Abstract

In many cases we still can find a close access system in library service in the open access information era. This system is very fragile to meet the library user’s need of information like fast, correctly, and easy to be accessed. How the close access system of library can fulfill the need of library user? By using the methode of literature study, the close access system of library has been analized based of the component of information system which are collections, the arrangement of the collections, information retrieval tools, and library user.

Abstract

The important role of the library is demanded to support the accreditation and basic needs of the university. In addition, technological developments change people's behavior in searching and utilizing information. Many communities have been overcome by developing university libraries that are oriented to the academic community and the development of information technology. The steps are performed with (a). Determine the direction of development, (b). Standardization of resources, (c).Development of information systems, and (d).evaluation. The effort is a strong foundation of the foundation of the library to the international library that melanasi strengthening of the foundation of universities based on information technology.

Abstract

In order to realize the task, principal and function and vision of the University's mission, one of the main supporters is the existence of a credible library. Librarians who are in the library of the University should have thoughts, insights, understand the vision and mission goals and objectives of the University. The role of libraries will be more strategic, can achieve goals and more easily developed when 5 (five) basic principles of library law carried out in an orderly manner, namely; Book are for use; Every reader his / her book, Every book readers, Save the time of the readers; Library its growing organism. In order for the existence of the library can be utilized optimally, the librarian should also be provided either soft skill or hard skills

Abstract

In order to formulate the vision, mission and objectives of repository development, the university's repository development team should comprehensively comprehend, among others: [1] the sense of institutional repository; [2] types of repositories other than institutional repository and their respective characteristics; [3] the relationship between scholarly communication, open access, and the idea of institutional repository development. The development of a repository is a new challenge and a very important role for college libraries. This role has been largely done by university libraries in developed countries. To embody this new role, the college library must provide some knowledge and technical skills related.

Abstract

The Academic Library has a very important role in the learning process. The Academic library becomes the center of learning resources as well as the information center. In performing its duties college libraries not only provide learning resources, but also have to empower users through user education. With user education, it is expected that users are able to use various facilities owned by the library and have various skills in identifying, locating, searching, and utilizing information to disseminate information. User education should be structured based on needs analysis so as to meet the skills and information needs required by the user.
