Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical concepts applied to Javanese gamelan musical instruments. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach, namely describing Javanese gamelan musical instruments as a medium for learning Mathematics. Data obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The instrument in this study consisted of the main instrument, namely the researcher himself and auxiliary instruments in the form of interview guidelines, observation sheets, and documentation tools. The data validity technique used is method triangulation and source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that there are mathematical concepts that are applied to Javanese gamelan musical instruments such as one-dimensional geometry, namely the concept of lines, parallel lines and right angles, two-dimensional geometry, namely square, rectangle, circle, trapezoid, and triangle. three in the form of a tube, a sphere, and a truncated cone. With the existence of mathematical concepts in Javanese gamelan musical instruments, it is very possible for mathematics learning media to be designed using Javanese gamelan ethnomathematics so that mathematics contributes to the preservation of the nation's culture.

Abstract

One method of predicting stock prices is to use the time series analysis method. In this method, a linear prediction model is made to see patterns from historical stock price data to assess future prices. The stock data used in this study is the daily stock data of PT. Telkom and PT. Indosat in 2020-2021. Autoregressive (AR) model is a time series model that is often used with the assumption that its volatility does not change with time (Homoscedastic). After analyzing the AR Model(1) data for the stock data of PT. Telkom and PT. Indosat has a non-independent error, therefore the AR(1)-N.GARCH(1,1) time series model construction was carried out to model the error (ϵ_(i,t)). Furthermore, the error of the AR(1)-N.GARCH(1,1) model is independent of t, so it can be modeled using Copula. After the Copula model was applied to the data and obtained the value of the fit of the Gaussian Copula distribution error model. From the values generated from the Gaussian Copula C({ϵ_(i,t) }_(t=1)^T ),T=1,2,…, and approximates a uniform distribution. So the stock data of PT. Telkom and PT. It can be said that Indosat is not suitable to be modeled with the Gaussian Copula.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the critical thingking skills of grade VIII students of MTs. Batusitanduk before and after the aplication of the Rotating Trio Exchange learning model were effective against the critical thinking skills of class VIII students of MTs. Batusitanduk. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design that uses a one-group pre-test post-test design. The population in this study were students of class VIII MTs. Batusitanduk and the sample was class VIII.A which was taken from one class of four existing classes and totaled 34 students. The data collection instruments in this study were tests, observations, and documentation. The results showed students' critical thinking ability before applied RTE by 20.76 belongs to the category of low critical thinking ability, increased after applied RTE by 70.59 belongs to the category of high critical thinking ability, and hypothetical test results (t-test) obtained gis scores. (2-tailed) 0.000<0.05 then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted meaning there is an average difference in critical thinking ability between pretest and posttest students. So, RTE learning model is effective against the critical thinking ability of grade VIII.A MTs.Batusitanduk students.

Abstract

The price of gold and the inflation rate are some of the right indicators to analyze the development of sharia rahn mortgage financing distribution. This study aims to determine the amount of rahn financing distribution based on the average gold price of pawnshops and Indonesia's inflation rate in 2018-2019. In this study, Sugeno's fuzzy inference system (FIS) method was used to determine the amount of Rahn's financing distribution. The steps used in the FIS Sugeno method are the formation of fuzzy sets, application of implication and affirmation functions (defuzzification). Based on the FIS Sugeno method, the results of the calculation of the total distribution of rahn financing of PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Branch Syariah Subrantas Pekanbaru in January 2018 was obtained at 252.642.105 with an accuracy value of 89.44%.

Abstract

The Ministry of Education and Culture (2016) states that one of the learning objectives in the 2013 curriculum is to develop creative activities that involve imagination, intuition, and discovery by developing divergent, original thinking, curiosity, making predictions and guesses, and experimenting. The fact that the creative thinking ability of Indonesian students is still low is shown in the results of the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) in mathematical ability, placing Indonesia at 62 out of 70 countries (OECD, 2016). The provision of problem-posing model questions is expected to stimulate students to think creatively by generating new ideas or ideas to develop existing information and finally students begin to propose new problems according to their understanding of the mathematical concepts being studied. The purpose of this study was to describe students' mathematical creative thinking ability seen from the indicators of creative thinking abilities, namely fluency, flexibility and novelty in solving problem posing question. The research method used is a survey method with the research subject being class VIIIG SMPN 1 Malang. The results obtained, the average score of the fluency indicator is 14.81 or 87.10% in the high category, the average score of the flexibility indicator is 4.64 or 51.61% in the low category, and the novelty indicator is 1.16 or 6, 45% with low category. This shows that the creative thinking ability of students in solving problem-posing questions is low.

