Abstract

Public space is the character and identity of a city. Public Space is a facility that is able to accommodate the interaction of diverse and dynamic urban communities, such as the Wonorejo Nursery which is located in the city of Surabaya. With climate and global warming issues becoming more and more worrisome, sustainable public spaces are very important because they can have a positive impact on urban life as a whole. Therefore, this study aims to examine the principles of sustainable public space that are applied to parks in the city of Surabaya. In this study, the Wonorejo Nursery was chosen as a case study because the Wonorejo Nursery is the largest and busiest park in the East Surabaya area. So the presence of the Wonorejo Nursery has significant implications for the lives of East Surabaya residents. With this significance, the study of the implementation of sustainable public space in this park can provide an overview of the impact of park development on the surrounding environment in terms of sustainability issues. This research is a qualitative research, with a descriptive-analytic type. The results of the analysis show that the Wonorejo nursery implements several elements of sustainable public space, but in some facilities it still requires improvement and development so that it can function optimally.

Abstract

Even though the government, through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), introduced the concept of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in regulations as a form of collaboration and integration for application in the Indonesian construction industry in 2017, the adoption rate of BIM in Indonesia remains low. There are many obstacles that must be faced, such as the curriculum at the vocational high school level to higher education, or skill sets that have not yet been developed in their users. This study examines the abilities of Building Cluster Vocational High School Students in terms of mastered skills that are in line with BIM competency standards. The methods are a survey and the use of the Relative Importance Index on the participants of the 30th Vocational High School Competency Competition (LKS) at the East Java Provincial Level in 2022. The finding indicates that non-cognitive competencies dominate the adaptability of these students' mastery of BIM software.

Abstract

The designation of Karya Maju Village as part of the Talaran Setara Tourism Area by the Regent of Barito Kuala, is a strategic step to provide improvement for the people in the area. Through developing plantation potential and opportunities, tourist destinations, especially those in Karya Maju Village, are trying to elevate agrotourism attractions as superior. In an effort to create a sustainable tourism area, other aspects need to be taken into consideration, including attractions, supporting facilities, achievements and additional facilities. This research uses a qualitative approach through comparative descriptions of ideal technical aspects with the real conditions encountered. Through this analysis of technical considerations, it is hoped that we can provide recommendations for the physical components of the area as a whole.

Abstract

The Barito Bridge Bottom Tourism Area is a public open space that is a tourist facility provided for tourists to see the view of the Barito Bridge. The condition of the landscape has greatly declined. To revitalise this area, a placemaking approach is used to determine the landscape design. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with the first stage assessing the existing conditions using placemaking indicators. Secondly, SWOT analysis of A4 conditions (attractions, amenity, accessibility, ancillary) so that it can determine design solutions by implementing placemaking indicators into landscape design. Through this approach, it is expected to provide recommendations for the physical components of the area as a whole. The findings of this research are that placemaking criteria can help the design of public open space landscapes, especially in tourist areas, in an effort to achieve successful placemaking.

Abstract

The user's sensory experience of an architecture evokes his emotions. The sensory system is not only limited to the visual aspect, but of course other senses. Human perception is basically multisensory, so that the individual will easily explain experiences through previous environmental interactions. This research was conducted to examine the user's multisensory experience at Taman Trunojoyo regarding the architectural space elements. The method used is descriptive qualitative, data collection using literature study and observation. This study divides the four areas studied and analyzes the architectural elements in terms of visual, haptic, auditory, olfactory and basic orientation aspects. In addition, the application of the parameters of the movement plane, guiding plane and resting plane were also analyzed in each area. The results of this study indicate that Trunojoyo park is not limited to a park that can only be enjoyed visually, but this park provides elements that can provide a multisensory experience to visitors. Such as the facilities of a reflection garden, elements of a fountain and children's playground, and others. However, because of its location in the middle of the city, it causes disturbances such as vehicle noise that enters at several points in the area.
