Abstract

This study investigated how STAD strategy could be implemented to enhance the students’ mathematics achievement on the concept of the shape of thecylinder curvature facefor the first semester students in grade IX,MTs. SA Miftahul Huda Mayangan, in the academic year 2014/2015. The research design adopted for this study is classroom action research (CAR)consisted two cycles. The data collection for this action research study took many forms; observation, interview, test, and documentation. The result of data analysis on cycle 1 showed that the students’ score after altering into percentage gained only 76%. It was very small percentage to fulfill the criterion of minimum completeness (KKM) 75%. Based on the result on the first cycle, it was necessary for the researcher to conduct the next cyclical procedure. In cycle 2,the percentage of the students’ score was significantly increased. It was derived 88%.Accordingly, it proved that the target of CAR success could finally be achieved. Therefore, the next action could be stopped.Keywords: STAD, area of shape, students’ achievement.

Abstract

It is generally difficult for students to understand the subject of managing petty cash fund, especially to understand the materials of bookkeeping patty cash fund. As a teacher, the writer has a very strong will to encourage students to get tremendous learning achievement, at least as the same score as the criterionof minimumcompleteness (KKM). This study is aimed at improving the students’ achievement in managing petty cash fund through the implementation of think, pair, and share strategy at grade XI office administration programs (AP2) of SMK Negeri 1 Lumajang. The findings show that the development of the students’ score has significantly increased, approximately 34,29%. On the basis of research findings, it can be concluded that think, pair, and share strategy can develop their skills in managing petty cash fund.Keywords: petty cash fund, think pair and share strategy, students’ achievement.

Abstract

Curriculum 2004 highly requires the students to have critical thinking skills. At this juncture, learning strategies in improving students’ creative thinking skills arevery important. Therefore, this study needs to produce an innovative learning strategy through the implementation of cooperative learning in developing students’ creative thinking skills. In this study, the researcher employed classroom action research (CAR) as the research design in which the researcher carries out the cyclical procedure of the study: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting on the action. This cyclical procedure is implemented on the subject of how to operate communication equipment. This study, which took three cycles, was conducted in class XII PMS 2 in SMKN Lumajang. The findings of this study revealed that cooperative learning strategy can improve the students’ creative thinking skills as their final score on the third cycle exceeded the criteria of minimum completeness (KKM). With the lowest score of 80 and the highest one of 100, the students were regarded to have “good” creative thinking skills. In reference to the result of the study, therefore, it can be concluded that through the implementation of cooperative learning, the students can improve their creative thinking skills shown by their achievement score which have significantly increased.Keywords: Cooperative, creative thinking.

Abstract

This study is aimed at investigating the increased activity and achievement of the students of SMPN 2 Mayang in the academic year 2013/2014 through the implementation numbered heads together (NHT) strategy. The research design employed in this study was classroom action research (CAR) that consists of cyclical procedures. The research findings show that the percentage of students’ learning activity in cycle 1 reached 90,7% and 92,2% in cycle 2. Whereas, the results of the average score of students daily test in cycle 1 was 81,78 and 83,06 in the cycle 2. In reference to the research findings previously described, it completely proved that the students’ activity and their achievement could be improved through the implementation of numbered heads together (NHT) strategy.Keywords: Cooperative learning, NHT, students’academic achievement.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to develop an innovative instructional strategy through the implementation of collaborative learning to develop the students’ understanding and learning motivationon the subject of the installation of basic operating system (SOD). In this study, the researcher employed classroom action research (CAR) as the research design in which the researcher carries out the cyclical procedure of the study: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting on the action.This study was carried out in three cycles. The subject of this study is the students of class X TKJ 1, SMK Negeri 1 Lumajang, in the academic year 2013/2014. Test and observation used as the data collection methods in this study. On the basis of research findings, it can be concluded that collaborative learning strategy could be able to improve the students’ activity in the productive subject of TKJ. In addition, the study could be able to improve the students’ academic achievement.Keywords: Collaborative learning, academic achievement.

Abstract

Achievement of memory can be owned if we had a concern in doing certain strategy and special effort. There are  some ways to improve it. 1). Create the relationships logically and systematically. 2). A story can be a way to memorize. 3).  ‘sleeping’ is a way to record the things we have learned 4). Associate something by the unusual thing 5). Use the real things  to memorize abstract ideas 6). Designing tools by ourself is  approach of memorizing . 7). Track back all the things that precede and accompany a forgotten incident 8). We need to have break for 2 to 5 minutes when we are studying in every 30 minutes 9). Repetition is an essential step in creating long-term memory. 10). Create a multy sensory memory by joining what we see, say and do. 11). Memorize the things by the acronym of the first letter of a word, phrase or sentence.Keyword : Memory

Abstract

The objective of this study is to develop how the implementation of cooperative learning of STAD model can be used to improve the students’ understanding on the concept of the integer operation at class X MM 1 SMKN 1 Lumajang. The subject of this study is the tenth graders of MM 1 SMKN 1 Lumajang. In this study, the writer employed classroom action research as the research designin which the researcher carries out the cyclical procedure of the study: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting on the action. This study was conducted in two cycles. The results shows that the students activity in cycle 1 get the score of 42,67 out of 44. It is therefore that it was categorized as “very good” score. In cycle 2, the students scored full marks, 44. In reference to the research findings, it can be concluded that cooperative learning of STAD model can help to deepen the students’ understanding on the concept of the integer operation at class X MM 1 SMKN 1 Lumajang.Keywords: STAD, cooperative learning,

Abstract

REACT is one of strategies applied in math learning, especially on BRSL material. This strategy is expected to enable students to learn and improve their learning achievement. Qualitative research design and classroom action research design were conducted in this research. The findings of this study revealed that the students’ activities while they are in the phase of experiencing are extremely dominant. They were very enthusiastic when they were asked to explore the concept of BRSL through the implementation of REACT strategy.Meanwhile,they did not get actively involved in an intense activity in the phase of transferring. In reference to the research findings, it can be concluded that REACT strategy can evolve response and activities of the ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Yosowilangun.Keywords: REACT, BRSL.

Abstract

The goal of research are: (1) To determine the effect of the use of the concept of the approach through the method of direct instruction to students' cognitive abilities and Mathematics (2) Looking for an alternative solution for effective learning. This research is using a class action research using three cycles. Each cycle consists of four phases: planing, action and observation, reflection, and revision. The subject of this research is a Class XI student of PMS 1 SMK Lumajang in 2012/2013. Data obtained in the form of a test results, observation sheet teaching and learning activities. Based on the analysis of the results of research and discussion can be drawn a conclusion that the Direct Instruction Lesson increase student performance that can be shown with the performance appraisal. Student achievement can be increased in Learning Direct Instruction. Increased learning achievement indicated by the results of student learning and the average value of the class.Keywords: Direct Instruction, academic achievement and student activity.

Abstract

This study employed guidance and counseling action research (PTBK) that involved repeated cycles consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting as proposed by Kemmis, S. and McTaggert, R. (1988). This study was aimed at investigating whether or not the group guidance and counseling is effective to develop the students’ motivation at class XI IPS 1, SMA Negeri 3 Jember. On the basis of research findings, this strategy could highly motivate the students of class XI IPS 1, SMA Negeri 3 Jember, to learn. Based on the research findings, it is highly suggested that the guidance and counseling (BK) teacher who have similar problems implement this strategy as one of alternatives to motivate their students.Keywords: Students’ motivation, group guidance and counseling.
