Abstract

Dichotomy in education merely aims at creating a system for compartmentalization or restrictions on practitioners in the world of education, differentiating between religious with general education, state-based with private-based schools, centralistic education and independent self-reliance in a policy, as well as in terms of facilities and resources, employment, and human resources. As a form of embodiment in fostering education for moral values and moral character, education on Islamic religion at school is crucial to form good personality of students who have a fundamental principle of carrying out the commands of Islamic law and avoiding being prohibited, and implementing the value of worship in daily activities vertical in nature with the creator and horizontal fellow humans with courtesy and ethics. The method in this paper is the result of a critical analysis of some phenomena in the world of education in Indonesia and took several references, articles, journals by concluding that there is a dichotomy between the majority of Islamic religious education and public education as the majority of people as steak holders. between these differences without them know about such issues. The author formulates with a title: Dichotomy in Islamic and General Education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Islam is considered as an early religious education because education for children is one of the main goals in the development of Islam. Family is the onset for children to grow and develop. The growth and development of children is characterized by maturity of organs from the age of the baby to adulthood. Meanwhile, family also constitutes an important part for children's education, especially in terms of character building and personality. Discussion about the development of children’s character and personality means we face a situation where culture and lifestyle of parents are highly influential in the process. The closest environment has the strongest influence in forming children's habits. The problems of this study were formulated as follows: 1. what is the role of the family in shaping children’s character? 2. What efforts does the family make in children’s character building? The purpose of this study is to describe the role and efforts of the family in shaping the character of children. The approach used was qualitative involving library research (literature). The results of the study showed that the role of the family in building children's character can be done through hearing, vision and the heart. While efforts that can be made by the family in shaping children’s character can be done through prompting aqeedah, teaching worship, raising social values, giving supervision and attention as well as maintaining physical and mental health.

Abstract

The implementation of a structured and programmed educational process in human life like a school is not only oriented to science, but also to the process of maintaining and enhancing moral quality. Therefore, it is important for every educational process at all levels to always consider and pay attention to the urgency of moral values that can be implemented in learning processes, especially in learning Islamic religious education. This research was conducted in a formal institution, namely SMPN 8 Pamekasan. In practice, researcher uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The methods used to obtain data are interviews, observation, and documentation. There are at least two things to be examined in this research. First, how is the implementation of moral values through an effective approach in Islamic Education (PAI) learning for ninth grade students at SMPN 8 Pamekasan? The second is what are the supporting and inhibiting factors? The results of this study indicate that first, in practice, the teacher uses modeling by making himself the main example. There are five moral values implemented, namely religious values, discipline values, honest values, responsibility values , and communicative values. Second, the supporting factors are the implementation of extracurricular activities in the form of recitations every week, the approach of guardians, counseling teachers, and also student assistants. While the inhibiting factors are social environmental factors, the minimum portion or time of Islamic Education (PAI) subject in schools, and the latest in the development of increasingly sophisticated technology

Abstract

Ability to manage and develop tertiary educational institution is important. TAbility to manage and develop tertiary educational institution is important. This may be done in line with the principles of modern management oriented to the quality. For the owners and managers of universities, the quality management system is essentially nucleated on continuous improvements to strengthen and develop the quality of graduates that can be absorbed by the agency and the labour market. As we know that the globalization era is the era of competition the quality or the quality of a product quality will be in demand by consumers, otherwise if the product is not quality it will be abandoned by consumers. Likewise College in the era of globalization must be based on quality, how the College in the activities of educational services and the development of human resources has advantages. Abstract

The concept of motivation Maslow's ideas "" self-actualization is the person's motivation to transform perception of self into reality ". Motivation is the most basic factor in educational institutions to mobilize human resources potential to grow enthusiasm in working with organizational objectives. The second factor is the leader as a leader able to mobilize human resources. Sensitivity of a leader is expected to understand the nature and human needs. Abstract

The pesantren (Islamic boarding school) links yellow treatises to necessities of life, including enriching insights and broadening students' understanding of authoritative sources of Islamic teachings (al-qur'an and al-hadith) grounded in the thought of Muslim scholars; madzhab founders whose intellectual and personal values are widely recognized. This research aims to examine "how can curriculum in pesantren nourish the sense of nationalism among santri (students in Islamic boarding school)?” through employing a qualitative approach involving observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models. It shows that yellow treatises are regarded as primary resources that give rise to intellectual reflections and scientific traditions as part of Indonesian Muslim identity. Typical knowledge leads to sensitivity of local culture: as a basis for the advancement of Indonesian Muslims prepared to adapt the advancement of science and technology in the future. Islamic boarding schools can nourish students' character, establish the sense of nationalism and promote of specific skills.

