Abstract

Stunting is a serious problem currently faced by Indonesia. About 20 out of 100 children under five years old suffer from stunting. The stunting condition is so severe that it has even occurred since the beginning of life, when a new child is born, characterized by a height and birth weight below the recommended minimum size. The church is an organic entity that should not only convey the truth of God's word, but also provide solutions to the problem of stunting. Jesus' command to the disciples in Mark 6:35-44 to feed the people is the basis for the discussion of this paper, which will open the paradigm of the church's involvement in handling stunting in the future. There are many things that the church can do, directly or indirectly, for pregnant women and mothers of under five children.

Abstract

This article seeks to understand the relationship between the Word and the Holy Communion in Sunday Worship. First, this article will do a historical study from the early church era to the Middle Ages. Furthermore, there will be a particular study on the order of Sunday Worship written by Martin Luther, the Formula Missae et Communiones and the Deustsche Messe. Furthermore, this article will look at the theological relationship between the Word and the Holy Communion at Sunday Worship, especially from the Luther and Lutheran perspective. As an implication, this article will elaborate on HKBP Sunday Worship in conjunction with the Lutheran liturgy and the Prussian Agenda.

Abstract

The behavior of God's people in interpreting words often results in misinterpretation, so that this causes mistakes in interpreting certain words in the Bible. However, this is only a misunderstanding, because the Bible is never wrong, but human thinking does not reach the contents of the Bible. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding so that readers can understand the meaning of words like "man" in Book 1 Kings 2:2, so as not to misinterpret these words. This study uses qualitative methods, namely interviews and literature. The informants in this interview were: 1. Erika Dame Simorangkir 2. Sondang Lubis 3. Bintahan Harianja, M.Th. 4. Bill Dubois 5. Tiorinta Siboro. Thus, the conclusion of this research is "behave like a man" in Book 1 Kings 2:2 is a figurative word for Solomon to act decisively as a leader

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mempresentasikan karakteristik Injil Matius dalam menggambarkan Yesus sebagai Mesias Penyembuh yang membedakan Yesus dari magician pada zamanNya. Penyembuhan yang dilakukan Yesus adalah untuk menggenapi nubuatan Perjanjian Lama tentang kedatangan Mesias. Penulis menggunakan metode tafsir kritik redaksi dalam menganalisa susunan Injil Matius serta dua perikop terkait mujizat penyembuhan. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, pertama-tama penulis memaparkan kesatuan antara pengajaran dan penyembuhan Yesus dalam Injil Matius dimana hal ini tidak ditemukan dalam praktek penyembuhan di dunia Yunani Romawi. Selanjutnya, penulis menganalisa penyembuhan perempuan yang pendarahan dua belas tahun dalam Matius 9:20-22 dan penyembuhan anak perempuan Kanaan dalam Matius 15:21-28. Dalam kedua narasi tersebut Matius meredaksi materi yang diperolehnya dari Markus dengan mengurangi unsur-unsur magisnya untuk menghadirkan Yesus sebagai Mesias.

Abstract

One of the most important dimensions of the economy is the creation of justice and common prosperity for all people in the world. The economy is both rules and norms forming a unified global society. Therefore, conversations and all systems that govern the economy must answer the most important question of the economy, namely whether the system formed and compiled by humans is able to bring social justice and shalom to all mankind. The biggest problem in addressing global poverty is the injustice of the economic system which makes the owners of capital richer, while the workers and the people are getting impoverished even though they have worked hard. This structured poverty has also resulted in a series of negative impacts of social life such as terrorism, environmental damage, racism and global discrimination. This article questions the role of the church in the phenomenon of economic injustice that has often been discussed in the global ecumenical community, for it seems the churches have not done much or even grasped the reality of this injustice. The true church is a church that is able to balance ecclesiocentricity and oikocentricity, meaning that the spiritual life of the church must be felt by members of the congregation socially and politically with social justice. Ecclesiology can only be understood if the church joins hands ecumenically, across religions and across nations in demanding an end to the injustice of the economic system while seeking equitable economic alternatives by absorbing the values of local wisdom.
