Abstract

Riau is a province on the Island of Sumatera that is adjacent to Singapore and Malaysia. Currently more tourist come to Riau for various purposes. This arrival of tourist becomes a trigger of the hotel growth. By the increasing of the hotel growth, local government needs to organize the tourism sector. It aims to add the time of stay so that the people of Riau get the positive impact from this situation. Because of that reason, we need to know the factors that influence the confidence of investor, mainly in hotel sector.Keywords: hotel growth, tourism sector, confidence of investor

Abstract

Hasil ukur efektivitas bentuk suatu iklan di media cetak menjadi input penting bagi perusahaan. Khususnya di bidang perhotelan, hasil itu akan memberikan masukan terhadap peningkatan kreatifitas iklan yang disajikan. Model EPIC yang terdiri dari Empathy, Persuasion, Impact dan Communication merupakan salah satu metode yang digunakan untuk mengukur efektivitas suatu bentuk iklan. Dari hasil pengukuran efektivitas POP Hotel di Kelapa Gading Pada Majalah Venue No. 95 diperoleh hasil bahwa semua faktor pada model EPIC dinyatakan efektif. Saran bagi peneliti berikutnya adalah dapat membandingkan POP Hotel di daerah yang berbeda atau dengan menggunakan perbandingan hotel-hotel di satu area. Kata Kunci : empathy, persuasion, impact, communication, efektivitas, iklan

Abstract

Hospitality and tourism companies have been growth very fast. Many people from foreign country have an interest to visit Indonesia. Tourism growth in Indonesia reach 9,39% in 2014, exceeding economic growth rate 5,7%. This high number has influenced hospitality sector. In 2014, investment value on hospitality and tourism sector has achieved US$ 130,13 million consisting of foreign investment US$ 117,24 million and domestic investment US$ 12,86 million. In this paper we examine how hospitality and tourism sector in the BEI from the macro economy perspective. Macro variable used in this research are exchange rate, inflation rate, interest rate, and systematic risk. These variables will be related with the stock price of the hospitality and tourism companies listed in BEI. Keywords: exchange rate, inflation rate, interest rate, systematic risk, stock price, hospitality and tourism sector

Abstract

Tourism from time to time continues to change in terms of typology based on the characteristics of tourist attraction and motivation. One of the typology used is dark tourism that linking tourist attraction with death and disaster. The tragedy that occurred in the past were likely to cause death, especially in mass quantities, the death of famous persons, public figures often stimulate a person to travel. Activities undertaken during this much more about remembering and honoring the death and catastrophic events that have occurred. But actually, if it is viewed from the supply side, the attraction being visited is not new and the term dark tourism gives the impression as if the tourist activity conducted in conjunction with real events associated with death and disaster. Although tourist activities is not necessarily related to real events that deal directly with tourists, but it is more influenced by the tourist motivation to do homage to the deceased and as self- reflection to see the events or tragedies in the past as a consideration in living in the present. This paper tries to offer a term in the typology of tourist attraction with a positive meaning: the commemorative tourism. Keywords: dark-tourism, heritage, commemorative

Abstract

Purpose- The purpose of this research is to classify the characteristic of hotel industry that are classified as heritage building site in Indonesia, to describe its strategic management, and to define the advantages and obstacles encountered Methodology- This is qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. Primary data was collected from key informant interview and questionnaire survey with hotel management representative. Research was conducted at selected hotels inIndonesia, which are listed officially at Indonesia heritage inventory website Expected Findings- The result will provide depth description refer to major principles of hotel concept as heritage building; its characteristic, competitive advantages, strategic management, its operational and all related challenges that might be occured Research limitation- First is limitation in the number of selected hotel. Second, analysis is only from hotel management point of view. Thus further research should be conducted for hotels in all Indonesia area considering perspective from employee, government and expert perspective Value- This research contributes to the understanding for hotel industry acknowledgement in the depth concept of heritage hotel. Abstract

Many benefits can be felt by the local community with the presence of tourists Middle East, such as the presence of new business opportunities as a business place or a restaurant meal, lodging or hotel, convenience stores, clothing stores and souvenirs, as well as services travel or scouting, transportation services, even haddamah community, the people who have the ability to cook specifically for Middle Eastern cuisine. In addition to tourist activities undertaken by Middle Eastern tourists, sometimes there is also participating in social activities such as donating funds for the construction of mosques or schools. But the benefits are felt by residents around the tourist arrivals in the Middle East in improving its economy is not only related to things - positive things that have been mentioned above.
