Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out about the learning interests of junior high school students in learning social arithmetic after learning using liveworksheets. In this study using a qualitative descriptive research method, the research subjects were 7th grade junior high school students at SMPN 14 Cimahi. The sample used in this study was 30 students. The research instrument used was an interest in learning mathematics scale questionnaire referring to 4 indicators containing 20 statements according to the indicators of interest in learning with a large number of statements totaling 12 positive statements and 8 negative statements. The implementation of distributing questionnaires is a data collection techniques in this study. Data processing techniques with reference to the results of student answers are described using the criteria for the percentage of interest in learning. The indicators of interest in learning are as follows (1) feeling happy, (2) student interest, (3) student engagement, and (4) indicate attention while studying. The findings obtained from analyzing this study indicate that the average student interest in learning is 80,5% with very good criteria, so the use of liveworksheets is proven to be very helpful for students in building their interest in learning in social arithmetic learning.

Abstract

Students' difficulty in communicating a problem into a mathematical model is one of the important things that must be corrected. This research was carried out based on the results of a preliminary study which showed that students' mathematical communication skills in statistics material were stull low. This study aims to determine students' difficulties in solving application problems. The research method used in this research is qualitative. This research was conducted in an elementary school in West Bandung Regency with 32 V class students as subjects. The instruments used in this study were a descprition test consisting of four questions and interviews. The indicators of mathematical communication used are : (1) Expressing everyday events in symbols or mathematical language, (2) Explain ideas, situations, and mathematical relations with real objects, pictures, graphs, and algebra, (3) Expressing images in the form of ordinary language, (4) Read with comprehension a written mathematical presentation The results of the study show that students still have difficulty communicating the given application problems, especially in making diagrams. Students feel confused in communicating from ordinary forms into diagrammatic forms. Students are confused in determining the value and frequency in the form of a diagram. students also have difficulty reading diagrams and changing the results of the diagrams into ordinary language.

Abstract

Mathematics is a lesson regarded regularly, logically, tiered from the easiest to the most complicated. Mastery and students' understanding of a material can be seen from student mathematical abilities. Analyze the student's error in completing the problem can know the students master a matter or not. This research has a goal to describe and analyze the student's error in completing the line of the linear equation system of three variables. The type of research using descriptive qualitative with the subject of research is a student of X SMAN 1 Pangalengan class. The sample for obtaining data is 6 students who represent high-level, high and low students who are classified from the average results of the test of the linear equivalent system of three variables. The data to be generated are the result of a description test. From the data can be generated by student difficulty analysis in completing the line of the linear equation system of three variables. The slaughter faced by students in the form of errors on conceptual, proseudral and technical. Meanwhile, the lack of understanding the concept of linear equation systems of three variables makes the error of the misman that occur going so that the factors cause the difficulty in the material.

Abstract

Research purposes was  to develop digital Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach on trigonometry material using Desmos and to find out the feasibility analysis this worksheets. The research method uses Analysis Design Development Implementation Evaluation (ADDIE). In the analysis stage, literature studies, observations and interviews were carried out to find out  difficulties during blended learning, followed by designing and developing media by utilizing the various features  in Desmos. At the implementation stage,  validation is carried out to test the feasibility of the e-LKPD  by two experts on media and materials. The results of the expert validation on the feasibility of the e-LKPD on the media aspect obtained a value of 73,14% with the appropriate criteria, while the material aspect obtained a value of 75,00% with the appropriate criteria. The most prominent of this e-LKPD is animation which shows the interactiveness and able to spur students  to discover and generalize the concept of the graph of the sine function of the unit circle. In the final stage a limited test was conducted in a small group of six students at SMAN 1 Lembang and get a response score of 76,74% was obtained with very good criteria.

Abstract

Students' mathematical problem solving ability is very influential on learning outcomes that can be implemented in everyday life. However, the facts in the field show that students' mathematical problem solving skills are still low. The purpose of this research is to analyze student difficulties in set material in terms of problem solving theory according to Polya's model. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data obtained through a test instrument of mathematical problem solving ability on set material with the applied subjects, namely 32 seventh grade students from one of the State Junior High Schools in Cipeundeuy District. Based on the results obtained, the students' ability to solve math problems based on polya steps is high. However, there were still some errors in the results of student answers in solving problem solving questions, including: not writing down what was known, what was asked, and not describing these elements, the process of planning problem solving was not systematic, not understanding the problem, errors in internal calculation of answers and conclusions which are not in accordance with the results of the solution.

Abstract

Mathematics learning has a very important role in the educational environment. That one of the competency standards for graduates of the mathematics subject for elementary to secondary education units is so that students have the skills to think and act creatively, productively, critically, independently, collaboratively and communicatively. Based on these graduate competencies, it is clear that one of the thinking skills that students must have is critical thinking. The purpose of this study was to look at students' mathematical critical thinking skills whose learning used the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model through digital teaching materials . This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 (five) stages, namely: Analysis , Design , and Development , Implementation and Evaluation on MTs . The research subjects were 20 students of class VI I I MTS (twenty) students. Data collection techniques used were walkthroughs, questionnaires, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. Research data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of data analysis are known that this research produces students' critical thinking mathematics for digital teaching materials through a problem-based learning model in a flat sided geometric content that is valid and has potential effects. In this case, mathematics teaching materials that are presented digitally with a problem-based learning approach model are obtained from the results of one-to-one revisions , expert revision, small group trials and large group trials . Furthermore, the prototype of digital teaching materials is in the form of Google sites This is in addition to being effective, efficient, valid and practical, it also has a potential effect to improve students' critical thinking skills in mathematics.
