Abstract

This study aims to describe process and achievement of expository writing skills through the Picture and Picture teaching method.  This study used classroom action research design assigning 31 students in the seventh graders of SMP ISLAM Az-zikra Tastura Lombok in 2016/1017.  The study was conducted in two cycles each of which was staged using planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of data analysis showed: (1) attainment in writing expository writing after picture and picture model was incurred in cycle 1 and cycle 2 increased from 76% into 89%; (2)  the learning process showed that in cycle 1, students were successful to understand text structure of expository writing; and in cycle 2 students accomplished minimum standard of mastery. During the learning process: initial, core, concluding stages, students enthusiastically followed each stage of learning at their own interests and struggles.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase of mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of jigsaw learning model in class VII. The design of this study was classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Results of the study showed student learning activities in the cycles increased by 13.46%, teacher activity 7.36%, and students’ learning outomes up to 95%. Minimum mastery was accomplished by 30 (95%) students and only 2 students that reached below minimum mastery, and average score 78,45.

Abstract

This study was initiated by language problems spoken by students of SMPN 4 Bolo, Bima. The study aimed to determine level of interference of native language (Mbojo Language) on Indonesian. This study used descriptive qualitative approach. Subject of this study were students and teachers of SMPN 4 Bolo. Data were collected using observation and interview.  The study discovered that interference of Mbojo language into bahasa Indonesia occurred in:  pronunciation and diction.  pronunciations (sound) in speech included: errors of pronunciation, i.e. changes of phonemes, phoneme disappearance, addition of phonemes, and, pausing pause in a group of words and also interference in sentence level.  Interference on diction appeared in the use of vocabulary, phrase and diction.

Abstract

           This study described Cognitive Restructuring (CR) to reduce simthompts of Dissociate Trance Disorder (DTD) in the rehearsals process on athletic activities and how CR increased cognitive process to reasoning, understanding and reducing DTD.  This study used classroom action research design with two cycles.  The study was conducted in SMAN 1 Kademangan, Blitar.  The study revealed that CR improved students skills to reduce DTD that raised internally through physical activities or mentally through thinking process.

Abstract

This research described the use of jargon in social interaction of Sasak language. The researcher evoked the issue on forms, function and meaning of jargon used by students of MAN Gerung, West Lombok regency.  This research is a descriptive research that used qualitative approach. The techniques of data collection were observation and documentation. The data were analyzed through specific linguistic feature based on linguistic attitude. The results were summarized as follows: 1) forms of jargon were found in terms of word and phrase forms, 2) the functions of jargon were for communicative simplicity, identiying function and milieu restoration. While the meaning of the data jargon jargon MAN Gerung students varies based on the students' understanding.

Abstract

This study reports learning outcomes of social sciences subject  through the application of guided discovery learning model. This study was a classroom action research of two cycles. Conducted in SMPN 1 Karangploso Malang in 2015/2016 the study assigned 31studnets of 8th class as the subject.  Data were collected through observation, testing, and documentation. This study revealed that learning activities and attainment increased substantially. Scores of pre-test prior to cycles were: above Minimum Mastery Standard (KKM) = 3 (9.6%), 65-74 = 12 (38,71%) , 60-64 =10 (32,26%), and below 60 = 6 (19.35%).  Results of  cycle I were: mean score 79.41, maximum score 88 and minimum score 64, distributed into: above KKM = 3 (9.67%), 65-74 = 12 (38.71%), 60-64 = 10 (32.26%), and below 60 = 6 (19.35%).  Attainment in cycle II were salient showing 29 (93.55%) above KKM and 2 (6.45%) below KKM.

Abstract

This study described errors of the dubbers in the infotaiment issues in the INSERT program presented by Trans TV channel, focusing on diction and sentence variations used by the host.  Problem addressed in this study was to what extents accuracy and accuratness in the words and sentences used by the host met criteria of good and correct Bahasa Indonesia. This study used content analysis with qualitative approach. Data were derived from document analysis obtained from the records of the INSERT program from 1-8 December 2016.  This study concluded that some language errors occured in the selection of words, phrases and sentences, implying meanings in the news was bias, misinterpreted even misled for the audiences. Instead of giving negative impact as an issue or rumor, the news was perceived as propaganda or black campaign.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in science subject through students team achievement division (STAD) model. This study used classroom action research design in three cycles.  This study was conducted at SMPN 1 Karangploso in academic year 2014/2015 assigning 32 students of 8th class as subject.  Findings of the study are as follows. In cycle I, of 32 students only 4 (12.50%) achieved minimum mastery (KKM) and 87.5% was failed with mean score 56.41.  In cycle II, KKM was reached by 18 (56.25%),  43.75% failed  and mean score 69.22.  In cycle III, KKM was gained by 29 (90.26%), 3 (0.93%) failed and average score 88.97.  Students  accomplishement  was suprising, that is 19 (59.37%) acheived 91-100, 10 (31.25%) = 81-90, 2 (6.25%) = 75-79, and 1 (3.13%) = 40-79.   STAD evidently improved students mastery on science subject.

Abstract

In Lombok Island, Lelakaq Sasak is one of the important cultures used to give suggestion to people. Nowdays Lelakaq Sasak are used as campaign media e.g. elections for head village, legislative, regency and governor to attract constituent. The goal of this research is to know how Lelakaq  types and function used in Mataram regency campaign. Data were collected using observation, quotation, document, and were analyzed using structural analysis, semiotic and hermeneutic. The results showed some types of Lelakaq used for campaing in Mataram regency election existed. Structural analysis found Lelakaq was used in terms of theme and advice. In semiotic, Lelakaq was presented in terms of metaphor, hyperbola. In hermeneutic Lelakaq apperead in terms of sounds, aliteration, association, diction. Lelakaq functioned as entertaint, stimulus and advice. The purpose of Lelakaq is about to describe event and feeling and in the campaign lelakaq was represented to give moral value, material, spiritual and people’s  visualisation.

Abstract

Cooperative learning has been implemented widely in teaching learning process resulting optimum outcomes in learning.  Five principles of learning in the cooperative learning are essential, making cooperative learning efficient and different from just placing students into groups.  This paper is a review of cooperative learning for language class.  However, the evidence indicates that cooperative learning is also applicable for lessons other than language class.
