, Onthophagus sp. 1, Onthophagus sp. 2, Onthophagus sp. 3, Onthophagus sp. 4 and Serica sp. 1. The results of the analysis of the characteristics of dung beetle communities in the Bukit Mangkol conservation forest area were based on the community diversity index of 1.93, the species richness index was 1.62 and the evenness index was 0.93. Based on the results of the analysis, the diversity of dung beetle communities in the Bukit Mangkol conservation forest area is moderate, with a low species richness of dung beetles and evenly distributed species without the dominance of one type of dung beetle. The results of this study are expected to provide additional information on the types of dung beetles and as biology enrichment material for class X senior high school in Basic Competence 3.2 Analyzing various levels of biodiversity in Indonesia along with their threats and preservation.Keywords: Dung beetle, Scarabaeidae and Cow Fece ABSTRAKPenelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kumbang tinja yang hidup di kawasan hutan konservasi Bukit Mangkol Kepulauan Bangka telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pengambilan data digunakan teknik Baited Pitfall Trap menggunakan umpan berupa tinja sapi serta hand collecting. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada beberapa titik ketinggian berdasarkan jenis vegetasinya (100, 200, 300 dan 400 mdpl). Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan 76 individu kumbang tinja yang terdiri dari delapan spesies, dua genus, dua tribus dan dua subfamili. Jenis kumbang tinja yang ditemukan antara lain Onthophagus gazella, Onthophagus productus, Onthophagus polyphemi, Onthophagus sp.1, Onthophagus sp.2, Onthophagus sp.3, Onthophagus sp.4 dan Serica sp.1. Hasil analisis karakteristik komunitas sebagai berikut: nilai indeks keanekaragaman komunitas sebesar 1,93, indeks kekayaan jenis sebesar 1,62 dan indeks kemerataan jenis 0,93. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, maka keanekaragaman komunitas kumbang tinja di Kawasan Hutan Konservasi Bukit Mangkol tergolong sedang, dengan kekayaan jenis kumbang tinja yang rendah dan kemerataan jenis yang merata tanpa ada dominansi salah satu jenis kumbang tinja. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi tambahan mengenai jenis kumbang tinja dan sebagai materi pengayaan Biologi SMA Kelas X pada Kompetensi Dasar 3.2 Menganalisis berbagai tingkat keanekaragaman hayati di Indonesia beserta ancaman dan pelestariannya.Kata kunci: Kumbang tinja, Scarabaeidae dan Tinja Sapi

Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul Pengembangan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Berbasis Multiple Intelligences Pada Materi Jamur Kelas X SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development)  yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan produk lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) berbasis multiple intelligences pada materi jamur kelas X SMA agar peserta didik lebih aktif pada saat proses pembelajaran dengan di kembangkannya LKPD tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Agustus Tahun 2018 di SMA Sriguna Palembang. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah 92 peserta didik dari jumlah keseluruhan populasi sebanyak 120 peserta didik. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan Simple Random Sampling. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan menggunakan metode Tessmer yang terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu tahap expert review (pendapat ahli), one-to-one evaluation (uji perorangan), small group (uji kelompok kecil) dan field test (uji lapangan) namun peneliti hanya mengembangkan sampai pada tahap small group saja. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data penelitian adalah wawancara, observasi dan angket. Instrumen uji kevalidan berupa angket para ahli dan angket respon peserta didik. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisi dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan uji coba kelayakan LKPD yang dikembangkan berada pada kata gori nilai kelayakan dengan kategori baik. Rerata skor dari hasil penelitian respon peserta didik menggunakan angket dari 92 peserta didik adalah 3,97. Artinya dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD berbasis multiple intelligences pada materi jamur kelas X SMA memiliki nilai kelayakan dengan katagori baik. Hal ini menandakan bahwa LKPD yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain information about students' creativity in arranging the results of practicum activities in the botany of non-vascular plant course.  This research was used descriptive design. The participants of this study were third semester biology education students (n=25) at a state university in Sumatera, Indonesia. The student was taken botany of non-vascular plant course. The instruments used in this research were performance instruments that measured students' creative thinking skills, questionnaires and observation guidelines that have been developed. The performance instrument used contains several indicators, namely: fluency, flexibility, originality dan elaboration. The data of creative thinking skills were processed by calculating the percentage (%) for each indicator and categorized into four levels (very creative, creative, quite creative and less creative). The results showed that students' creative thinking ability in compiling reports on the practicum activities is (2.68) classified into creative categories with an average of each indicator that are: fluency (3.06); flexibility (2.96), originality (2.95), and elaboration (1.76). The results show that the average student has good creative thinking skills in compiling reports of the practicum activities of botany of non-vascular plant course

Abstract

Snake bite management is a stage that must be involved in dealing with snake bite problems. Attitude toward snakes is an evaluation or reaction of someone feelings toward snakes. The aim of this research was to know collage student attitude toward snakes and the effect of snake bite management training on collage student attitude toward snakes. The method used for this research was quasi experiment. The precondition test, result showed data distributed normal and homogenous. Data analysis uses gain score and hypothesis testing using the t test. The result of study showed that there was a significant different in the average score of attitude of biology students to animals in the experimental class and control class. This research showed there is an effect of snake bite management training on student attitudes towards snakes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the environmental research activities conducting by teacher trainees through Project Based Learning at Malacca River. The participants of this qualitative case study was involved two teacher trainees majoring in Science from Institute of Teacher Education Technical Education Campus. The research data were obtained through observations, documents and unstructured interviews. The findings showed that environmental research activities was carried out through in-situ and ex-situ process for investigate the water qualities of Malacca River. This study generally indicates that the implementation of Project Based Learning can improving the quality of teachers as well as help improve the skills of science processes and the manipulative skills of trainee teachers in conducting scientific investigations. In conclusion, this study may serve as a guide to shape individual development towards the growth of environmentally-smart citizen.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of students' misconceptions on photosynthesis using the four tier diagnostic test instrument in class XII Science Public Senior High School 2 Singapore, Tasikmalaya Regency, in the Academic Year 2019/2020. Photosynthetic material is an abstract concept and is considered difficult for students to understand, material that is considered difficult allows misconceptions. Four tier diagnostic test is one of the diagnostic tests that can be used to determine students' misconceptions. This study uses a qualitative descriptive This four-tier diagnostic test instrument was given to research subjects consisting of 40 students and diagnostic interviews were conducted on students who had identified misconceptions to determine the cause of the misconceptions. Based on research that has been done, it was found that students 'misconceptions on photosynthetic material were found with a percentage of 25.75% with low categories and the causes of these misconceptions stemmed from wrong preconceptions, lack of students' ability, and wrong intuition.