Abstract

This literature review aims at exploring both manhaj tarjih and tajdid in Muhammadiyah tradition as a basis for developing reasonings. Islamic study within Muhammadiyah tradition is not only intended for use in studying religious beliefs, but also as a process for understanding Islam more comprehensively, so that it can optimize the value of Islam as ‘rahmatan lil alamin’ not only at the conceptual level but also, more importantly, at the practical level in line with the philosophy of baldatun toyyibatun wa rabbun ghofur. The basis for developing thoughts in Muhammadiyah is predicated upon 16 main points, the rules of  tarjih based on ijma', qiyas, maslahah mursalah and al-urf, while the tarjih method covers bayani, burhani and istislahi such as pertaining to reasoning for using bayani, burhani and irfani.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools as an Islamic educational institution dated back from the history of Islamic ideology, especially in Indonesia, and cannot be separated from specific type of leadership called Kyai. Kyai is usually considered as a source of absolute power and authority in the life and environment of pesantren (i.e., Islamic boarding schools). So all policies both from the purpose up to implementation come from one authority. Kyai controls all sectors of Islamic boarding school. This fact normally leads to the formation of absolute authority by Kyai. Tahfidzul Qur'an Al-Fanani Islamic Boarding School, based on the results of a preliminary study, provides a different portrait in comparison with other Islamic boarding schools. Tahfidzul Qur'an Al-Fanani Islamic Boarding School, which was founded by Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember, becomes an interesting phenomenon to study. The questions of this study were formulated as follows: 1. What form of authority is applied in the Tahfidzul Qur'an Al-Fanani boarding school? 2. What factors support and inhibit leadership in Tahfidzul Qur'an Al-Fanani Islamic boarding school? 3. How does leadership authority affect the existence of ‘santri’ in the Tahfidzul Qur'an Al-Fanani boarding school? This study aimed to find a comprehensive picture of the leadership model in Al-Fanani boarding school. This study employed a qualitative approach involving interviews and documentation. Data analysis technique was triangulation. The findings show that, first, the form of authority is traditional. Second, the supporting factor is rote learning becomes the authority of each teacher (ustadz), not the leader. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor lies in the difference between the status of ‘santri’ from ordinary students. Finally, third, Kyai affected the number of santri, which does not increase every year.

Abstract

In the philosophy of Islamic education, students act as one of the determinants of concepts or theories in Islamic education. This is caused by the role of students who jump into the community in order to practice the knowledge that has been obtained from pesantren, or what is often referred to as devotion. So that students also know a lot of things that are lacking in the midst of social life, and students are required to correct the shortcomings of the community. Abstract

This study aims to analyze: (1) the implementation of Tarikh (history) learning based on local wisdom, (2) the supporting and inhibiting factors of Tarikh learning based on local wisdom in Class IX at SMP (Junior High School) Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta The type of this research approach is a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were the activities of teachers and students during the Tarikh learning process. The object of this research was local wisdom in Tarikh learning method in Class IX at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Data were obtained through observation of learning activities, interviews, field notes, and documentation in the form of pictures of learning activities. Data analysis techniques included the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The validity of the data was obtained through triangulation. The results of this study indicate things as follows: (1) the implementation of Tarikh learning in Class IX at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta is in accordance with the local wisdom of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, (2) the supporting factors for the implementation of Tarikh learning based on local wisdom in Class IX at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta are adequate learning facility and students’ awareness of the importance of preserving history and culture, while the inhibiting factors for implementing Tarikh learning based on local wisdom in Class IX at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta are classroom atmosphere, the number of subject matter, and the lack of student motivation.