Abstract

This study was conducted due to the lack of audi visual learning aids in developing students’ understanding on two-variable linear equation. The aim of this study is to describe the practicality of developed medium, specially, video of simulation for learning mathematics in TAV students of X grade of SMK 5 Padang concerning two-variable linear equation. This developing study uses procedural development in accordance to Alessi and Trollip (2001), consisting of 3 steps; planning; design; and development. Practicality data of product gained through development phase by scoring teacher responded questionnaire and student responded questionnaire. The result of product testing shows that video of simulation is pratical to be used in learning mathematics.

Abstract

This research discusses the mathematical of Tuberculosis disease with reinfection, where there are individuals who are reinfected after undergoing treatment and are declared recover. The mathematical model used is the SEIRE model which is then searched for the equilibrium point, the basic reproduction number ( ), the stability of the equilibrium point and searched the parameter that most influences the increase in the basic reproduction number so that it is emphasized to reduce the transmission of Tuberculosis. The results showed that the SEIRE model is a mathematical model have two equilibrium points (desease free equilibrium and desease endemic equilibrium where both equilibrium poits  are locallyn stable in a constant population based on the value of each parameter used. In the SEIRE model, there are four parameters that affect the basic reproduction number, so that must be suppressed to reduce their transmission. The four parameters are transmission rate ( ),  infection rate ( ), infection rate ( ), and reinfection rate ( ).

Abstract

In this paper the number of  humans infected with cholera was controlled under the uncertainty in cholera model parameters. The aim of this research is to design an adaptive control so that the number of infected humans decreases. To achieve this goal, an adaptive controller was proposed to a deterministic model for the transmission of cholera involving five state variables (susceptible humans, infected humans, quarantined humans, recovered humans, and bacterial concentration) and one input control variable, i.e, the proportion of quarantined humans. A control law was designed such that the number of infected humans was decreased tracking the given reference function. The tracking error convergence were analyzed by employing the  Lyapunov theorem. The performance of the proposed controller was evaluated through numerical simulations. The results show that the adaptive controller designed to the model ensures the tracking error convergence such that the number of infected humans has declined.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the distribution of the cognitive levels on problem questions and competency test questions of statistics chapter in the mathematics textbook of Senior High School for 12th grade published by the Ministry of Education and Culture revised edition of the 2018 based on the revised of Bloom’s taxonomy. The revised of Bloom’s Taxonomy used was the cognitive process dimension which consists of: remembering (C1), understanding (C2), applying (C3), analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). This type of research is descriptive research with the research method used is qualitative research. The data collection technique in this research is using the documentation technique. Sources of research data in this research were problem questions and competency test questions of statistics chapter in the mathematics textbook of 12th Grade revised edition of the 2018. The exercise questions and the competency test questions had 45 questions with the distribution of the cognitive levels are remembering (C1) has 2 questions (4,4%), understanding (C2) has 12 questions (26,7%), applying (C3) has 23 questions (51,1%), analyzing (C4) has 4 questions (8,9%), evaluating (C5) has 4 questions (8,9%), and creating (C6) has 1 question (2,2%). Thus, the distribution of cognitive levels of problem questions and competency tests on statistical material is not proportional.

Abstract

The mathematics problem solving ability has an important role in mathematics learning process.  One of factors influencing mathematics problem solving ability is learning independence.  This research aimed at analyzing student mathematics problem solving ability viewed from learning independence that was focused on linear equation system two variables material.  The methods of collecting the data were test for mathematics problem solving ability, questionnaire for students learning independence, and interview. The findings of this research showed that the student high learning independence category owned the lowest ability in crosscheck the solution.  The student medium learning independence category owned the lowest ability in preparing strategies and crosscheck.  The student low learning independence category owned the lowest ability in preparing strategies, carrying out the strategies and crosscheck.  The implication of this research was expected for teacher to accustom students to crosscheck every problem solving step given to SPLDV questions in learning process.  Teacher was expected to use an approach that is able to increase student learning independence.
