Abstract

            The purpose of the research is to describe the reasoning of the introvert students in junior high school in solving mathematical problems. The type of the research is descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were the seventh grade students in junior high school having an introvert personality. The subjects were given the task of solving the problem to know Math reasoning in solving Mathematical problems. The data collection methods used were questionnaire, interview, and test.  The writer then used triangulation to minimize the writer’s subjectivity. The findings indicated that the mathematical reasoning of introvert subject in solving mathematical problems, including the process of gathering the facts related to the problem and then do the analysis, then make a conjecture and submitted arguments to reinforce the conjecture that had been filled and for which the latter is to draw conclusions and validate the conclusions that had been made. The accuracy of the subjects in terms of doing their tasks makes them to re-check the calculations they made. It is therefore, that they did not make a mistake in calculating. Then expertise in writing makes the subject gave a very long answer, full, and clear.Key Words : reasoning, problem solving, and introvert personality

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) improve the students’ critical thinking skills through the implementation of problem solving learning methods using media information, and (2) prove the improvement of the students’ critical thinking skills after the implementation of problem solving learning methods using media information. The research design used in this study was a classroom action research that has been completed in two cycles. The type of action taken is learning Productive Marketing with media-assisted method of problem solving information. The findings show that there is an improvement on the students’ critical thinking skills. The lowest improvement is in the aspect Defining Problems; whereas, the highest improvement is in the aspect of Look and Learn. In the first cycle, the learning outcomes of students showed a maximum value of 95, the average score = 75.4 and a minimum score = 55. In the second cycle the resulted score showed a maximum score was 100, the average value of 80.4 and a minimum value of 70. In the first cycle there are 30 learners who get 73% of the criterion of minimum completeness; whereas, in the second cycle 100%. Thus the problem solving method using information media can be very effective to improve the students’ critical thinking skills at class X Productive Marketing KU 3, SMK 1 Lumajang.Keywords: methods of problem solving, critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Based on the analysis of problems in SMK 1 Lumajang , researchers acknowledged that it was necessary to make an innovations in Teaching-learning physics. By giving the task before learning materials Newton's Law was expected to increase students’ motivation and their learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was (1) to investigate the ability of vocational high school students by giving the task before the learning process on Newton's Law matter, (2) to know the attitude of vocational high school students by giving the task before the learning process on Newton's Laws material and determine the skills of vocational students by giving the task before the learning process on Newton's Laws material.This study was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Lumajang . The subjects were the 38 students of class X TKI 4. This research was conducted in the 1st  half of the school year 2014-2015 . This research was a classroom action research that consisted repeated cycle; planning, implementing, reflecting the collaborative action and participation.The findings showed good improvement, in the first cycle there were no students who could achieve an "A" and "A-", while in the second cycle there were 9 students who could get an “A-” and 1 student could get a perfect "A". The attitude of the students in the first cycle described that there were 2 students achieved “Less” score, 10 students achieved “Enough” score, 2 students were achived “Very Well” score, and the rest got “Good” score. Attitude in the second cycle was no less achievement, simply there were 4 students, while the Excellent students were 9, and the rest reach Good. Knowledge in Cycle I were 6 students that did not fulfill the criterion of minimum completeness (KKM) and there were only 5 students that met the criteria of "A". In Cycle II, all students had reached KKM. In addition, in Cycle II there were only 3 students who got a "B" and 3 students who got a "B +"; whereas, the others had reached the "A" and "A-".On the basis of research findings, three suggestions were offered. First, the knowledge of vocational high school students could improve by giving the task before learning Newton's laws of matter. Second, the attitude of vocational students could increase by giving the task before learning Newton's laws of matter. Third, the skills of vocational students could increase by giving the task before learning Newton's laws of matter.Keywords: Curriculum 2013, Skills, Knowledge, Attitude.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang peran strategis dari eksplisit morfologi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca bagi mahasiswa FKIP UIJ yang mengikuti ECT pada level beginner. Pengetahuan yang memadai akan formasi kata mempengaruhi kecepatan text reading comprehension. Analisis data yang diperoleh dari 50 partisipan mengungkapkan bahwa kesadaran morfologi dapat mempengaruhi reading comprehension. 50 Partisipan terdaftar pada program ECT kemudian dibagi menjadi kelompok control dan kelompok eksperimen.  Kedua kelompok tersebut menjalani pretest yang di dalamnya terdapat praktek eksplisit morfologi,  yang berfungsi untuk mengukur reading comprehension melalui menjawab soal dari text yang ada. Tahap berikutnya, melakukan treatment pada kedua kelompok selama 4 kali dalam pelatihan reading comprehension. Tahap terakhir yakni melakukan posttest sebagai lanjutan dari pretest pada kedua kelompok. Deviasi dari performa partisipan dihitung untuk mendapat mean of the scores. Hasil menujukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen mengalami kenaikan scores dari pretest ke posttest. Dari data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kesadaeran eksplisit morfologi efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan reading comprehension mahasiswa FKIP UIJ yang mengikuti ECT pada level beginner.Keywords : Morphology, Reading Comprehension, TOEFL Reading Section

