Abstract

This research aims at finding out the implementation of web-blog in teaching and learning Reading Comprehension at Indonesian higher education institution. The study specifically would like to discover: (1) The application of web-log in teaching Reading Comprehension in the classroom; and (2) the impact of web-blog application on the students’ Reading Comprehension skill. This research applied a qualitative descriptive method using observation checklist and interview to collect the data. Five (5) fourth semester students at the Muhammadiyah University of Makassar were selected as participants of the study using Purposive Random Sampling technique. The study found: (1) the lecturer perceived that the implementation of web-blog in teaching and learning reading comprehension skills has the potential to improve student learning outcomes, but technical problems and distractions are challenges that need to be overcome; and (2) the use of web- blog in teaching and learning Reading has a significant impact on increasing students' reading interest, motivation, and comprehension skills, making it an effective approach that offers a variety of benefits to students

Abstract

The problem in this research is how to apply the take and give type cooperative learning model to improve the science and science learning achievement of grade V students of UPTD SPF SD Negeri 179 Talumae, Soppeng Regency. This research is graderoom action research which aims to determine the process and results of implementing the take and give type of cooperative learning model to improve science learning achievement for grade V students and to determine the increase in learning achievement in grade V material by implementing the cooperative learning models. take and give type. The approach used in research is a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used are observation, tests and documentation. The research subjects were grade teachers and 18 students. The carried out in two cycles. In cycle I, the research results on the learning process were at sufficient qualification (C) and the learning test results were at sufficient qualification (C). Cycle II research results on the learning process were in good qualifications (B) and learning test results were in good qualifications (B). The conclusion of this research is that the application of the take and give type cooperative learning model can improve the science and science learning process and achievement of grade V UPTD SPF students at SD Negeri 179 Talumae, Soppeng Regency

Abstract

This research aimed at finding out the learning needs of deaf students in learning English vocabulary using digital book at SLB Negeri 1 Makassar. The participants of the research were chosen by using total sampling The students’ criteria who experience a loss of hearing and speech impairments may face various challenges in their educational journey were the participant this research were thirty students of junior high school and senior high school SLB Negeri 1 Makassar. The data was collected through questionnaire and interview. The results of this research showed that deaf students was Important purpose in learning English for deaf students was to succeed in college, to succeed in career, for information exchange, to get a scholarship, and for personal needs. Deaf students are having barriers to writing, reading, speaking and listening skills. vocabulary important materials for deaf students were vocabulary at school, in the classroom, school equipment, at school, subjects, classroom activities, school uniform, extracurricular, school environment, profession, family, daily activity, month and day vocabulary. Learning models that were important to deaf students in their vocabulary learning preferences in the classroom include learning alone, learning in a pair, learning in small groups, and learning in large groups. Deaf learning activities and media in vocabulary learning in the classroom were using sign language and digital-based learning. An important place to learn vocabulary for deaf students is in the school area. The teacher said that all activities and learning processes students use smartphone as media. Technology strongly supports media in teaching English which will enrich the repertoire of learning and facilitate teachers in the teaching process and the use of smartphones can be one of the media that can attract or motivate students in learning English.
