Abstract

This research aims to find out the patterns of students’ character building and factors that support and inhibit as faced by Islamic Education teachers in State Primary School 16 V Koto Timur District Padang Pariaman Regency. According to the objective, this research utilizes qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data sources are a school principal, Islamic Education teachers, and Classroom teachers. The researchers use observation, interview, and documentation as the data collection techniques. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, classification, and presentation and conclusion drawing. It is known that Islamic Education is the students’ character-building effort. The character building pattern is done by integrating PAI (Islamic Education) and using uswah and hikmah method into character Education. In building students’ character, there are supporting and inhibiting factors that include school internal and external factors.

Abstract

Education is not only the process of transferring knowledge. Then a student is asked to memorize, then is assessed based on the ability to memorize that knowledge. At the same time, a student at this time needs to have high-level thinking skills or HOTS. The launching and recommendation of the application of HOTS in the learning process is one of the strategic efforts to improve learning capacity, especially the learning of religious education in the HOTS of critical thinking. Logically, the problem of higk level thinking, which is the person's cognitive skills, is the upper front part, which is called the prefrontal cortex. The brain part of this part is known as the center of ecretutive control, or the student is a high-level thinking. Also, place of problem solving, regulation, create character and personality. Sciences strategic activities are carried out in Islamic Education so that they can get high-level ability to be enhanced with the HOTS indicator: (1) analysis level, (2) evaluation level, (3) level of integration. This research enriched scientific knowledge in other studies.

Abstract

Prophetic dimension owned by KH. Ahmad Dahlan and KH. Hasyim Asy’ari is a privilege that they had. Muhammadiyah and NU education that realizes the thoughts of its founding fathers should have synergy in terms of the prophetic dimensions owned by the founding fathers. Research on Muhammadiyah Education and Muhammadiyah Teaching and NU Education and NU Teaching by studying the thoughts of KH. Ahmad Dahlan and KH. Hasyim Asy’ari through a prophetic analysis is necessary because it could be a material for the evaluation and development of Islamic Education in Indonesia to give more benefits for umat (society). The aims of research are to know the prophetic dimensions of KH. Ahmad Dahlan and KH. Hasyim Asy'ari about the concept of education and its implications in education. The results showed that KH owns the prophetic dimension in the humane education, element of liberation, element of transcendence, and direction in prayers. The Prophetic Dimension of KH. Hasyim Asy’ari is in the element of humane education, element of liberation, resistance to colonizers, element of transcendence, pure intention for knowledge seekers. The implications of the prophetic dimensions owned by KH. Ahmad Dahlan and KH. Hasyim Asy’ari on Muhammadiyah dan NU education for the development of Islamic Education in Indonesia are found on the aspect of system development of which the realization is the development of policy regarding the content of Islamic Education Curriculum at Schools.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the Islamic education during the Bani Ummayyah era. The history of Islamic Education is essentially related to the religion history. The periodization of Islamic education is always on the period of the history itself. The Islamic Education in the Prophet Muhammad SAW era is the period of Islamic education development by civilizing the education in daily lives as the Al-Qur’an teaching. The education during the period of Bani Umayyah has developed of if it is seen from their learning aspect, although the system is similar to it during the era of Prophet and khulafaur rasyidin. The method utilized in this research is Study of Literature, which is done by analyzing library sources in forms of relevant books and journals. The result indicates 1) the pattern of special education development such as Arabic nuances, Islamic foundation affirmation, naqliyah knowledge and language development, foreign language teaching, and kuttab and mosque strengthening; 2) development of the most stand out education field is in the institutions; 3) non-formal curriculum is used; and 4) there are many teacher figures and scholars who are capable in the scientific field.

Abstract

Zakiah said that religion is a psychological need that must be demanded. In line with him, Ghazali emphasized that the science of religion is the basis of his ethical system. Reaching a healthy mind can be obtained through Islamic education. This is qualitative research with a comparative analysis method. To produce the thoughts of these two scholars are increasingly clearly illustrated. The researcher found that the two figures had the same conclusion in achieving a healthy mind. That is, someone had to look for it through education that emphasized good character. However, they have several different points of thought regarding defining the soul and its relationship to the healthy mind.

Abstract

The first and main children’s education is family education. In order to form children to be pious and faithful toward the One Almighty God, have noble characters that involve ethics, moral, and manners. This article aims to explain the foundation, principles and how it is performed and what methods utilized in the Quranic parenting. Those objectives are explained and framed in Islamic values. This article utilizes library research method. The data sources are taken from primary and secondary data. The primary data is Quranic Parenting: Success Tips to Educate Students based on the Al-Qur’an (Quranic Parenting: Tips for Success in Educating Children according to the Qur'an). Based on the result, the foundations of children’s parenting are Al Quran, Hadiths, and Ijma’ Ulama, the Act of National Education System (Sisdiknas) No.20 Year 2003 Article 7 Paragraph 2, and Act of the Republic of Indonesia No.23, Year 2002 article 26 paragraph 1. While the principles of parenting are to maintain the children’s nature (almuhafazoh), develop their potentials (at-tanmiyah), provide a clear guidance (at-taujid), gradually (at-tararruj). The parenting methods are Exemplary, Habituation, Attention, Rewards, and Punishments.

Abstract

The theme of reason and revelation becomes a hot topic because it is one of the Islamic theology studies that cannot be separated from a polemic. The use of reason is more dominant than a divine revelation will tend to produce a liberal. However, reasoning that ignores a reason will tend to be textual and traditional. The research aims to find out the comparison between the thought of Harun Nasution and Muhammad Quraish Shihab about reason and revelation and its relevance with Islam Education. While this research is theoretically used to enrich the scientific treasures of reason and revelation. The result presents the difference and similarity between both figures’ thoughts on reason and revelation. Harun Nasution and Muhammad Quraish Shihab believe in an absolute truth that only comes from a divine revelation. Humans’ reason has extraordinary potential if it is used appropriately. However, it also has a tendency to drive to an astray way. Besides, both figures emphasize on the moral function of the divine revelation towards human life. The divine revelation brings goodn values for mankind through their lives. The difference is in the capacity in providing an area for reason and revelation. Harun Nasution tends to give a bigger portion to use the reason than the divine revelation in formulating his opinions. Meanwhile, Quraish Shihab is known as a moderate figure because their opinion prioritizes the harmony between reason and revelation.
