Abstract

Management of housing and slum settlements is carried out in various forms of service and facilitation as follows: (1) fulfillment of decent and affordable housing needs through housing loans / subsidized housing loans and self-help housing development; (2) improving the quality of the settlement environment through the assistance of basic housing infrastructure and facilities, providing clean water facilities in water-prone settlements, structuring and rehabilitating slum settlements, empowering communities in the framework of strengthening economic capacity and improving social life; (3) institutionalizing a system for implementing housing and settlement development by involving the community as the main actor. Given the limited capacity of the government through the APBN and APBD in handling housing and slum settlements, the government took the decision to carry out handling of housing and slum settlements through the City Without Slum Program (KOTAKU). The implementation of the Tridaya approach in the KOTAKU program city of Semarang includes: (1) empowering local governments and communities through capacity building in the form of training and mentoring; (2) utilization of environmental facilities by improving the quality of the settlement environment through the procurement and repair of primary basic infrastructure and facilities as well as repair of unsuitable houses; and (3) community economic empowerment which is carried out through channeling with other programs in the field of Public Works and various activities carried out in the regions. To get a comprehensive picture of the program, researchers need to evaluate the policies of the Semarang City KOTAKU (City Without Slums) program in 2019.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the demographic variables that affect the probability (chance) of divorce for women on the island of Sumatra. This research is a quantitative analysis, using secondary data from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) with logistic regression analysis method. The results showed that three variables that significantly influence the high and low chance of divorce for women are wife's education, number of children and wife's occupation. The wife's education has a significant effect on the chance of a woman's divorce, with the wife's education coefficient is positive, which means that the lower the wife's education, the higher the chance for a wife to be divorced. The coefficient value of the number of children is positive, which means that the fewer children (</= 2 children), the higher the chances of women experiencing divorce. The wife's occupation variable shows a negative coefficient, which means that a wife who works as an informal worker has a lower chance of experiencing divorce than a wife who works as a formal worker. Meanwhile, the age at first marriage variable does not significantly affect the chances of a woman's divorce.

Abstract

It has become a common understanding that the phenomenon known as globalization very quickly takes over almost all aspects of human life in different parts of the world. The majority of people have realized that they are being affected by globalization so that they are usually more readily and easily adapt to a new community called global village. However, many people are still experiencing cultural shock and lack of self-confident when meeting with people from other external environments. This latter type is usually coming from isolated areas, both physically and mentally. This study aims to explore the questions raised in the community about the effects of globalization and their relationship with the social bonds between indigenous Papuan and migrants outside of Papua. In addition, this study tries to answer the scale of acceptance of indigenous Papuans on the influence of external culture. This research is expected to provide benefits to policy makers in designing social engineering in order to avoid potential open conflicts in the future. This research method was descriptive qualitative. Data was generated from research directly on the ground through in-depth interviews (IDI) and focus group discussions (FGD). This research was conducted in the city of Jayapura. The conclusion of this study consisted of 6 measured categories, namely food / cuisine, style, social lifestyle, language, music and inter-racial marriage, which showed that the exposure to cultural globalization had a positive contribution to the social relations of indigenous Papuans with immigrants.
