Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are vital for a country's economy, fostering job creation and economic growth. This research focuses on MSME water distribution agents engaged in selling and distributing various brands and types of bottled drinking water. With a customer base exceeding a thousand and an average of 30 daily transactions, these agents encounter specific challenges in inventory and sales reporting. Presently, MSMEs rely on traditional methods, using books to record stock and sales reports, manually calculating transactions with calculators, and preparing handwritten paper invoices. These practices often result in writing errors, inaccuracies in product information, and pricing inconsistencies. Furthermore, the manual nature of these processes consumes significant time and effort on a daily basis. This study highlights the applicability of the Rapid Application Development (RAD) system design method in creating an efficient and time-sensitive solution. By leveraging RAD, the system design was swiftly accomplished with a limited team. The traceability matrix test validates the successful alignment of the designed information system with the needs of MSME agents in the drinking water distribution sector. The findings of this study provide compelling evidence that the RAD system design approach significantly enhances inventory and sales management practices for MSMEs involved in drinking water distribution. By implementing the developed information system, MSME agents can streamline their operations, eliminate manual errors, and improve overall efficiency, thereby fostering their growth and success in the market.

Abstract

The coffee shop business offers a diverse range of coffee and food options. However, customers often experience delays during transactions due to the extensive selection of menu items and combinations. This inconvenience not only discomforts new customers but also hampers their likelihood of returning, potentially impacting the overall business turnover. To address this issue, this study aims to establish association rules by combining the least and most popular menu items for the upcoming month. These rules will serve as a guideline for creating shopping packages that streamline the decision-making process. The FP-Growth algorithm is employed to analyze sales transaction data from January to March 2023, comprising 2,336 transactions in .csv format. Among the generated association rules, two rules stand out with the highest support and confidence values. The first rule exhibits a support value of 0.3% and a confidence of 70.0%, while the second rule showcases a support value of 0.4% and a confidence of 69.2%. By considering these two rules alongside the existing menu options, coffee shop owners can effectively curate shopping packages that cater to customer preferences. It is anticipated that these packages will elevate the quality of service, attract a greater number of customers, and subsequently enhance the overall business turnover.

Abstract

GoPrintBot is an innovative endeavor focused on creating an interactive e-commerce chatbot tailored specifically for online printing services. The primary objective is to enhance the customer experience by offering a seamless and efficient ordering process, eliminating the need for customers to navigate complex websites or wait for customer service representatives. This study addresses common issues encountered in traditional e-commerce platforms, including unintuitive navigation, ineffective search and filter systems, and slow response times for customer inquiries. The proposed solution involves developing a chatbot system that will revolutionize the online printing industry, significantly improving the customer experience and operational efficiency. The methodology employed encompasses comprehensive requirements gathering, followed by the design and development of the chatbot system using established System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. GoPrintBot serves as a prototype, showcasing the potential of chatbots to streamline the online printing process and provide personalized and efficient services. The findings of this study have significant implications for businesses that prioritize customer satisfaction and aim to optimize their online printing services.

Abstract

Agriculture plays a crucial role in Nigeria's economy, serving as a vital source of sustenance and livelihood for numerous Nigerians. With the escalating impact of climate change on crop yields, it becomes imperative to develop models that can effectively study and predict rice output under varying climatic conditions. This study collected rice yield data from Katsina state, spanning the years 1970 to 2017, sourced from the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics. Additionally, climatic data for the same period were obtained from the World Bank Climate Knowledge portal. Logistic Regression (LR), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Random Forest (RF), Random Trees (RT), and Naïve Bayes (NB) were employed to develop rice yield prediction models utilizing this dataset. The findings reveal that random forest and random trees exhibited superior classification performance for yield prediction. The developed models offer a promising tool for predicting future rice yields, facilitating proactive measures to ensure food security for the people of the state.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health hold significant importance for both agencies and individuals alike. A crucial aspect of assessing driver readiness involves examining their physical well-being. Truck drivers who possess unhealthy physical conditions face a four-fold higher risk of work accidents compared to those with sound physical health. PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), being a manufacturing company, must prioritize occupational safety and health, particularly within the logistics domain. Presently, some logistics partners collaborating with TMMIN adhere to their own standards when conducting checks, relying on paper records for documenting the results. Unfortunately, this approach hinders proper archiving of inspection records and fails to establish a direct link with logistics partner customers in cases involving drivers with health issues. Hence, PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia is dedicated to enhancing the quality of driver health checks through logistics partners by implementing an integrated recording system called the Logistics Driver Tenko System Application (ORIENT). The development of ORIENT is based on the Scrum framework. This research aims to offer insights into the direct implementation of the Scrum method in project development.
