Abstract

Education as a conscious and planned effort as stated in the National Education System Act no. 20, 2003 relates to three developmental targets, namely: the development of spiritual power, intelligence and morality. However, the existence of dichotomy in science and education makes the direction of education lose its essential weight.  For this reason, such a dichotomy must be deconstructed to produce synergy and integration between intellectual and spiritual entity. Education in general and Islamic education in particular must not be conceived partially, so the core value of education can be realized. The idea of human as a living spiritual entity in Islamic education can be realized by revitalizing and conceptualizing the role and meaning of Islamic education by developing and changing curriculum in both content and purpose, as an effort to entrench spirituality as the basis of orienting Islamic education.

Abstract

In an attempt to strengthen inherent values in this era of development and globalization, Mu’adalah Islamic boarding school is always struggling to maintain its identity by being open to systems which come from outside influence. By providing reinforcements in its educational system, Islamic boarding school has successfully maintained its existence over time. This is usually characterized by both shifts and changes that take place in line with current ages. There are two aspects that undelie the success of the performance of Mu’adalah Islamic boarding school: First, its legal status, by which it refers to the state whereby Islamic boarding schools are able to maintain their legal status every four year. Second, the quality of its graduates, by which it refers to the condition where the graduates of certain Islamic boarding schools conform with the standards set by the internal organization as well as those derived from the demands of more general community. In general, all of these are done on the basis of three renewals, namely: the curriculum, methodology and by optimizing Islamic boarding school as a community development center.

Abstract

Verbal art performance of the holy Qur'an embodied in folklores constitutes an effort in performing da’wahs in addition to learning and teaching the values of the Qur'an to the community through an easy-to-understand cultural approach, both in the form of fairy tales, tembang (traditional songs), etc. Some of these folklores constituted the results of the verbalization of the teaching of the Qur'an to the community. The present study traced the roots of the emergence of verbal art performance of the holy Qur'an in the form of folklore, as well as to understand its functions and acceptability in the society. The study employed literature- or library-research approach, since all sources used for this study were in the form of interpretation of books, such as history books, journals and magazines that were related to the topic. Data were analyzed through a qualitative approach involving deductive methods. This study revealed that the verbal art performance of the holy Qur'an was carried out as an effort to do da’wahs and to teach Islamic values to the community at the beginning of Islamic preaching in Indonesia. This was so because not many Indonesians understood the meaning of the holy Qur'an. Hence, the value of the Qur'an would need to be translated into a language that was easily understood by the community; this might be in the form of poetry, encouragement, enlightenment, etc. One form of the verbal art performance of the holy Qur'an included the teaching of "molimo", lir-ilir, etc.

Abstract

The level of customer satisfaction in the world of education has long been a necessity. The difference between private and public schools is no longer significant. Competition and competitive nature of private and public schools require new changes and conceptions where management of educational institutions is concerned. The implementation of a full-day-school system in Indonesia cannot be separated from the phenomena related to ‘superior schools’ back in the 1990s—many of which were pioneered by private schools, especially those that were motivated by implementing Islamic values. Such schools are usually referred to as schools that focus primarily on the quality of the teaching and learning processes rather than on the quality of students input. Today, full day school has become a trending topic or, in the language of information technology, viral in conjunction with the mandate from the Minister of Education and Culture no 23/2017 relating to School Days. Full day schools are increasingly popular and recognized by the wider community. This study employed a survey method involving a quantitative approach. Respondents were 69 students and 90 parents. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire consisting of 43 questions for students and 51 questions for parents. The findings of this study revealed that the level of student satisfaction for basic educational services provided by Integral Lukman Al-Hakim primary school Jember reached 99.9% with 52.17% were very satisfied and 47.82% were quite satisfied. Meanwhile, the level of satisfaction of parents reached 84.45%. with 16.67% were very satisfied and 67.78% were quite satisfied. The remaining 15.55%, however, were not satisfied. Finally, it is concluded that the level of customer satisfaction with regard to the educational services provided by Integral Lukman Al-Hakim primary school is high.

Abstract

Religious education plays an important role in carrying out development in particular in shaping and printing young people who are moral and quality. Religious education serves to make people who believe in obedience to the commands and prohibitions of their religion and apply to everyday life. But what happens in the world of education today does not say so, the classic problems that occur to date are still not resolved properly and continue to be a continuing problem. Such as the problem of using time allocation that is too narrow which is used in the learning process, namely the religious learning elementary school is only 3 hours face to face and junior high school, high school / vocational school is only 2 hours face to face and every hour is 45 minutes not 60 minutes, of course this is very poor considering the purpose religious education is so great for the development and development of the nation. Not to mention if in one school there are various religions. The development of religious education by applying school culture that applies the principles of development through learning activities, giving values and parameters for achieving this school can be an alternative solution regarding the existing problems.
