Abstract

The political responsibility is important, not because of the need for the love of the homeland and the challenge of the disintegration of the nation in multicultural sphere, but must be born of deep Christian faith. This paper specifically addresses to the lay apostolate in socio-politics-society. The Catholic laity was also called to be salt and light in the political world. The emergence of some form of practical theology (such as liberation theology and political theology) affirms that concern. The theme of the laity will be juxtaposed with a review of the "political attitude" voiced by the prophets in Scripture. The hope is that the laity will become more aware of its social-political calling as part of the faithful life to sound prophetic voice in the world. The struggle of the Church into a prophetic power largely depends on the laity (and of course in good cooperation with the priests). The laity today are called to be new prophets to proclaim the truth without becoming part of the defilement itself

Abstract

Preparing Multicultural Homily based on Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel), Pope Francis, Apostolic Exhortation on Proclamation of the Gospel in Today’s World, we could start by understanding the meaning of ‘Multicultural Homily’; preaching as a sacred dance between culture, language and meaning; facing the beauty of Homily and learning how to tell the story in homily. The power of storytelling enriched the Multicultural Homily. Pope Francis noted: On the lips of the catechist the first proclamation must ring out over and over: “Jesus Christ loves you; he gave his life to save you; and he is living at your side every day to enlighten, strengthen and free you.” (EG, no 164). Pope Francis invite us in Evangelii Gaudium “to enrich our preaching and make it more attractive” by: (1) To learn how to use images in preaching, how to appeal to imagery. (2) Use the language simplicity, clearly, directly and well-adapted. (3) The Homily is positive.

Religious education teaching at Catholic Elementary School aimed to enable each student to build a more faithful Christian life. To build a faithful Christian life means to strengthen Christian faith and to integrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ in daily life of Christian faithful. Students just sit, listen, record and memorize whatever taught by teacher. As an effort to improve active involvement of students in teaching and learning process, the researcher feels need to apply a Learning Group Discussion Method using audiovisual learning process while teaching the subjects related to Jesus Christ and his incarnation, especially about the "Death and the Resurection of Jesus Christ. This Research Method is a Classroom Action Research. The term classroom action research is used to emphasize the class as a main setting of study. Classroom action research emphasizes on teacher's skills and techniques as to gain a more qualified information both to improve of learning process and student learning outcomes.
