Abstract

Noemuti River is a river located in the South Bikomi District with a length of 30 km that is monitored periodically by the North Central East Regency Environmental Service. Information on the results of this monitoring needs to be conveyed as simple information, one of which is in the form of a water quality index. This study aims to calculate the index value of water quality and conduct a sensitivity analysis. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using secondary data in the form of 2016-2018 monitoring results. The parameters included in the calculation of the water quality index are BOD, COD, TSS, Fecal Coliform, and Total Coliform. Data were analyzed using the pollution index formula to get a water quality index value. Sensitivity analysis was carried out with four scenarios, namely removing parameters a) Fecal Coliform b) Total Coliform c) Fecal Coliform and Total Coliform d) TSS. The Noemuti river water quality index value ranges from 0.26-5.28, with the category good quality to moderately polluted. Sensitivity analysis provides a picture of parameters that influences the water quality index value. The fourth scenario is a scenario that causes a change in the water quality index from the category of moderately polluted to lightly polluted on 2017 data in the second and third points. This means that TSS parameters must be considered to improve river water quality. Also, the loss of the Ci / Lij TSS value as the maximum value decreases the water quality index value means the maximum Ci / Lij value is very vital for the pollution index formula. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Noemuti river has been polluted, and TSS is a parameter that needs to be considered in arranging controlling water pollution recommendations.

Abstract

The progress of science in the field of medicine is currently very rapid along with technological advances, but the use of traditional medicines is increasingly popular. This is due to the low side effects caused by traditional medicines, practical use, easy to obtain and affordable prices. North Sulawesi is one area that has so many types of plants, including leilem plants (Clerodendrum minahassae) of the genus Clerodendrum. Leilem plant is an endemic plant in North Sulawesi which is often consumed by vegetables as a vegetable and is usually added to meat processing. This study aims to determine the effect of ethanol extracts of leilem leaves on the description of urea, uric acid and creatinine values in etylen glycol induced white rats. The study design, the treatment group was divided into 5 groups. The control group (P0), the ethylene glycol group (P1), the rockgin treatment group (P2), the ethanol extract group of leilem leaves at a dose of 150 mg / kgBB (P3), and the ethanol extract group of leilem leaves at a dose of 300 mg / kgBB (P4). The results showed that the ethanol extract of leilem leaves 150 mg / kgBB and 300 mg / kgBB could reduce the levels of ureum, creatinine and uric acid in rats with ethylene glycol treatment. Ethanol extract of leilem leaves 150 mg / kgBB was better in reducing levels of urea, creatinine and uric acid in rats compared with a dose of 300 mg / kgBB (p <0.05)

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the anti-diabetic potential of ciplukan herbal ethanol extract (Physalis angulata L) in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced alloxan given intraperitoneally and comparing its effectiveness with glibenclamide. This study uses 5 groups namely giving aquadest as normal control, giving alloxan as a negative control, giving alloxan and glibenclamide as a positive control and the ethanol extract of ciplukan herbal with a dose of 150 mg/kg BB and 300 mg/kg BB. Blood glucose measurement performed on day 0 (three days after induction), day 7, and day 14. The results showed that ethanol extract of ciplukan herbal (Physalis angulata L) can lower blood glucose levekls. A dose of 150 mg/kg BB have percentage decrease in blood glucose levels on day 7 and day 14 respectively by 14.1%and 70.5%. dose of 300 mg/kg BB have a percentage decrease in blood glucose levels on day 7 and day 14 respectively by 70.5%.and 69.5%. a dose of 150 mg/kg BB is more effective as an anti-diabetic compared with a dose of 300 mg/kg BB. Ethanol extract of ciplukan herbal (Physalis angulata L) also has an activity to repair damaged pancreatic-β cells in rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced by alloxan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the most effective dose in reducing fever in white rats induced by DPT-HB vaccine. The research method is an experimental laboratory using the method without heating for the manufacture of syrup. The results of initial temperature measurements in all treatment groups of white rats which is the normal temperature of the test animals before the DPT-HB vaccine is obtained ranged between 35.10C-37.10C. after 2 hours of DPT-HB vaccine injection, the body temperature of the white rats was measured again and the results obtained were 36,930C-38,430C. an increase in body temperature after 2 hours of injecting this vaccine compared to the results of measuring body temperature before the vaccine is injected is a sign that the test animal has experienced a fever. The negative control group which was given syrup without extract orally, showed the body temperature of the test animals had decreased as the temperature after injecting the vaccine. On the administration of alvocate leaf flavonoid syrup, the dose ¼ showed a decrease of 0.40C. For the administration of dosage flavonoid syrup extract dosage 1, it showed that the body temperature of the test animals had a temperature drop of 1,330C. And administration of Alvocado leaf flavonoid syrup extract dose 2, showed that the body temperature of the test animals had a temperature drop of 0.6 . While the administration of Alvocado leaf flavonoid extract syrup dose 3, showed that the body temperature of the test animals experienced a temperature increase of -0.2 . From the results obtained, it can be concluded that the most effective dose of antipyretic syrup of alvocado leaf flavonoid extract is dose 1.