Abstract

            In indonesia Berzanji or dibaan is an activity that has uniqueness in terms of reading and also has high values in each rhyme or nadhom. Cultural values includes the religious values of Iman, social values that built to strengthen the t6ies of Islamic brotherhood when read the book albarzanji or diba’, personality values that can be revealed from the understanding of the content of it that describes the prophet Muhammad as the exemplary figure that can be the role model of all his behavior, and the educational values for young generation they have to preserve from the culture of reading barzanji or dibaan. Those values are in accordance with national character of Indonesia, togetherness, having good moral and good personality and always preserve in keeping this great tradition from time to time.Keywords: albarzanji , reading , cultural values

Abstract

Peningkatan pembelajaran bahasa khusunya Bahasa Inggris  dan kebanyakan apa yang dirasakan oleh mahasiswa yaitu kebosanan dalam mempelajarinya itu semua karena mereka memikirkan Bahasa Inggris itu pelajaran sangat sulit dipahami terutama di dalam materi READING. Ini harus diselesaikan dengan satu cara yang inovatif dalam pengajaran materi READING. Di penelitian ini, penggunaan dari Teks Cerita Pendek sebagai bahan dalam pengajaran READING.Penelitian dilaksanakan untuk meneliti pengaruh Teks Cerita Pendek terhadap kemampuan Membaca Mahasiswa Bahasa Inggris semester Tiga di Universitas Islam Jember. Data responden dalam penelitian ini  adalah 30 Mahasiswa, 15 Mahasiswa kategori kelompok experimen; dan 15 mahasiswa sebagai kelompok pengontrol  yang kita ajarkan dengan ,menggunakan Teks Narative.Kata Kunci : Cerita Pendek lucu , Kemampuan Membaca.

Abstract

            Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguak nilai-nilai islami apa sajakah  yang ada dalam lirik “ Downfall : The Battle of Uhud”. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Peneliti menggunakan informasi tekstual yang ada lirik lagu “Downfall: The Battle of Uhud” sebagai sumber data yang akan di analisa. Koleksi data, pemberian kode pada nilai-nilai islami yang diambil dari kata atau frase yang ada pada lirik tersebut serta meninjau ulang data tersebut merupakan prosedur lanjutan sebagai dasar dari temuan dalam penelitian ini. Peneliti menggunakan content analysis untuk menganalisa data karena data yang dianalisa dalam bentuk dokumen. Hasilnya, ada beberapa nilai Islami yang bisa di gambarkan sebagai berikut: ketidakpatuhan akan membawa kesengsaraan, arogansi akan menjerumuskan manusia menjadi kufur, Iman yang teguh akan menghancurkan segala rintangan, dan menghindari sifat serakah. Berdasarkan temuan diatas, bias disimpulkan bahwa lirik dalam lagu ini menggambarkan banyak nilai Islami yang bias dijadikan acuan untuk melakukan kebajikan.Kata kunci: Nilai-nilai islami, Lirik Lagu.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating how the application of portfolio learning on student achievement in grade XI AP 1 SMK PGRI Lumajang on the subject of “Prakarya” and “Kewirausahaandan perusahaan dagang ”. The sample is the XI graders of SMK PGRI AP 1 Lumajang. The rtesearch design of this study was classroom action research (PTK). In the first cycle, the test results demonstrate knowledge minimum score of 1,4 and an average value of 2,74 of a maximum value of 3,8. Portfolio assessment results indicate a minimum value of 1,25 and an average value of 1,99 and a maximum value of 2,50. By observing learning completeness criteria of 2,67, the completeness of the knowledge value of 59%, but the value of nothing thorough skills. Results show the student's ability completeness 0%. In the second cycle, the knowledge test results showed the minimum value of 2,2 and an average value of 3,24 and a maximum value of a portfolio assessment 4. Results showed a minimum value of 2,50 and an average value of 3,01 and a maximum value of 3,75. By observing learning completeness criteria of 2,67, the completeness of the knowledge value of 97%, but the value of skill mastery by 90%. Results of the students there were thorough knowledge but skills are not complete, so the thoroughness of a total of 87%. This indicated that the cycle in this study can be stopped. It is therefore that it can be concluded that learning portfolio on the subject of “Prakarya” and “Kewirausahaandan perusahaan dagang” can be very practical and effective to improve the students’ achievement at Class XI AP 1 SMK PGRI Lumajang.Keywords : portfolio and learning achievement.

Abstract

            Makalah ini berisi tentang pengembangan instrument untuk mengukur daya matematis siswa SMP. Instrumen yang dibuat harus valid dan reliable agar dapat digunakan untuk mengukur daya matematis siswa. Langkah-langkah pengembangan instrument ini meliputi: 1) studi pustaka mengenai daya matematis siswa, 2) membuat kisi-kisi soal tes daya matematis, 3) menyusun butir soal, 4) melakukan validasi isi, 5) revisi berdasarkan validasi isi, 6) melakukan uji coba tes pada siswa SMP, 7) analisis hasil uji coba yang terdiri dari validitas butir soal, reliabilitas, tingkat kesulitan, dan daya pembeda soal. Setelah dianalisis maka diperoleh hasil instrument tes daya matematis yang valid dan reliable untuk dapat digunakan dalam mengukur kemampuan daya matematis siswa SMP.Kata Kunci : pengembangan, daya matematis, pembelajaran matematika
